You cannot get discouraged because the store sells them too. When you go down the bread isle how many different brands a bread do you see on the shelf? Do you think them different companies get discouraged when they see other brands on the shelf? No, they put there’s out there too, and wait for the consumer to purchase theirs. So you can’t be afraid to make some baskets just because someone else is. You Have to trust yourself and your talents. Make them better than the ones in the stores, so that people will come to you instead. Hope this helps

Some places yes you need a vendor's license or permit. You just have to check with your local city government office and see what they say because you don't want to fined for selling your gifts on the street illegally.
It is up to the state you are in. Here in Tennessee, I have a vendor license, however I have permission from one of my local stores to sell on his property.
