A tip that i learnt at ballet to get your legs higher is to think about the thigs, not the foot. Just focus on getting your thighs high and your foot will go with it 👍
Cool, thanks for sharing! Are you into sprinting as well?
@@CaitlinSmith-do2hi that’s awesome man!
Accurate.
I do ballet plies for jump training.
Thanks coach 👍
Gosh I’m so happy there is no 20 minute mouth flapping and only 5 minutes good advise given. Just straight to the point.
💯 👊
Seriously! Lol
I dont do flat sprints i do hill sprinting 3 days a week. Monday Wednesday friday so i have 48 hours between each sprint day and 72 hours to rest over the weekend after completing 3 days of hard sprints. I started doing 5 sprints at maxim effort and added 1 sprint per workout per week. Im now upto 20 sprints per workout. My fat loss is unreal. The muscle I've built is crazy. Upper body not just legs. My stamina has rocketed. Sprinting is the ultimate exercise us humans can do. Great video dude 👍
Hey man I'm just getting back into running again. Did you start off with only 5 hill sprints per day for 3 days? Or do you mean 5 sets of "x" amount of hillsprints?
@@Wutuvet yes started at 5 sprints.
@staytrue5307 Thanks, man. I pulled my back, doing weighted ab workouts, so I'll get back to it hopefully 2 days.
That feet tip about landing on the front part of your foot is really helpful
I'm 64, looking to begin sprinting for viceral fat and health. I didn't want to hurt myself, as I sit at a desk all day. This is wonderful! Perfect for me, a beginner. Just what I was looking for.
Same here! Great tips
Try swing dancing if there is a local club. I am 65 and and find that it really helps keep me in shape.
I’m new to sprinting. It seems super technical but your videos help me! Thank you!
Awesome, you're welcome!
On the track I also do some backwards lunges and backwards jogging, I find this helps the chins and ankles.
I learned a lot about sprinting int he is one video. Thank you for the sprinting drills !
Glad you found it helpful!
I am using this to improve my speed around the bases. I am definitely implementing this into my training
Just looking to get into sprinting correctly and this looks to be very good content. For context I recently found out that sprinting is one of the main ways to remove visceral fat which causes many issues with us. Thank you for this and I'm subscribing to watch more.
I didn't know anything about sprinting as a teen. I used to do calve raises in the shower religiously . By the time I was 15 I was dunking with ease. I also ran a 4.3 in football. Now I'm 36 and significantly slower ,I can still dunk but nothing spectacular.. speed adds to the lift imo
my favorite go to videos when it comes to learning to sprint. Heaps of referrals via video, excellent and accurate information.
Working on starting to sprint as a 56-year-old!! Dr. Sean Omara says sprint to optimize and to rid my body of visceral fat. Your video was really helpful; thank you!
I’m just getting into sprinting, mostly to improve my base running and fielding for baseball, and I think this will be very helpful! Thank you!
This was perfect EXACTLY what I was lookin four.
Very useful for working on those essential muscles, helps a lot with getting back into running
Great drills. I'm training my son and do these except the calve training, I might add them once per week. I think it is important to add in core strengthening exercises at the end of drills to help with posture in sprints.
Thanks so much! aside 3-4 workouts with weights and bodyweight, i was already doing a one week hit training with 5-6 sprints after 15 minutes walking and some jogging. I waited for each sprint to have normal breath and hart rate like nothing happened to do the next one. But never knew this is so effective (i was surprised i had to recover 2-3 days really after one session) There is so many tips in this video i will have to watch it several times and start to optimize what i did.
Excellent information! Fantastically presented!
Sweet. This is very helpful. I will see about using these to their fullest effect
This is so dope! Thank you ❤
Excellent vid bro. Thanks
Nice man! Great information video! The production quality was great as well. Looking forward to seeing more videos bro!
Thanks Aaron I appreciate you checking it out!
Hey bro...great video..esp the part about the toe hops...conditioning my toes really helped me. Maybe u can do a segment on toes?
You got some great content man. Hope your channel grows bigger

amazing... excellent presentation: thank you Sir.
Thanks a lot for sharing the tips especially for the beginner like me, God bleed you and keep sharing please! Wishing you from Palawan, PHILIPPINES 🇵🇭 🏃♀️🏃🏻🏃🏻♂️😊❤️
Absolutely great video! The breakdown into specific exercises is just what I was looking for. Also, your advice on how to move your arms, legs and feet is not intuitive to the beginner and really helps a lot. Thanks very much for making this video and sharing your knowledge!
Glad it was helpful 🙏🏼!
I'm in my late 40s and not super fit. I've been recommended to do sprints for good circulation. I used to be a long distance runner, i always sucked at sprints but looking forward to this challenge.
Excellent information, all makes perfect sense and easy to do, with no special equipment required. One question: what about standing arm swings?
That's a great drill too, I did them a lot especially when first learning proper arm technique.
I'm going to start these drills tomorrow in preparation for my first real sprinting next month Dec 1
I want to like this video twice. Thank you charitable sir.
Great advice thanks
THANKs I got your channel .It will surely help me in my sprinting.
Awesome, welcome to the channel!
I do swing dancing twice a week and I think that it can really help both in strengthening your foot muscles and in learning how to land on the ball of your foot. My partners are almost all significantly younger than I am and they usually tire out long before I do after 15 years of building up my strength and stamina.
Good stuff bro, all your stuff is accurate
Thank you!
Very good video. It helps a lot about the principles of sprint.
Thank you Victor
I'm learning to sprint so I can hopefully get on base during my next season of co-ed slowpitch softball or at least make it close since I'm not great at hitting or running. Great video for noobs like me just looking to not be the absolute worst player on the team- thanks!
There are so many ways to get faster ! You can do it easily
Worth vdo , thanks broo👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for this
omg this is super good, i have a 100m and this is rlly a lot of help
Thanks Sir , this is a treasure
Thank you.
Nice thank you for the great tips I am a long distance runner and transitioning into sprinting because I have list a lot of speed due to being sick and lost my visible six pack any tips would be awesome
Great. Thank u.
Helpful!
Just like to say thank you so much..

The video shows clear and simple ways on prepration before and during a sprint..

Bro ur videos are fucken amaZing bro . The amount of details u put into it is crazy . Thank you bro foreal
Appreciate it bro, I'm just trying to make the best stuff possible on the topic, thank you for watching.
Arm techniques: seated arm swings
Legs techniques: staright leg bounces
Improve posture :a steps
It's the Best for how to
Get ready for sprinting.
Thank You.
You're welcome!
This was a great video thank you! One
Question tho, how fast do we swing our arms? Is it one swing per step? I’m not sure
Thank you for watching, yes it should be one arm swing (both arms) per step.
Great video
Thanks Dave
Thanks.
🙏🏻
Good video
Try to convert sprint speed-tchinque form to Mile up to improve 5K time! I call it Run with sprint Form to run with distance form!
Good one
Thanks for watching!
it was really good
Thank you Ari
brilliant video! Do you think team sport athletes like soccer players should try to have great form when they run? because it doesn't feel as natural when you have to change directions constantly. Thanks!
Yessir, soccer players benefit a lot from working on short sprints. Ronaldo even goes to the track and uses starting blocks: ruclips.net/video/r2i6fX_iOh4/видео.html
Yoooooo-Same last name, same sport, same position
@@GPROD6969 lmao
I am trying to run more but I am also trying to transition into barefoot-style of shoe wearing and walking and this video is perfect for that!
Thank you I mean I found other videos that explain the Sprint drills but they don't tell you what each of them do and why you do each drill.
I love all your videos that I've seen!
I think that sprinting and running techniques are similar to power lifting techniques they actually inform on normal everyday movement and you can learn so much from these even not being a powerlifter or being a sprinter.
You should try vivo bearfoot shoes
I've been sprinting years but I don't know much about considering how much I know about most things
So you know the example that you had with the punching in the example that you gave about the punching in the belly you would think that that would be a really good q but it's not because some people feel their abdomen were there to push out their bellies rather than to suck in
I am 82yo grandma pretty fit for my age. I am not overweight but started sprinting to reduce accumulated visceral fat. I am concerned about sprinting on the track or even grass because of risk of trip and fall (I do have osteoporosis). So started using step machine with the arms in the gym for my sprints. I do 10 sprints 15 seconds duration, 3 days a week. Do you think I am getting sufficient cardiovascular work to achieve my goal of visceral fat loss?
Thank you.
Grand risings. You sound like the artist RUSS.
Met him before, solid guy.
Me sitting on the edge of the toilet while watching the video (doing the arm drill) "nothing to see here".....great stuff man, thanks for the tips.
Which is better open hands or close hands
I wamt a 20 min5k and dont sprint and barely can dp a 30 min 5k. Would a sprint goal prep me for getting close to 20min 5k? Im too impatient to do endless slow miles and I dont think my frame is the best. Id rather build a runners body with sprint stuff then focus more on the 20min5k.
The best Drills for me. Is a skip because you learn how to stay tall and other important Things. Other good Drills are stright Leg bounding, because you learn the negative Strike and the 3 Drill in my list is Alternative Leg bounding.
nice video
🙏🏻
how many reps and rest in middle?
What would be a good way to add sprinting to my training? I’m about to be 52. I currently do strength training, CrossFit type metabolic conditioning, and also get in a couple of aerobic runs.
I do these on my off days from training
Hey, is it a good idea to firstly start with jogging, then commence my way to sprinting as my body gets used to it. Or should I firstly start with sprinting, im confused. I never ran for 4 years now, well as I was 12 I used to be very athletic. I want to feel that feeling again, where you can run as fast as you can while feeling the wind again. But I need advice, how do I start it out. Do I need to start jogging first.
Yes that's an awesome feeling. Rewatch the video if you need to, I outline everything step by step.
If your running 100m then your gonna want to sprint at the start then jog at the end (unless you don't need to)
Nah. The most important part is stretching. Then a light jog to warm the body up and then sprint. All in one session. Don’t go max on the sprint go about 50% then 75% 85% give more the stronger you get
I make my upper body so tight so I can't swing my arms faster while sprinting. can give any tips to avoid this mistake please
Yes use a potato chip, it sounds weird but it forces your arms to relax. This video explains more: ruclips.net/video/Vr-k0_c8tVE/видео.html
Thanks now I’ll be able to run away from my mom
Haha
I've been running 3 to 4 miles a day since 7th grade, long distance running, I'm now 47. Had a couple surgeries back to back which prevented me from running for months., ive put on alot of weight. I'm now back to running 3 miles a day but my muscles ache and my weight is not dropping off. Been researching the sprinting then to a light jog back to sprinting for 30 not sure how to break that down seeing that I've never sprinted.
As the saying goes, “Can’t out run a bad diet.” Make sure you NEVER drink ANY sugar. Good luck.
I'm trying to train for the 100m and 200m meet I'll have soon June 9th. What is a self timing tool you Recommend?
Alarm app on your phone
what is the reps & sets?
🥇🤗🥇🤗
The way I describe doing the A step is think of a horse pawing the ground.
That works too
I don't own proper shoes for sprinting, but i live near the beach. Do you think I could do this drill on sand without worrying about injuries?
Yes. Sand sprints are actually great if you're training for health and or conditioning.
I did a speed test at school, and I got a medium score.... then I got frustrated, and went to the field, I could feel the wind on my face, and a voice told me to run, and to not stop.. at that time, I did over 30 laps, now im with a burning feeling to get faster and faster, but im too new to sprinting, would some of you have tips for a begginer?
Be consistent, stretch, warmup thoroughly, record your technique, lift weights, and time yourself.
Thank you, now the police won’t stand a chance
PED and genetics are addressed in the beginning of the video, that plays a role for sure. However, swimmers are a better comparison, and their shoulders are pretty jacked too.
can jump roping help in developing foot strength?
Yessir, great simple way to target muscles that are often overlooked.
@@TheSprintProject_thank you sir....it is validated now...
Is high knees efficient my friend?
You referring to the high knee drill?
I just training to bring down my 300m sprint time. I missed the requirement by 2 seconds a week ago. v_v
sir, when i'm at my top speed... My Rhythm is SO not in balance . I don't know if i should focus on knee drive or quickly flicking my butt with my heel .. YELP !!!
If I had to pick I would focus on the knee drive since the leg recovery depends on the knee drive and will auto correct if you fix it.
@@TheSprintProject_ Thankyouuuuuuu
Can the step 3 be rope skipping ?
That came to mind when viewing the bouncing drills. But rope skipping involves very different arm motions than sprinting.
It's similar but this movement allows you to focus more on power with each bounce.
