We lost our Ralphie dog 2 weeks ago. He was 10 and got sick that morning and by midnight we had him put out of his pain. It was a very tragic ordeal. He was my baby. I miss him so dearly.

Jen you might like a fiber artist I watch from Canada. She just got done spinning an advent calendar from the UK and she's going to do a weaving project that has lots of bumps and bobs in it. She also has a book that has lots of different ways of spinning to give you those bumps and bobs. She's called BF Fiber Arts. Last year her brother was cleaning out a house and the house had all sorts of weaving and yarns, threads and bobbins and things. I love watching her, she dyes sometimes and spins a dice and uses that to tell her how many colors to use.
I’m so happy for you, Mr. Cinnamon really came through this Christmas! A drum carder AND a jumbo flywheel are just about the best Christmas presents ever for a spinner. Have fun with them! He loves you and wants to see you happy. Spinning makes you happy. About handling compacted/felted fibre: try steaming the fibre. It’ll fluff up like you wouldn’t believe. Washing fibre: don’t be afraid. Make a warm bath with a SMALL splash of Dawn dish soap. Let the fibre soak for 20 minutes. Squeeze out the water and if needed, repeat. Rinse as often as needed to remove the soap. Squeeze out the water again, place between two towels and roll into a sausage. Stand on it, do a dance, have Little Man jump around on it or whatever to remove as much of the water as you can. Or put it in a laundry bag and dump it in the spin-dryer (depending on the spin-dryer you can spin it rolled in a towel). Allow to dry and if compacted, steam it. Card or comb as needed. This is exactly how I wash icky raw fleece. And let me tell you, that fleece is FILTHY. Even alpaca fleece, which has the reputation of felting really easily comes out clean and with no felting or barely any felting. Seeing your face light up when you talk about your spinning is a delight to see. It really makes you happy and to see you glow just makes my day. No wonder Mr. Cinnamon overspent. And he was right to do so because you deserve everything you got. Many blessings to you, Mr. Cinnamon and your loved ones for 2025! It’s been a tough year and I really wish for nothing but smooth sailing for you for the coming year.

I really like your art yarn. So glad the dogs are okay now. They really will eat anything, right? My dog used to gnaw up fallen tree branches like a beaver, haha. My "Lola" is 13 years old now, so I don't know how much longer I have with her. She's in relatively good health now except for some arthritis. She looks like a long legged blond terrier - she's a miniature schnauzer/golden retriever mix. How did that happen? - Mother got stuck in snowbank and father saw opportunity, haha. She's beautiful, and I love her to bits.
My daughter has a true anaphylaxis allergy to gluten, wheat and rye and her hands actually swell and she gets hives from even touching it as well. Glad your pup is okay and that your family had an amazing Christmas holiday. Happy new year!

You getting your big present there reminds me of the year we got our daughter a laptop. We made her open that gift last because we knew as soon as she got it she would only play with that. So we told her she had to wait till everything else was opened. So she's really excited, only one present left before her last one. My husband opens the one before hers, it's from his parents. And in that box was 20 tiny presents all wrapped up, all things to do with fishing. He opened that box and we started laughing and she started fake crying. It was such a great day.

Good morning Jen, Chris did a great with your presents this year. With the squeaky knob please don’t use WD40. WD-40 doesn't have the same viscosity as traditional grease or oil, and it can erode certain finishes, and it can cause problems when used as a substitute. The best thing you could use is oil. I would use the same oil you use on the spinning wheel. Anyways you didn’t say you were going to make a video of you using your new carder drum (not sure if that’s correct) but I’m hoping you do because I would like to see how it works and I’m sure others would too. We get stollen every year for Christmas. We go to the Dutch Store and get the chocolate letters, all the cookies and candies for the stockings. It is delicious. I’m sure there is probably a gluten free version that could be made. Hopefully you can eventually try it again in a form you can eat, without the doggie helping themselves.
I know what you mean! We had an adopted stray named Sadie my son adopted was an unidentified breed. I had made a batch of brownies and put it on the center of our giant table to cool thinking it was safe. Nope! Came home and Sadie had eaten entire 9 x 13 pan of brownies! I was sure the dog was toast! Nope! She was fine!!
Mr. cinnamon is the greatest! That’s a nice machine. And now you won’t need any gloves to keep your fingers from getting poked. I’m so happy Bentley is OK. My vet told me. that truly you don’t have to induce vomiting for a dog unless they eat 95% chocolate which I was on a diet long time ago and my Australian Shepherd got up there and ate all the chocolate! But she was very sick and my vet tech told me to give her 10 cc of hydrogen peroxide and it bubbles up in their stomach to make them throw up which she did even some of the foil that covered the chocolate. So the chocolate came up and then I gave her chicken broth and she drank it all then she was fine! But the 95% chocolate would have made her seriously ill so I’m glad I caught her in time. I’m glad you’re on early or late. Whatever it is. I had chemotherapy today and immediately came home and fell asleep until 930 and of course I could not tell if it was Friday or Saturday so I look for your video and figured it out that I had just taken a long nap. Now I’m finishing a very large blanket for my neighbor who gives me lots of plants and he said he’d pay me $100 for it because I told him he I 😮 31:26 didn’t buy any New Yarn I just use what was left over. I’m watching the history channel and I don’t know if any of you notice, but when Jesus Mary and Joseph were running to Egypt to escape the persecution of the babies, God told him to go in the cave and then then spider instantly made a web that took up the whole entrance quickly, and that’s where Christmas tinsel comes from. I did not know that because the soldiers passed at the entrance because they said no one’s been in there because of the large spiderweb! So they were saved and that’s why we put tinsel on trees before years ago

Hi Jennifer, Thank goodness Bentley is fine now. Sorry you had such a rough time with him. My dog’s vet told me that chocolate made for humans can be fatal for dogs. They do make chocolate specifically for dogs which they love and causes no harm to them. Check with your own vet to be sure. Enjoy your Holidays and best wishes for a healthy, happy new year.
My kids had a bucket…when Garrett had cancer, he moved up to a bigger bucket until we got him 2 special trash cans so he could puke in one, move it to bathroom and still have one for next to bed!

WD-40 doesn't have the same viscosity as traditional grease or oil, and it can erode certain finishes, and it can cause problems when used as a substitute.
The best thing you could use is oil. I would use the same oil you use on the spinning wheel.
Anyways you didn’t say you were going to make a video of you using your new carder drum (not sure if that’s correct) but I’m hoping you do because I would like to see how it works and I’m sure others would too.

We get stollen every year for Christmas. We go to the Dutch Store and get the chocolate letters, all the cookies and candies for the stockings. It is delicious. I’m sure there is probably a gluten free version that could be made. Hopefully you can eventually try it again in a form you can eat, without the doggie helping themselves.

I know what you mean! We had an adopted stray named Sadie my son adopted was an unidentified breed. I had made a batch of brownies and put it on the center of our giant table to cool thinking it was safe. Nope! Came home and Sadie had eaten entire 9 x 13 pan of brownies! I was sure the dog was toast! Nope! She was fine!!
Mr. cinnamon is the greatest! That’s a nice machine. And now you won’t need any gloves to keep your fingers from getting poked. I’m so happy Bentley is OK. My vet told me. that truly you don’t have to induce vomiting for a dog unless they eat 95% chocolate which I was on a diet long time ago and my Australian Shepherd got up there and ate all the chocolate! But she was very sick and my vet tech told me to give her 10 cc of hydrogen peroxide and it bubbles up in their stomach to make them throw up which she did even some of the foil that covered the chocolate. So the chocolate came up and then I gave her chicken broth and she drank it all then she was fine! But the 95% chocolate would have made her seriously ill so I’m glad I caught her in time. I’m glad you’re on early or late. Whatever it is. I had chemotherapy today and immediately came home and fell asleep until 930 and of course I could not tell if it was Friday or Saturday so I look for your video and figured it out that I had just taken a long nap. Now I’m finishing a very large blanket for my neighbor who gives me lots of plants and he said he’d pay me $100 for it because I told him he I 😮 31:26 didn’t buy any New Yarn I just use what was left over. I’m watching the history channel and I don’t know if any of you notice, but when Jesus Mary and Joseph were running to Egypt to escape the persecution of the babies, God told him to go in the cave and then then spider instantly made a web that took up the whole entrance quickly, and that’s where Christmas tinsel comes from. I did not know that because the soldiers passed at the entrance because they said no one’s been in there because of the large spiderweb! So they were saved and that’s why we put tinsel on trees before years ago

Hi Jennifer, Thank goodness Bentley is fine now. Sorry you had such a rough time with him. My dog’s vet told me that chocolate made for humans can be fatal for dogs. They do make chocolate specifically for dogs which they love and causes no harm to them. Check with your own vet to be sure. Enjoy your Holidays and best wishes for a healthy, happy new year.

We used the big black roasting pan when we were sick. I know it's gross, but in the fifties that's what we did.

My kids had a bucket…when Garrett had cancer, he moved up to a bigger bucket until we got him 2 special trash cans so he could puke in one, move it to bathroom and still have one for next to bed!
