Especially when there are free, ad-supported anime sites out there with better players out there. Hell, Crunchyroll is still using FLASH for its player for crying out loud! a lot of the free anime sites are making the switch to HTML5 and they are running a whole lot better than Crunchyroll ever would be. they are on or switching to HTML5 and quite honestly i rarely have had a playback issue. Why IN THE HELL would ANYONE pay for a service that has sub-par quality? I sure is hell would not.

I was on that forum, High Guardian spice got absolutely wrecked... I saw dozens of people cancel their subscriptions. after the controversy started to heat up, free shell accounts began appearing, unpaid users who made their accounts that day, but anything they said got voted down until it was completely removed. mostly the users were just pissed, that money they thought was going to the anime industry, and perhaps to improve the platform was getting wasted on this stupid American cartoon.... if we wanted to watch that kind of thing we did sign up for Netflix.
I thought Crunchyroll supposed to support the Japanese animation studios in making anime. So instead of improving their website to be more user friendly, give more incentives to those Japanese studios, & better features that could rival "free" anime sites, they censored a lot of stuffs & make this project literally nobody asks. +Gareth I would recommend watching it, if for nothing else than to experience an incredible story. I'd suggest preparing some chocolate for a post-movie shot of dopamine, but it's most definitely worth a watch. Underrated by far, and a great example of storytelling.

at its core, yes. Gumball puts a lot more style on top of that but it is the same low detail core. The problem is most don't build upon that and just leave it mostly at the core.
I really loved Watamote to the very last episode. Her complacency that she doesn’t need to be beautiful or popular was a great way to end the show, and an even better narrative that doesn’t directly spell out the “just be you” moral.

If you're trying to use diversity as a selling point, chances are, your passion project is gonna fall flat on its face... in the mud... during a hurricane... at peak season. Frankly, after seeing the "trailer" I sincerely doubt that, guess what? The claims about diversity and female representation? I don't give a CRAP! In fact, there are LOTS of shows that do diversity so much better. Though if I had to pick just one example, it'd have to be W.I.T.C.H. W.I.T.C.H. had a predominantly female cast consisting of Will (a girl of biracial descent), Irma (a Latina), Taranee (an African/Asian American), Cornelia (a Caucasian), and Hay Lin (a Chinese American). All five had their own strengths, weaknesses, personalities, and struggles (both external and internal). Whenever they went Guardian form, it wasn't always an easy victory for them. They won by relying on strategy and each other. Even when they reached the zenith of their power, it came at a cost that threatened to take away their humanity. However, even the male characters were just as capable and fleshed out as they were. Add on to the fact that the show, throughout its two seasons, had three basic things: A good story, good characters, and good writing. The diversity among the main cast was just icing on the cake. Unless HGS pulls off a miracle and actually displays all three of those components, it's gonna fail BIG TIME and the production crew is gonna have nobody to blame but themselves as much as they want to play the pointing fingers game. Then again, who knows? Maybe it'll surprise us all. Maybe it'll go the distance and be the next big thing. Maybe, just, *maybe*, it'll be amazing at best or decent at worst. But... let's just say there's a reason why Ghostbusters '16 failed at the box office while Wonder Woman succeeded. If this show is nothing BUT female representation and nothing else, guess what? You don't have a cake. You just have icing. Now, if y'all excuse me, I'm gonna go back to eagerly anticipating the She-Ra reboot. At least we actually SAW a trailer for it and Noelle Stevenson has some idea of what she's doing.
I honestly would not be surprised if one day in the not so distant future kids will look at you with a inquisitive face and say "whats a comment section?" Tokyo Ghoul, as shit as it was, has Touka as the most liked female character for (I'm certain) about 75% of the fans. One of the most profitable franchise ever (Fate) is undeniably popular for it's female characters. Not saying there isn't sexism in anime, but if you don't like a series then don't watch it. Third and last strike: Lied to us about paying japanese studios and hid the creation of an sjw animation studio and sjw animated series from the subscribers till last minute. Get woke, get broke! F*ck crunchyroll. My wife and I have been enjoying fansubs for the past 2 days and we don't miss CRINGYROLL (as my wife calls it now) lol. The subtitles in fansubs are way more accurate than in crunchyroll anyway. Support your local fansuber :P

Hell, Crunchyroll is still using FLASH for its player for crying out loud! a lot of the free anime sites are making the switch to HTML5 and they are running a whole lot better than Crunchyroll ever would be. they are on or switching to HTML5 and quite honestly i rarely have had a playback issue. Why IN THE HELL would ANYONE pay for a service that has sub-par quality? I sure is hell would not.

+Gareth I would recommend watching it, if for nothing else than to experience an incredible story. I'd suggest preparing some chocolate for a post-movie shot of dopamine, but it's most definitely worth a watch. Underrated by far, and a great example of storytelling.

i'm not one to judge, and i am far from being attractive myself, but when ever i see these feminized promos, i can't help but feel that the women involved have low self-esteem issues, and that they only dislike men so much because they have themselves secretly bought into the whole size zero, vogue, sexy anime fraulein lie they so publicly claim to detest... often, one needs only to look at their avatars to see how they truly wish to be perceived.

Here's the thing. If you're trying to use diversity as a selling point, chances are, your passion project is gonna fall flat on its face... in the mud... during a hurricane... at peak season. Frankly, after seeing the "trailer" I sincerely doubt that, guess what? The claims about diversity and female representation? I don't give a CRAP! In fact, there are LOTS of shows that do diversity so much better. Though if I had to pick just one example, it'd have to be W.I.T.C.H.
W.I.T.C.H. had a predominantly female cast consisting of Will (a girl of biracial descent), Irma (a Latina), Taranee (an African/Asian American), Cornelia (a Caucasian), and Hay Lin (a Chinese American). All five had their own strengths, weaknesses, personalities, and struggles (both external and internal). Whenever they went Guardian form, it wasn't always an easy victory for them. They won by relying on strategy and each other. Even when they reached the zenith of their power, it came at a cost that threatened to take away their humanity. However, even the male characters were just as capable and fleshed out as they were. Add on to the fact that the show, throughout its two seasons, had three basic things: A good story, good characters, and good writing. The diversity among the main cast was just icing on the cake.
Unless HGS pulls off a miracle and actually displays all three of those components, it's gonna fail BIG TIME and the production crew is gonna have nobody to blame but themselves as much as they want to play the pointing fingers game. Then again, who knows? Maybe it'll surprise us all. Maybe it'll go the distance and be the next big thing. Maybe, just, *maybe*, it'll be amazing at best or decent at worst. But... let's just say there's a reason why Ghostbusters '16 failed at the box office while Wonder Woman succeeded. If this show is nothing BUT female representation and nothing else, guess what? You don't have a cake. You just have icing.
Now, if y'all excuse me, I'm gonna go back to eagerly anticipating the She-Ra reboot. At least we actually SAW a trailer for it and Noelle Stevenson has some idea of what she's doing.
I honestly would not be surprised if one day in the not so distant future kids will look at you with a inquisitive face and say "whats a comment section?" I mean honestly its only a matter of time before they silence all backlash to everything they make until one day the idea of being able to check them comments and see peoples thoughts on things will be gone. Kids will watch this shit and they will never have the luxury to go into the comments to see whats really going on.

They act like there isn't entire damn shows with 100% female casts. Or 90% female casts. Hell, Kancolle is one of the most profitable series in Japan and it's 99% female. Irregular At Magic High has notable female characters, since the only reason the male MC is even relevant is because he's hardly human in the head. Tokyo Ghoul, as shit as it was, has Touka as the most liked female character for (I'm certain) about 75% of the fans. One of the most profitable franchise ever (Fate) is undeniably popular for it's female characters. Not saying there isn't sexism in anime, but if you don't like a series then don't watch it. It's like people who bitch about superhero movies. Besides that, anyone with a poor eye can call anything sexist if they're ignorant.

High Guardian Spice was is slated for summer of 2021 now after two years of delay. The only people I know looking forward to this are those who just want to see how big of a dumpster fire it'll be.
That is why I cancelled my crunchyroll subscription 2 days ago. I can't stand this sjw bullshit. My wife heard about it and she was so pissed to know we basically paid crunchyroll to create sjw propaganda, instead of paying japanese anime studios for their work.

My wife and I have been enjoying fansubs for the past 2 days and we don't miss CRINGYROLL (as my wife calls it now) lol. The subtitles in fansubs are way more accurate than in crunchyroll anyway. Support your local fansuber :P
