I'm dreading the moment when I finally find time to start my hard mode playthrough... You can be sure that I'll be looking through your guides multiple times my man. lol
I did this with this strat, the only thing that I changed was a Magic Focus materia to a Swiftcast materia - I found that the damage was not an issue it was surviving and the Swiftcast made it so I could get the Thundaga off at any time - IE as soon as White Wold powers up, or the moment I had 2 bars with Ironclad to stun it for more damage
Yeah that bastard gets me occasionally too lmao speed is your friend in this one. Especially your opener. The game doesn’t tell you this, but you can spam ATB boost while it’s saying the round number, and you’ll immediately use it if you keep spamming it. Then hit your opener immediately after. Those split seconds can make a major difference.
Same here. Repeatedly, for several fights until I realized what I was doing wrong. Once I got past it, got to the next fight only to accidentally zap myself.....sigh
I found that hitting Whit Terror with Thundaga pre-emptively made the fight way easier. I was rarely quick enough on the draw to interrupt Earsplitting Howl and kept getting wiped out by that one move. But finding an opening as soon as possible after he charges up (starts glowing/flaming) worked like a charm. It resets his power level or whatever and prevents him from casting it for a while longer, giving you more time to chip away at him, gets you close enough within staggering range that you can eat a hit or two and just whale on him until he's down
Finally got it! Thanks for the build and tips! I used Gotterdamerung for my run because I really wanted that safety Limit for the wolf. I appreciate you giving tips and general guidelines vs some other guides that try to walk you step by step for their perfect run.
Slowly working my own way toward the platinum. Focused on minigames atm. Trying to get all those behind me before buckling down to hard mode in earnest. So much hate for minigames and UPA sidequest
Yeah that ultimate party animal quest is a bastard but I got it before the patch so I’m good to go. Gotta finish hard mode chapters but after that, I’ve got the platinum.
UPA was fun imo, but lord do I agree with you for the mini games needed for platinum… Costa Del Sol boat mini game and Jules are the only mini games I genuinely hate!
Woohoo! Your guide got me through this no problem after trying so many times. It's just a matter of getting the timing right with white terror and NOT forgetting Manawall against the giant. Other than that piece of cake!
On vacation next week and think i'm finally ready to dive into hard mode. Though i'd like to get the last side quest done but, haven't figured how to unlock it. It just says unlock conditions not met... Which idk what i've missed.... all Chadley regional data missions are done... all side quest are done other than this one... Beat the shadow blood queen... beat Gilgamesh... what did i not do?
Don’t stand anywhere in front of him for any reason. Try to stay on that right hip. I know it can be hard because he’s constantly turning, but he doesn’t 180 immediately when casting those, so dodge back around him as soon as possible. You can kinda dodge under his arms as he’s loading up the attack but don’t get caught in them. Timing is everything.
@@Soldier1stClass lifesaver, got him! Got lucky he healed me with a firaga when i was almost dead and had to use Stop twice to let me build up Prime Mode stagger. Liked and subbed, sir 🫡
I swear, White Terror casts Earsplitting Howl so early in the fight that I can't cast Thundaga quickly enough. I've seen many comments in other guides suggesting that enemies were buffed in the latest patch without it being mentioned in the patch notes, because I'm following the videos exactly. I'm using your exact build with Gotterdamerung instead of Genji Gloves, but I see you're pressuring faster and dealing more HP damage than I am. Do you think it's possible they really did buff these enemies?
It’s possible but typically Square hasn’t done much with their games in way of patches besides their obvious ones like XIV and stuff. The original Remake only got a patch so it was playable on PS5. So I’m honestly not sure. It’s possible, but idk.
I am very close to rage quitting the game soley because of this solo fight with the white terror. Truly ridiculous, you make one mistake with the earsplitting howl and it is basically over. If the fight has to become so technical it is just not fun.
You get behind him and stay away from him. It has an AOE effect in his direct hit box, so you want to be away from the blade and from his body or you’ll catch a stray hit from it.
Don’t dodge it, back away from it. Unfortunately this game doesn’t have the same type of I-Frames you get in souls games, so dodging is almost pointless besides hitting the aerial launch and getting behind enemies quickly.
@@the121smashchampion so I just get farther back from him. Dodging in this game doesn’t really have I frames. You pretty much have to avoid the whole attack or you eat the attack even if clipped. I try to stay behind him as much as possible and when he goes for that I just back away from him.
@@Soldier1stClass this works. And yeah if you get airborne prior to the attack coming he won't lock on as well as he does when you're on the ground. Working on it noe
@@Soldier1stClass Finally got it! And got it CLEAN buddy. For the iron clad, that dodge move into going airborne REALLY helps against the thanatosian blade. I'll upload the video to my YT as a reference. But feeling super accomplished thanks for the tips
So I tried your exact guide the exact way and everything is exact exact exact and I'm still losing one hit wonders one hit one hit I'm dead this is not helpful 1 ⭐ I can't get past that white wolf SOB. I did manawa I fight I dodged I do everything and I still lose. At this point I'm willing to cash app anyone the maximum amount of money to win for me 😢 😭 whatever happened to "fun" in games
@@Soldier1stClass No it’s fine. I used your Queen Bee strat to max my materia, thanks by the way. I don’t have all the other stuff tho. What is the point of fighting these guys if you’re already maxed out is what I’m saying
Where do we use the stuff/things/abilities etc to beat them so we can get the good stuff. I’ve been dying over and over on brutal cloud. Best I can get is 4/5.
Yeah it’s ok lmao it’s a tough fight. The maxed materia usage is because these are more for challenge runs instead of being for any other reason. They expect you to go in with maxed materia because the challenge is that tough. I actually beat these before doing hard mode, and that’s what feels like the intended order. Because the rewards for Rulers of the Outer Worlds is the Gotterdammerung, and that’s a game changer in Hard Mode.
I'm not convinced you actually beat the Ironclad with this build, because you don't show it and there is no defense for his Graviga attack reducing you to 1 HP. It feels like this build would need a couple extra materia slots to work without Gotterdamung (e.g., Heal, ATB Stagger, etc.) My time was also 10 minutes upon losing to Ironclad; there's no way you did this in 5 minutes without Gotterdamung.
The very end of the video is me defeating ironclad. None of these fights had me begin with a full limit bar, so I clearly don’t have the Gotterdammerung equipped. There are also people in this very comments section that have completed this with my build. Keep in mind, I had already beaten this a few times for this video when I recorded that time too, so it was my most efficient time. Different people, different play styles, different efficiency, and it’s easy have different finish times. Thundaga is how you get health back no matter how little HP you have, and his firaga will also help heal. I wouldn’t make a guide I hadn’t completed myself.
@@Soldier1stClass For this Cloud legendary, I ended up completing it with more or less your build (I remember I swapped out something for a Chakra), but it took me about 3-4 hours. Not worth it without Gotterdamung. Certainly not an "EASY" strat.

Save Thundaga for when he turns red. He’ll exit out of the phase if you hit him with a thundaga.

6.41 is to complete. Amazing guide. I did use swift cast though
Congrats on the W!
Why not use rune blade? It's stats seem to be higher for magic build.
For magic yeah, slipstream is more well rounded, so you’re getting damage from both sources. Especially since prime mode is a large part of this
Damn Manawall. Had everything else but that was the misisng link.
Thanks for the bad ass guide. Took me 2 tries man!

Just saying for the third fight he wasn’t using the same build from the video
So I found out I have no idea how to use prime mode. Learning time
Prime mode is incredible and pretty useful at almost all times!

3 tries cause of that stupid wolf. Use maxed out swiftcast instead of magic focus. Great guide.
