That was great. I loved watching your right hand at the start and how easily you went from pick to fingers and back. Thats a Homeskoolin lesson right there. Thank you
Beautiful! My wife and I just returned to Maine last night from a month long road trip around the Southeast. A highlight was seeing you, Guthrie, Jedd and crew at The Basement. That was pure Nashville at its best, even for two 71 year olds. Talking with George Gruhn in his shop was another treat. Thanks man.
Amazing, melting my brain with those finger uncle Larry. I've had a song I've been going back and forth about fingers or pick and couldn't decide, then these last 2 videos has shown me the way to go for both and its exactly what it needed. Thanks so much for sharing this and the breakdown of chords and structures. So much education in such an awesome format
Gawd, hope you and the boys do this one. Totally get the NYC vibe...can picture rain soaked streets at night...cinematic to be sure. And I have learned a lot about how the process of collaboration can work. Thanks so much Tom.
Love how different guitars lead in different directions. That's some righteous Strat work! Always great to see a new video from Uncle Larry when I come home from work!
I found some time ago from listening to you, that I found myself with my head bobbin' and feeling the rhythm almost every time you play. I make it a goal when I am playing for just a person or two in my music room - I look to see if I can get their head bobbin' or foot tappin' - if I have done that - I would do you proud. You are awesome man.
I love those changes! Sweet! FWIW: I gigged at The Bitter End my first visit to NYC with a band. It was a while ago, 1987. We also played a super hip place that's gone now called Nirvana Club One. Unforgettable. Looking forward to seeing y'all in Chicago. I bought a ticket this morning ; )
Straight from Larry‘s engine room. Fantasmic. A glimpse on how his musical mind, heart and hands work. If the New Yorkians don‘t get it, come over to good ole Germany, please. We have plenty of trees.
"excuse the intrusion" That was pure gold! Intrude all you like! . BTW, I definitely relate to the somberness of lacking trees; I hadn't ever really put my finger on it, until your post, but thinking back, it has always been a very real feeling to me.
Glad you guys are having so much fun playing together…I have mixed feelings about sharing you all with New York and Chicago. Kind of like you being exclusive with the hometown crowd. A little slice of musical genius for us here in good ol’ Tennessee.
You know your real talent above all else is how you seem to effortlessly compose great musical tunes with great melodies and chords. Good luck on your gig.Much love from NC.
It's getting cold up here in Canada but damn.. that playing and tone was on fire! 🔥That last half was such a cool burning bluesy thing which was as great to watch as it was to listen to. Great stuff.
Class tune, hope it makes it to Plexi Soul II. Excited for the live stream, you guys are going to crush! 🤟🏻 Also that B Section is so cool, love the constant shape so the sound is common but the movement and chord change is magic. Such a good idea for us skoolers to steal 😅
This sounds amazing. If anyone from the UK wants to fly out on a private jet, attend the gig, and have a great night out then please get in touch. You will need to have tickets to the gig and have access to a private jet, otherwise we won’t be able to attend. Looking forward to it.
what perfect vibe and sound for a wet and chilly dat here in Warm Springs, Ga. great stuff dude! didn't really know you composed so very cool find. Great comment by Zereiland "great seeing how the sausage is made".
I think u (and "in stereo" and "trip the witch") are getting me out of my writing funk iv been in from having to play weddings every damn week, thank u bro
Very tasty changes and licks Tom! Hope to hear it next week. Making the trip from Ottawa 🇨🇦 for the Wednesday night show. I recall that you mentioned in an earlier video that the first show of a multi-night run is typically the best, but hopefully there’s plenty of magic to be heard even after opening night.
I'm gonna do my homework, even though I don't qualify for the final exam. May I add - watching this makes me want a good Strat. I thought I was a Tele guy but now I'm questioning the whole thing. I've only owned an "ok" Strat. I think a good one is in my future. The tones - fat and plinky and doinky and warm. Yeah.
Uncle Larry! Can you share with us - who’s an artist you’ve worked with in 2024 who has surprised you? Anyone we should look out for? We’re all very excited to hear the finish products of teasers you’ve shared. Hope you’re well.
Dang Tom.. your Bitter End NYC tickets are sold out.. I would have played hooky from work and drove down from Montreal for ya! Have a great gig man 🤘🏾✊🏾✌🏾

VCB QUESTION: Uncle Larry, whats at the top of the list of things intermediate guitar players should do but usually don’t?
Turn off the Reverb

Righty-O Maaaaaaaate!! This is gonna be fun shit!
Thanks for doing this! Can’t wait to hear what comes back. Jedd just mentioned it from the shed.
Beyond psyched for the show. Love seeing how the sausage is made. See you Tues!
Those little switches between picking and fingerpicking are so smooth
I was watching that earlier. Thought he's like a magician making that pick appear and dissappear!
Thank you for sharing this. Breaking new ground here for the viewers and its much appreciated.
Another gem, contagiously creative.
Offerings like this from Uncle Larry are a sure sign that Christmas is just around the corner....

100k guitar players + Guthrie and Jedd, now learning this awesome tune. 😂
Righteously cool...definite George Harrison vibe recalling his love of 'the naughty chords'...can't wait to hear the full band. Bravo!
The new to you strat seems to be quite the inspiration, and the universe is better because of that.
Got my ticket last night for the livestream of your opening show at The Bitter End on 11/19. Really looking forward to it!!

Hell yeah, this Tritone between the B and the F in the first two chords. That immediatelly draws you into this tune.

You know your real talent above all else is how you seem to effortlessly compose great musical tunes with great melodies and chords. Good luck on your gig.Much love from NC.
Great tune! That single note line reminded me of George Harrison. Please come to San Francisco.
Thanks for the lesson, friend!
That moment when you thought you were in school, but you’re actually just getting schooled. Damn that outro was awesome.
You are my favourite artist writer whatever the best thank you

Learned it!! Gladly play 2nd guitar for you all night!!! Thanks for the continued inspiration Uncle Larry.
Jamming to this on my 90-lake placid blue US strat after a long day at the slave pit feels so good!! Thanks Tom!!
Yess , what a banger of a tune. Please post when played with the band.
It's getting cold up here in Canada but damn.. that playing and tone was on fire! 🔥That last half was such a cool burning bluesy thing which was as great to watch as it was to listen to. Great stuff.

Ps: don't smoke, kids
All I do is smoke weed
Class tune, hope it makes it to Plexi Soul II. Excited for the live stream, you guys are going to crush! 🤟🏻
