Some Muslims countries shows prophet depiction and I actually seen prophet isa alaihis salam depiction when I was a 13 year old after that whenever I thought of isa alaihis salam then the actor picture used to come in mind which was very wrong and that's why it is forbidden to depict prophets but you can depict prophet companions.@@loocaz1789

its a great movie indeed , it was released in 1976
unfortunately the director Mustapha Akkad and his daughter were killed in an explosion in a hotel in Jordan in 2005 and then he was buried in his hometown Aleepo in Syria ( may his soul rest in peace)

I was 10 when i first watched this movie. The goosebumps were all over. The depiction is top notch. And the respect towards PROPHET MUHAMMAD PBUH by not having any voice or any person portraying him.

I watched this movie back in Pakistan at the theater in the late 70s. To this date, if you ask me my favorite movies of all time, The Message comes up in the Top 3 in a heartbeat.

In the movie when the prophet is around or they are talking to him in the movie they play this time of music.. to let you know he is there you will hear that sound.
I suggest you watch the whole movie , it's epic with the best actors of the time!
It’s really old I remember watching it when I was a kid. The 4k version is celebrating its 40th Anniversary.
It’s a definite must see, but honestly, so much has been omitted in the film. There’s only so much you can put into a three hour movie. I highly recommend reading the Seerah of the Prophet book or start listening to episodes of the Seerah of the Prophet podcast to get comprehensive picture of the life of the Prophet SAW.
The film is older than that! They just made the picture newer/clearer that’s why it said 2017. This was made back in 70’s I remember watching this as a child,(I’m in my 50’s now)

We do not show the prophet pbuh face & due to this, they tend to do when the prophet(pbuh) say something, they’ll get one of the characters to speak & say “the prophet said this…” or if it’s an action, they get one of the characters to say “the prophet told to do this.,” etc
Leading an army, the prophet pbuh is always in the forefront, but coz u won’t b able to see him, they will get a character to take his place.
By showing they r talking to the prophet they will face a camera & the camera will move (to indicate it’s the prophet pbuh is moving) etc.
It’s a great movie a great message. Recommend to watch.

In this movie too remember its a very old movie, the makers did respect the feelings of muslim community and did not show the Prophet Muhammad PBUH. But this movie is definetly required in this time for people to watch.

There is a newer Version also really good. Called Omar. It is a series on Shahid
'The Message' was premiered originally in 1977 and the latest, 'Muhammad the Messenger of God' was premiered in 2015.
Han and Kelly, I also strongly recommend that you watch the Umar Series which is about 30 episodes and is far more detailed than the Message. You guys will definitely enjoy the series and most importantly you will learn a lot about the prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and his message.
Monte cristo got me, but it’s worth it to watch.

This movie is beautifully filmed.
It does no depict the Prophet Muhammad(Pbuh) but the camera shows the incidents though first person view as if you are seeing the event through eyes of Prophet Muhammad(SAW).

I can't believe people are still suggesting the Message. The show Umar ecliped it and is pretty much the updated version with more detailed. I personally don't know anyone that would suggest watching something in 480p when you have access to v2.0 in HD. Bear with the translations. It's worth it!
Yea true, but this movie is still brilliant & it’s a movie, so one watch, Omar is brilliant but 30 episodes, it’s a long one & it’s in Arabic with English subs. But for non Muslims when u want to know bout Islam, The Message is the one that gives u a good recap of Islam.

This movie has an Arabic version, which is the best in terms of acting. I advise you to watch the Arabic version with subtitles, it is the best.
