My dog of 15 years passed a few weeks ago. I’m devastated and still crying nightly. I don’t know what it is about the dream wave community, but there are always so many happy and positive comments. As if as we all understand nostalgia can be used to lift us up too. That feeling we get when listening can help push out the sadness and stress, and flood us with memories of when we were younger, freer, and without the stresses of the real world.

It’s the little stuff you realize you miss the most. The daily rituals. The mundane. I’d kill to have it back for a day. To see her big brown eyes again. Thank you again for the empathy. If there’s one thing I’ve seen on RUclips, people come out of the woodwork to support those who;ve lost a loved pet. Tell me a bit about your doggo. I bet he was VEYR handsome.
@@lettersfromtheleft Hey man. My dog was a Labrador / Shepherd mix, so very agile, very smart and he loved to play (especially with balls and in the water). He was a very fast swimmer. Very friendly to my two Kids in the last years. When my Kids were born, he grew old and I actully forgot him a bit because you know, little kids are keeping you busy. Nonetheless my kids loved him and only could share 5 and 2 years with him together. I adopted him from the animal shelter 12 years ago. He had a wonderful life, i bet like your corgi. I hope both of our dogs are safe out there, waiting to be petted again.
And yes, noone is standing behind me when I open the refrigerator. No one who greets me when I come home. I dont walk around my house now, cause I have no reason. No dog bowl on the floor anymore. I cry a lot too, but trust me, it gets better day by day. One day you will laugh when you remember him and thats the goal. Cheers
@@debreed85 It’s funny man… my wife and I got so used to always having a living vacuum in the kitchen that when we spilled or dropped anything while making meals we’d just say, “clean up!” and my little Elizabeth would come running in to dutifully clean up whatever we dropped. It’s been a month now. A few days ago a small carrot rolled off the counter and hit the floor. Instinctually I said, “clean up!” And after a moment, i just absolutely lost it. Just felt like I was hit by a Mack Truck. Took me a few hours to really get myself together again. I’m glad your kids got a chance to know your doggo. Kids always have a special bond with dogs. They can still see the world in the same way, something we just can’t anymore as adults. It’s magical. If there is something else out there, I’m sure they’re out there playing together. Dogs truly are the best thing humans ever came up with on this planet. Just truly magical creatures. Take care man, I’ll keep my chin up. :)
