Before you comment: - *I use Sakuzyo - Revenger for those who asked what music I'm using in Astrageldon Phase 2* for video (Too many people asked for this despite it's in video description....). - The video is rather old (1.3 tmod) so there could be huge boss change in 1.4. - Astrageldon can be summoned with Astral Communicator (Dropped by Ascended Astral Slime) and it can be fought as long as you're in Hardmode world but you can't fight if you had ever killed moon lord in your world. - Phase 1 decreased your flight time by 25% while Phase 2 of the boss gives infinite flight time.
- Astrageldon slimers in phase 2 will inflict you debuff and then instakills you if you get hit after 3rd stack (instantly kills you if you use rod of discord in debuff duration). In malice, it instakills you in a single hit. Also have a great time in this boss.
This mod has officially set the bar through the roof and should be the gold standard of all mods. If Calamity is finally finished and the dev team feel like it, they should really do something of this caliber for at least their major bosses. Supreme Calamitas and Yharim specifically.
This looks better than their actual final boss, visuals and sounds, gameplay and challenge, it's all so beautiful It also looks hard af, which of course, mad props for dodging it all the way to the end, you're a true danmaku master, sir
@@kozolith2121 When you really think about it a lot of bosses are kind of just rehashed versions of certain bosses. Imo the really standout unique bosses in Calamity are probably Perforators and Supreme Calamitas. Oh and Ceaseless Void.

that was probably the most epic bossfight I've ever seen, I'd probably prefer this over any bossfight in calamity, it looks pretty difficult but still looks cool and would probably be pretty fun instead of "wtf is this bossfight get me out of here just die so I can fight something else please" which is usually how I feel about some of the calamity fights

i was just about to say that this boss doesnt look too difficult (not undermining the nohit, thats still very impressive), and then phase 2 happens... congrats on the nohit!
i fought this boss in my calamity death mode with my friend and this boss is nightmarish, compared to later bosses like dragonfolly and profaned guardians its still way harder, extremely fun fight but the difficulty is like crazy.
Honestly it's mad that you actually did this pre moon lord, I just killed it pre moon lord and then killed astra egain with the cosmic scissors when doing a no-hit
i have a few questions about the part at the end where you showed you had no godmode: does astrageldon just instantly disappear when you die? why did the camera move a few pixels when you died? does astrageldon not deal any damage during the spawn animation?
@@Pins30 alright, 1st one makes sense for the 2nd, look closely, it moves a few pixels up and to the right as for the third, you only died when astrageldon landed, there was one frame where you would have taken damage (unless the hitboxes are just broken)
Just beaten it. It's a hard boss. It's so hard infact that I felt like me and the Astralgeddon at some point started to respect each other's dedication.
I hope calamity reworks their bosses, i think we are going in the right direction with the rework of the biome blade, with the amount of content reworking bosses and other stuff will take a while so just have to wait

Next update will allow you to fight astrageldon in post-ml only you had ever beat astrageldon pre-ml. But you are no longer use post-ml character that haven't beat astrageldon if you try to jump to pre-ml world
This mod literally focuses on ONE boss alone, for now. While Calamity adds 27 bosses, 12 mini bosses, more than 1000 items and much more. I'm not trying to say the Catalyst mod isn't good, this boss looks fantastic! I just wanted to make this quick reminder, people are ungrateful as hell.
Seems cool but… why can it only be fought before Moon Lord? That just seems like an unnecessary restriction that makes world-hopping necessary to refight what seems like a fun boss. It’s especially bad because Calamity has a lot of post-ML content, so you can’t have that and Astrageldon in the same world.

For balancing, having Astrageldon be available after Moon Lord would destroy the boss' challenge and intended progression. Astrageldon is supposed to be an optional, end-of-hardmode challenge for experienced players that provides powerful, tier-skipping rewards if you can beat it. If it was available during this part of the game, then the vast majority of players would wait until later to fight the boss with stronger gear, ignoring intended progression and thwarting the challenge. There must be something in place to prevent players from waiting and locking the boss does just that. Then why not just buff the boss after Moon Lord is defeated? While this would technically work, this would create a slew of balancing problems that are easily avoidable with just locking the boss. We'd much rather dedicate our time creating and polishing other content than entering balancing hell when we can avoid it. For mod identity, Catalyst is intended to be a new game+ addon for Calamity in the same way other games have this feature. A new game+ means that you play through the game again, but with new extra features that weren't previously there. Limited time hidden bosses/superbosses are a prominent feature in a new game+, and as such Catalyst has a similar mechanic. Phase 1 seems hard enough for daybreak while phase 2 did faster than most weapon but maybe DoT and it's own dmg (Damaging over Time) made it faster than it should. But somehow daybreak p2 killtime in malice is faster that without malice + i don't want to do 2nd cycle shotgun attack due rng intense

Why did you use the daybreak? Surely nearly any other pillar weapon would have been better for this, especially the vortex beater?
Astrageldon has a bunch of resistances. Daybreak is unironically one of the better options due to how his defense system works.
