Longplay of Brave Fencer Musashi (in Japan called Bureivu Fensā Musashiden, literally "Brave Fencer: The Legend of Musashi") is an action RPG developed and published by Square (now Square Enix) in 1998 for PlayStation.
The kingdom of Allucaneet always been a peaceful and quiet. Everything changes when the neighboring kingdom Thirstquencher is taken by Flatski. The vile character declares himself emperor and proceeds to attack and dominate neighboring territories. Fillet, Princess of Allucaneet, decides to make a desperate maneuver: perform a ritual to invoke the hero of the old stories. Musashi, a young swordsman, is then transported to where Allucaneet need to find five elementals seals and save the inhabitants of the kingdom of the Thirstquencher Empire.
The protagonist (inspired in the famous samurai of the Tokugawa era, Miyamoto Musashi, creator of the fighting style Niten Ichi Ryu) have two swords: Fusion is a katana with quick attacks in succession. Musashi can also launch it against enemies and absorb their abilities, something needed to solve some puzzles and participate in minigames. Lumina is a long sword, slow but very powerful, who earns special attacks as their seals are broken.
These good game involves real-time combat in a 3D environment, and features voice overs for most dialogue. This run includes all special techniques, all Minkus collected (gave 25 hp each), all Bincho Fields broken (5 BP each)! Special thanks to great friend Dark Fulgore, your video helped me greatly for this longplay was possible to be done. ;) -

I'm kind of sad that I never finished this game as a child...
i haven't finished too..
same here..
me too man.... me too!! XC XC XC!!
Me too, thats why I finished it 4 years ago as an adult
On ps1
Me too, dude. It was a birthday gift to me from my Dad who's been gone for a few years now. I was messing with isos and emulators but can't find one that seems to work properly so I just said screw it and bought the disc copy for my ps3.
I remember my childhood, I play this and the final fantasy, dinocrisis , castle vania and resident evil. lol! I miss my childhood
Seriously, Watching this video.. I think it took me half a year as a kid to get to the point you get after 3 hours
I remember having a demo of this. I loved this game so glad I found this.
I just bought this from EBay, like new copy. I can't believe I finally own this classic, used to rent this all the time from Blockbuster but never got the chance to buy it back in the day.....until now of course🎉👍😃👍🎊
I had the demo disc with this on it! One of the old PS Underground ones! Aaaaah memories
Games like these give you a feeling that most games now a days do not. I wouldn't call it entirely immersion, but when you play a game it makes you feel a certain way.
It's called childhood if you played it as a kid. Then we experience the nostalgia. Games today probably make kids feel the same way, if they're playing the light hearted types of games. Doubt they get the feeling when playing battlefield or something. XD
Imagine being too stupid to understand that things always feel more impressive when you're a kid.
Just as movies and music have evolved over time, so did games. There was something different about the games back then, something good. It's hard to explain what it was but I think it really comes down to the fact that there was still a lot of room for innovation. The developers were more passionate because it was still all so exciting and new, and the technology was improving in leaps and bounds. This same passion seems to be lost on a lot of titles that we see today, mostly AAA ones, which is a shame because the AAA titles often have the budget to create something truly spectacular that we've never seen before. I imagine this is partially due to the "leaps and bounds" in technology that we see today, there's hardly any difference between the previous gen and the current gen consoles, it's not nearly as exciting. Then you take into consideration how much money is involved with video games and how mainstream they've become, and you realize why these companies do whatever is popular and remaster whatever has already been proven to work. Complaints aside, I still love a lot of modern games, DotA 2 is the most fun I've ever had in a video game, so it's not all bad.
Speaking on nostalgia, people like to act like nostalgia is the sole factor in why older games are so dear to us. It's stupid to think that nostalgia is the only factor at play here, it's stupid to think that the video game industry hasn't changed, it's stupid to think that games have only gotten better as time has gone by.
Throwing the steam giants wrecking ball back at it after you defeat it in the games demo sold me on it. Bought it and became one of my favorite games growing up. Such a gem!
FINALLY! Someone (xRavenXP) DOES a longplay of one of my favorite Playstation games! I'm so happy!
Thank you! You're welcome! ;)
This is one of my all-time favorite PlayStation One games! It's so fun and it has such a phenomenal soundtrack!

recolllecting my child memories 😢😢 still better than most of the games today
An absolute hidden jem of a game.
this looks amazing can't believe i never heard of it :O
I remember having a mod chipped ps1 and me and my family were trying to play and it just kept showing a black screen. 20 years later I finally remembered the name of the game and had to fine gameplay of it.
A boy known as Musashi, reincarnated from the legendary Brave Fencer Musashi who saved the Allucaneet Kingdom from a monster called the Wizard of Darkness 150 years before, is summoned to Allucaneet by its ruler Princess Fillet to save it from the invading Thistquencher Empire. Musashi is given the blade Fusion, and is charged with the task of obtaining Brave Fencer Musashi's sword-Lumina, The Sword of Luminescene-before the Thirsquencher Army does. Although Musashi has no intention of saving the kingdom, he agrees to do so in order to return to his homeland. After Musashi recovers Lumina, he finds that most of the people from the Allucaneet kingdom, including Fillet, have been kidnapped by the Thirstquencher Empire. In order to rescue all the residents from Allucaneet and defeat the Empire, Musashi starts searching for the Five Scrolls; each one holding an elemental power able to greatly augment the sword Lumina's powers.
Hopefully Squarenix back this amazing game
Judging the brutally horrible "sequel" they made for the PS2, I'd rather have Square Enix going bankrupt. That, or we get Squaresoft back, which is likely impossible.
All, literally ALL games and series Square Enix touched which were from Squaresoft got butchered and shittified beyond hope. Even Kingdom Hearts.
was introduced to a psx with this game by a friend whose name i do not remember but probably long gone from my state by now lol
great introduction
18:50 too awesome. i'll never forget this game!
Drop a like if the steam room mission gave you so much anxiety AND was completely unneccessary, but you were glad it was over.
*Pete townshend slide* FUCK YES!
Istuki/Izzy from Digimon is voicing Musashi!
90's anime tropes/dubbing left and right!
Zelda like action RPG with better RPG elements!
WOAH JUMP!
This is my favorite Game of all time, I'd like to welcome all of those unfamiliar to BRAVE FENCER MUSASHI
This game had THE BEST intro ever.
the last few times i played this game i realized the hub world Grillin Village reminds me alot of the simplicity of downtown Williston Florida and downtown Bronson Florida anyone who has lived in or regularly visited these parts of Levy County could relate.
"Whoaa!
JUMP!"
this game is super duper nostalgic , damn!! the environment , soundract even low graphics its so cool , this game change my day feeling like im in paradise since im child , this presence is so phenomenon , i never explain my feelings , I miss my childhood 😭 memories bring back 🌈🌈🌈⭐🌌
From the isometric side view, Musashi has a Sonic The Hedgehog - style hairdo. LOL.
Damn so this is the game!! I only remember his hair and the rock/head falling down and following him oh good times..
8 hours of Brave Fencer Musashi? Shit, I don't have anything better to do.
"You little turd!" Some of the funniest dialogue I've seen, and the voice acting was great for the kind of game it was representing.
Sigh... back in a time when Square actually knew what they were doing. Time will tell if their recent ambitions with Final Fantasy XV and VIIR will pay off and if they can reclaim the glamour and charm they once had.
Square literally died with the formation of Square Enix. They ruint each and every series they had. Kingdom Hearts included, went into absolute low-quality shit mode in multiple aspects with every game in the series after the very first one.
Square makes some of the highest quality games on the market. Y'all are smokin the dust.
i really want to finish this game. damn
Damn I loved this game.
FINALLY someone got my request!
the game today, just a graphic
the game old day means everything meaningfull
This is my childhood!
I was 13 when this game came out, and the only reason I bought it was to get the final fantasy 8 playable demo that came with it.
Btw im 32 now
Just watching now 15 July 2020..

The song in 6:00 is amazing! ^^ A masterpiece
I still have it in my playlist for more than 8 years
irfanburningowl Yeah ^^ Definetely! I've actually had it since 2006 and that makes it 8 years too! ^^
Brave Fencer Musashi really have great songs, one of my favorites is in Twin Mountains. This game songs have a tons of oriental melodies and some rock'n roll tons! ;)
Will listen to Twin Mountains now ^^
***** Twin Mountains is my favorite song of this game!
Cant find why on the part where the head of lumina tower is falling and Musashi runs "WHOA JUMP!" the music does not play... every video I see emulated doesnt have music. Been trying to fix this but maybe it cant be done without deep costumization on audio plugins or something.
+Demaeter Use a more accuracy emulator Bizhawk 1.11.1 version! I played the game in PSXJin because was only option to me to record PSX games, now we have Bizhawk to record and this is better than PSXJin
that song is recorded in redbook audio
I Love this game...bring my memoriess to me
Playstation's Zelda.
This game reminds me of Christmas, Edd Ed n' Eddy, PowerPuff Girls, Dexters Lab, 2 Stupid Dogs, Abe's Exodus.
13:25 has no audio... That's an emulation issue I had which I didn't on the actual onsole with my actual game.
The duckstation emulator remedies that problem. Also, it has geometry correction so the graphics wont wobble and warp.
Alundra 2, Brave fencer Musashi, Lunar series, Breath of fire IV, thousand arms, star ocean. If you are an anime fans, psx is the best console ever.
bom demais saudade mano hehe
Speak English Toshi!
Make him.
Ahhhhh. The golden years of square, before the rpg landscape changed. Now Square is just barely keeping up, and rpgs are no longer a profitable genre. Damn I miss good rpgs like this.
same gunshot sound from MetaL SLug series
I have this game and, I don't finish it. At all and try to figure it out, While, I go along as I go.
Where can I find a reliable iso file for this game? The one I was using just fades to a black screen and doesn't go any further after I finish fixing Steamwood.
How on earth did they get the idea to censor the drunk by making him a pork chop addict? In what universe does that make sense? .;
In Brave Fencer Musashi´s.
in the E versus T rating universe
Isekai story before it become mainstream
90's anime logic, remember all the foaming "Water" from tenchi?
village at night i believe at 36:32
why doesn't the audio of this have any reverb like the soundtrack cd does?
I see you have the same rendering glitches that I have with my emulator.
Gue pernah main game ini sejak gue umur 8 tahun kelas 2 SD
omg such a great game!
I didn't know Naota did video game voice acting?
I want a petition to have Game Grumps play through this.
What's the music at 33:15-35:54? Having trouble finding it on the soundtrack.
stuck at 7:22 because i cant read english and just give up the game aaahhhh memorieeeeeeeeess
Hey at least you can write in English!
Great game!
The only reason I bought this game back in the day was because it had a demo disc of Final Fantasy 8 lmaooo. Best decision I ever made though, game is a claaaasic
A versão japonesa vinha com o demo de ff8. Boas lembranças.
I bought this game in 1998 just for the FFVIII démo 😆
Onde consigo com legenda em portugues ou espanhol pelo menos ?
I attempted to emulate this on my psp, but it never worked. I've only ever played a demo
Mona Marshall is the voice of Musashi.
I still can't figure out why PS1 is PSX.

I'm disappointed watching this play through how much dialogue you're skipping 😔 that was my favorite part, getting to know each character.

@@THEREALGAMEMASTER-gz5xg Not me. I just want a re-release of this game.
