      @@nishantsahoo3225 Not really. Imagine if you didnt revise for your mocks which is the majority of your evidence you got for your final grade.
      Half of the people dont revise for their mocks and are like 'its not the real thing whatever'.
      So they ended up failing their mocks.
      This was then presented as their final grade, a fail, thats why there was a lot of problems for the 2020 exams.
      For 2021 I would rather of not taken my exams as now people can do well in their mocks and get a good grade, if they cancel the gcses.

    I know my grade isn’t that impressive but I got a 5 overall in my science mocks. I got a 7 in physics, a 4 in biology and I did awful in chemistry and got a 2 but that isn’t surprising when I didn’t have a chemistry teacher for two years. However, I truly believe I can pass science purely because of your amazing videos I got two grades above my target:)

    I read on Khan Academy that the spot that travels farthest was most attracted to the mobile phase, because the different substances in the mixture’s composition are attracted to the stationary and mobile phases in different proportions, causing them to move at different rates up through the paper. That's different to what you said just before 2:46 . I'm a bit confused, could you explain please?

    hi, i have 2 questions and btw i have a bio and chem assesment in a week (im a gcse student) and ur videos are really helping, thanks. 1- when will the gcse videos be finished. 2- when are the revision guides coming out. 3- are the revision guides for new gcses. 4- when will all gcse videos be up. thanks in an advance

    • @Freesciencelessons
      @Freesciencelessons  8 лет назад +2

      Thanks for the comment. Here's the answers to your questions.
      1. All the GCSE videos for the current (outgoing) spec are finished. The videos for the new specification will be finished over the next twelve months. I think that answers question 4 as well.
      2. The revision guides link to the videos so I'll roll them out every few months (the first one should be around Christmas). They won't be free but they won't be expensive.
      3. The revision guides will be for the new specification.
      Hope that's ok. Good luck with your assessments.

    Hi sir, I am currently in y11 and am trying to revise for paper 2. I am trying to write a method for this practical, and I was wondering whether I need to specify how to find the midpoint of each spot (i.e do you specify to find half of the spot’s vertical height using a ruler). Thanks for all of your videos, they have really helped me revise.

    • @Freesciencelessons
      @Freesciencelessons  Год назад +2

      I cannot predict exactly what the examiners will accept but I would say that it's worth specifying how to determine the midpoint (at least that way, you've been specific). Best wishes for paper 2.

      Hi and thanks for the comment. You'll find videos covering all of the topics in the old GCSE spec (around 300 videos). Look through the playlists on my channel and you'll find what you need. If anything says 9-1, then that's for the new spec but there are only about 20 videos for that.

    • @50hzking81

      It depends on the solvent being used. For example, If a substance is not soluble in water(solvent) It wouldn't move up because it doesn't dissolve in water, trying with another solvent may work!

  • @raihana788
    @raihana788 5 лет назад

    I have a question;when there are two dots on the chromatography paper that means it is an impure substance and whenever there is only one dot and closer to the pencil line it is a pure insoluble substance.id hope you see this soon as I have a chemistry test in one of the following day

    • @Freesciencelessons
      @Freesciencelessons  6 лет назад

      Yes both of those points are correct. However, for the second point, if there is only one dot and closer to the line then that means a pure substance which is LESS soluble. If it was completely insoluble then it would simply not run up the paper.
