I’ve never understood how these streaming services get away with paying the artists nothing, all the while reaping huge profits. I thinks it’s one of the reasons music is shit now. I have Spotify but I do my part by going to my favorite artists websites and buying a CD or download directly from them. A couple times the band even autographed it which was a nice surprise. I go to shows when I can as well. Something needs to change for sure.
Artists paint or sculpt. Musicians make sounds and noise. It's different. Musicians and singers should be proud of their craft but not call themselves artists. Next thing rap clowns and DJ's will call themselves artists, same with the play actors in Hollywood. A slippery slope.
