I was originally from the area around BTK and the big reason he got away with it and why his wife didn’t know was because he portrayed himself very well. He was a Boy Scout leader, a church member - even a deacon of that, and worked in good looking jobs and owned his own home, etc. His daughter has come out to say that there were hints that something was off, but that was only looking back on it. Oh and the letters themselves didn’t get him caught. He was toying with the cops and media because he’d grown bored. He didn’t know much about technology (thank God) and at one point he asked the cops (in his own little creepy ways since it was never face to face anything) if they could figure out where he was based on the letter. If I remember right, he was trying to send the letter through the church’s computer and of course the cops lied and said “No we can’t figure out where it might have been sent from”. Obviously they were lying and the downfall went pretty quick as soon as he’d sent the letter believing the cops were telling him the truth. I have a sibling that works in his prison and they are too young to remember him, that sibling came home saying how pitiful he looked (he’s dying and in a wheel chair now) but that he still always insists on BTK and not Dennis. When they came home and said all this, we quickly had to explain why he was terrifying to a lot of people still to this day. Hell, I wasn’t alive during his reign of terror but I was when he “returned”, I was almost an adult by that point, and the stories I heard from people living there back then or the psychology/criminal justice classes I took, from his Alma Mater for that matter, showed how truly depraved he was. The teacher of one of those should know it well because he was on the arresting team of the WPD. I think I heard he passed sadly. It’s definitely not a story my area was proud of, but it is what it is 🤷♀️. Anyways, y’all stay safe out there and I hope all of the victims and the families of all those affected by these crimes are able to eventually find a semblance of peace in their lives! ✌️💛
I belive Sabrina was a victim as well. He groomed her, took advantage of her mental health issues. I belive she should have gotten hospitalized instead of life in prison. I BELIVE the husband is completely to blame. I feel he didn't have feelings for Sabrina, I belive Kevin just wanted Lisa gone. So he manipulated Sabrina to kill Lisa, then dropped her like a bad habit the second she did his dirty work. Kevin is a scum bag. And those poor children of Lisa, the trauma of seeing their sister killing their mother. Heartbreaking
