CycleCruza, I just wanted to say how much I enjoy your videos! I love how you keep it real-no nonsense, no B.S., just straight-up honest takes. You don’t fall into trends or any of that, and that’s what makes your content so refreshing. You keep it fun, raw, and authentic every time. Keep doing what you do!
All hail to the King of the Middleweight Naked bikes. The MT07 is the best naked bike I've ever rode. People hate the soft suspension, but you'll love it for absorbing bumps and hits from shitty road conditions found in most major cities due to constant construction and road work. Still it's playful torquey nature truly leads to a fun hooligan wheelie machine. Funny enough that torquey nature is the very reason I wouldn't recommend it for new riders. As noobs with zero riding experience know nothing of throttle control and often whiskey throttle and loop whatever bike they're on.
Exactly! I don't recommend it for new riders either but I know many new riders started on and did ok. The new 2025 MT-07 now has a ride by wire throttle and riders modes where they can tone the power down to start on. The bottom end punch on this bike and it's small compact size and feel make this a unique fun hood bike. Riders looking to rip the throttle and hit triple digits will call this bike slow but that's not what this bike is about, it is all about the bottom end grunt, comfort, feel and amazing CP2 sound. This bike has kept me from getting speeding tickets but yet so fun to cruise on.
If you'd said the 09 is not for beginners I'd be inclined to agree but you are saying the 07 not for beginners? Its as easy as pie to ride, pretty slow, soft, and uninspiring... just what a learner needs... well, maybe apart from the last bit. If you find the 07 too much as a beginner then maybe you might want to reconsider if motorcycling is really for you.
@paulhope3401 I've been riding for over 15 years. I left beginner bikes behind after starting on a Ninja 250. Besides you're sadly misinformed. As most new riders have ZER0 experience riding and many just take the written test stateside and never go thru the MSF course. So they aren't prepared for the torque the MT07 has down low in the rev range so they grab too much throttle and end up looping their bike. I've seen it countless times with noobs. Those who does respect that they're taking their own life into their hands with the twist of the throttle are those NOT meant to be riding. Starting on a lower CC bike will always be the way to go. As they're cheap, easy to maintain and forgiving when a new rider makes a mistake which all new riders do. You saying starting on MT07 is a good thing just shows you lack of knowledge and that you think starting on a smaller bike is less manly or whatever. Enough riders die each year because they bite off more they can chew doing something dumb. Least new riders can do is not make those mistakes straight from the start. But hey even with all the logic and over a decade and half of experience riding, not to mention 10 years as a mechanic I highly doubt I could convince you of the error of your comment due to your stubbornness.
@greasyzach @Frank_Torre You are actually 100% right for your country's very lax riding regulations, I really need to stop assuming every country has a motorcycle training program like ours. think this is just one of these national differences. Here in the UK, you cant just ride a motorcycle without passing a fairly comprehensive basic test. You have to first ride a 125 for CBT (Compulsery basic training) before you can progress to a bigger bike such as the MT07 and passing another test for that. You have to have the above experrience of what I'd still call a beginner. In my experience, the MT07 is a nice docile easy to ride bike to progress with now being free to no longer ride with your instructor. I totally get that its not the same for you guys and agree that a complete beginner should get something smaller. I hope you can also see how it's a bit different in the UK. I ride a 23 MT09 SP, and Yeah, I like it. Deffo don't miss the MT07 though, sorry guys. I'm just not a huge fan of twins.
Hey Cruza, I bought my 2024 mt07 last year and can completely back up what ur saying about basically everything. I have almost identical bike to yours and get same mpg. I live in michigan and not a spot of rust yet. Such a good bike tho. ppl will call it a beginner bike but i truly believe can start and end with this bike. If you're someone who doesn't have to go 150mph on the highway all the time this thing is just as quick 0-60 as most of the other fast bikes like the r6. speed kills yall so this thing is perfect for me.
I just checked why it doesn't get very good mpgs.....The 6th gear isn't an OD gear and is there to make it go 147mph instead of only around 125....I can get 42 mpgs on my 5 speed, 1985 air cooled, carbureted, inline 4 Yamaha xj700 easy if I shift at lower rpms, so I don't accelerate quickly but can only go 125-129 top speed. If I had an extra 6th- non OD gear. I could go 147 & if it had a 6th OD ⚙️ I could get way better mpgs ... With fuel injection, computer & liquid cooling. Even more mpgs. I think the MT07 should have made 6th gear be an OD & sacrifice some of the top speed for much better mpgs. Like 125mph in 5th then in 6th gear be able to get 60+ mpgs on a road trip....Once in 6th OD the computer could set the fuel injection to a lean burn & use the liquid cooling to keep it from overheating vs unsafe to do on an air cooled engine.
Best modification I did to my 22 MT07 was upgrading to steel braided brake lines. Night and day difference and worth the money. Got rid of the brake fade, and I can comfortably do emergency braking with just 2 fingers (although I prefer 4 finger braking). Highly recommend.
I think so. It is such a fun punchy hood cruising bike and the sound just makes you feel good. I usually sell a bike every year but the MT-07 and YZ450Fx supermoto has stayed and will likely stay as long as I ride.
23 z900 for me. It’s Weight and handling gives you a lot of confidence flicking it back and fourth. It just stick to the road and feels stable at any speed. Love mine.
I had my 2017 fz07 for 6 years and it was an amazing bike, just a little over 20k miles when I sold it and still ran just as good as day 1. The sound and raw feeling from that bike are hard to match, I miss mine and im considering getting another.
Great stuff Cruza! I couldn't agree more. You are why I landed on this bike. I do have a Ducati Streetfighter that's a different animal. MT-07 all around fun and exciting bike. I love it.
Nice! Cool to see you add a MT-07 with your awesome Streetfighter. Actually, I was set to buy a Streetfighter V4 brand new back in 2022 but I knew in my heart I would be back fighting speeding tickets again like I did on the Tuono. lol I'm glad I got the MT-07 instead, such a cool punchy hood cruiser and the cops don't bother me.
@CycleCruza You are right. It takes way more discipline to keep the Streetfighter in check. I was riding along, really enjoying the ride, and I looked at my speed, I was doing 90 mph. Ridiculous right, it is so smooth in 3rd gear, and yes, she wants to run. If I can't bring the discipline I need, I will sell her. She is a 2010 one owner with 6000 miles on her. So I had her checked out by a Ducati tech (40 years experience). He said she was in great shape, so I got her for $6000. One of those once in a lifetime deals. I checked the new ones. She is the 1098. Man, I went down a rabbit hole, sorry. MT-07 I will keep, she does it all. God bless
Ne reason for the MT07. Honda CB750 Hornett is way better, in every way. Otherwise the Kawasaki Z900 and MT09 are also way better. Rode all these bikes and everything is better on these in comparison to the MT07. Suspension, engine, topend, brakes, dashboard, everything. Can't understand how you can say that the MT07 is better... No hate to the MT07 by the way, it was cheap when it came out, but there are way better competitors now.
When are you gonna try out the new 2025 MT07? Yamaha has a demo fleet that covers the US and would be great to hear your hands on impressions (good or bad) of the many upgrades.
I figured with 6 gears, fuel injection & water cooling that it'd get more like 55-60+ mpgs on the highway.....My carbureted, air cooled 85 Yamaha xj700 can get 42 mpgs easy. If I take it easy and shift at lower rpms and it's only a 5 speed. Seems like the MT07 should get much better mpgs. I'm guessing 6th gear is made for a higher top speed instead of OD. I'm gonna check. I guessed correctly, the mt07 top speed says 147mph VS my 5 speed 700 inline 4 that'll only go 125 mph.... I'd rather sacrifice some top speed for better mpgs and have a MT that goes 125-130 but gets around 60+mpgs in OD.... It's only a 700 if they wanna go over 125. They should buy bigger bike.
Love your vids! That's weird cuz I get between 58 and 61mpg. Tho maybe they made a change to the '24 models 🤔 (tho I'm mostly light to moderate handed on mine 😅) The MT is a beautiful machine either way and I love riding mine.
i have a '24, slapping a kelpi shorty on it this spring. look that bitch up, sounds even better than the akro! im a tiny little dude, 5'8", love this bike. im in central pa, your roads are heaven compared to mine, suspension is fine. dropped it twice already because im irresponsible, and yeah it's definitely cheap to fix up. i won't trade it for anything
Ugly truth is that anything past 85 mph is sketchy af despite the claimed 130 top. However between Mt07, Tenere 700 and my own XSR 700, I'd still say it's the platform of the decade.
Yo cruza, i got a 2024 mt07 and you are one of the reasons i wanted to try it. Love it to bits. Thing is, i am tempted to buy the new 2025 version. What yall think worth it or nah
If you can afford to literally just change your forks to usd like on the 25 or just buy adjustable cartridges for the forks you have I guarantee the throttle you have will be better cause cable beats ride by wire imo it feels "artificial" if that makes sense like computer interference or a delay the throttle on my mt07 was better than mt09 but 09 outperforms everywhere else.
@@monty-9269 That much of a difference between the throttle feel? Damn...but all the other improvements are sure nice!! But don't want to lose the nice feel of the throttle if it's that bad
@@thanoskkil yea just research into it I'm sure you can flash the ecu to make the new one better but it will never feel as raw as the cable throttle. If the bikes not paid off and ur not gonna lose money upgrading then go for it, but if ur bikes paid off keep what u have and buy adjustable suspension forks and rear shock and exhaust that will complete that bike🤔🤷♂️ that's just what I would do but only you know what your heart wants.
Yeah, not meant for actual snow/ice conditions… I live in Detroit, ride in the winter.. but there can’t be actual snow on the road… nor black ice conditions; it has to be bone dry on the road surface
@SongJLikes facts, not like my honda or dyna were any better for me back in the day. I did throw some studded tires on the sportster when i had it and that did pretty well though
@SongJLikes it was alright. Probably wouldve been better on a bike i actually enjoyed riding. It was that roadster model and i never was a fan of it, only had it because i had to make a trade in at one point to lower monthly payments.
Yeah that is a cool bike. I need to try a Triumph already. There are so many cool new bikes it is hard to choose. I have a R9 on order, I will likely buy it when it comes in because that is the hot trending bike.
I need to ride the Dragon already. I've been putting it off since 2012. Thanks for offering you bike, I'd let you ride my YZ450FC supermoto. I'll let you know if I head down there.
Shoot, I sold my 23MT07 for an MT09 and have not looked back. I guess tineach their own, but the 24 MT09 sound is amazing compared to the 07. Still, great bike indeed.
I’ve had more powerful bikes and the fz/mt07 is my favorite naked of all time, so much fun even in NYC The raw grunt of the Akra, the short gears, the brute power off the line, the ability to ride it tamely, mannnnn You can find good ones for 5-6k, don’t buy it new
Yes it is nice trying all of the different bikes and experiencing the powerful bikes. Variety is the spice of life. However, you may be like many of use and go back down in power and enjoy the torque more for the street. That is why Yamaha created the MT series bikes, MT stands for Master of Torque.
That's is one of the greatest things about the MT-07 is it small compact size. You see big grown dudes on a Grom and love it, it's small size makes it more fun.

Love mine.
I have mt07 the reason why I bought it is you and im happy with it since one year in city and highway
Love the "I have a link to it in the description" phrase. I don't dare dropping the description, cause I feel like it is infinite. 🤣
Exactly it's way too much crap.
fz07 is the best bike. does everything you need🔥🔥
I had my 2017 fz07 for 6 years and it was an amazing bike, just a little over 20k miles when I sold it and still ran just as good as day 1. The sound and raw feeling from that bike are hard to match, I miss mine and im considering getting another.
Great demo thank you.
God bless
Hoping to buy a t700 in a few months. I miss riding.
Well my 2025 mt-07 is on order, so I guess I'll see what it will be like :D
Hey CC, head over to 2 wheel dyno works and watch the latest drop. He's tuning the 2025 MT-07. I'm sure you'd love to know about it.
Tho maybe they made a change to the '24 models 🤔 (tho I'm mostly light to moderate handed on mine 😅)
The MT is a beautiful machine either way and I love riding mine.
Can you try out review the new 2025 mt07 if a dealer allows you to go for a spin? Curious on a comparison with the electric throttle.
Cruza what do you think about the new Honda e-clutch on the cbr650 ??
I was doing driving license course on it and it was triggering that loud fan too, while at standstill, its normal for this bike it seems
i have a '24, slapping a kelpi shorty on it this spring. look that bitch up, sounds even better than the akro! im a tiny little dude, 5'8", love this bike. im in central pa, your roads are heaven compared to mine, suspension is fine. dropped it twice already because im irresponsible, and yeah it's definitely cheap to fix up. i won't trade it for anything
Ugly truth is that anything past 85 mph is sketchy af despite the claimed 130 top. However between Mt07, Tenere 700 and my own XSR 700, I'd still say it's the platform of the decade.
doesn't feel sketchy til about 115, but in a passing zone you're there before you know it
Yo cruza, i got a 2024 mt07 and you are one of the reasons i wanted to try it.
Yamaha MT 07 full made and assembled in my country (Indonesia) but never officially sold in my country 😂😂
Cruza, pls try the new mt09 for us and give us a comparison! Thanks!
I wish I could rent one for about a month.
I saw somebody skiing through the snow on one of these just this morning 😂 dude was struggling
@@Thomas-uk5cp - that sounds pretty damn fun…
@SongJLikes it was alright. Probably wouldve been better on a bike i actually enjoyed riding. It was that roadster model and i never was a fan of it, only had it because i had to make a trade in at one point to lower monthly payments.
🤣
Have you checked into the Triumph 765 naked. It’s in the same colors as your safety gear.
Yeah that is a cool bike. I need to try a Triumph already. There are so many cool new bikes it is hard to choose. I have a R9 on order, I will likely buy it when it comes in because that is the hot trending bike.
Yo. Come down to the dragon in April! I'll let u try out the hypermotard
I need to ride the Dragon already. I've been putting it off since 2012. Thanks for offering you bike, I'd let you ride my YZ450FC supermoto. I'll let you know if I head down there.
Hey sir, how does the MT07 compare to Honda Hornet CB750?
I have rode them both. CB750 Hornet is way better on everything. No comparison whatsoever.
How many reviews are you gonna do on this bike brah 😂
Shoot, I sold my 23MT07 for an MT09 and have not looked back. I guess tineach their own, but the 24 MT09 sound is amazing compared to the 07. Still, great bike indeed.
I sold my 2019 mt07 for a 2020 mt09 and same😂🙏💯
You should try the new suzuki vstrom 800 RE
Looks like a cool bike.
Another episode of The Ugly Truth! Yeeaahh Baby! Woo! That bottom end grunt! My YamaHa Davidson!😂😂😂
I’ve had more powerful bikes and the fz/mt07 is my favorite naked of all time, so much fun even in NYC
The raw grunt of the Akra, the short gears, the brute power off the line, the ability to ride it tamely, mannnnn
You can find good ones for 5-6k, don’t buy it new
I still want either mt10 or cb1000r.
Yes it is nice trying all of the different bikes and experiencing the powerful bikes. Variety is the spice of life. However, you may be like many of use and go back down in power and enjoy the torque more for the street. That is why Yamaha created the MT series bikes, MT stands for Master of Torque.
Go mt10 so much character.
I thought this bike was ugly as hell plus the dealership was pretty far away so i went with the 700clx.
0:25 the problem is Reddit aka soy central
🤣 True
U look like you are too big for that bike
CC does look a little tall for the MT-07, but he says he's comfortable.
That's is one of the greatest things about the MT-07 is it small compact size. You see big grown dudes on a Grom and love it, it's small size makes it more fun.
Mt 07 mediocre suspensión!!!!
Don't like the sond !! Don't like the Harley Davison sound too!!! A cheap construction bike!!!!
