Thankyou for these 2 wonderful lectures on this topic. I recognise this process from the 22 years of zazen (Zen Buddhism) but the humour and clarity is so very helpful. It's quite amazing - terminology and vocabulary don't get in the way when the truth is described by an enlightened being as Thomas Keating surely is. My heart goes out in gratitude and joy. 🙏❤
Finally. So much of what I have been experiencing explained. Have struggled with the “where is God” and could not understand what happened. A process!!
Someone asked if this is Biblical. Here are a few: Psalm 46:10. Be still and know that I am God. Plus Jesus is going into the desert for 40 days. He is constantly praying to the Father during his ministry. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18. Pray ceaselessly. Plus the practice of Eucharistic adoration. The Divine (or Real) Presence in the Catholic Mass, are some Biblical references, not to mention the centuries of Christian contemplation since the Desert Fathers, St. John of the Cross, Sta. Theresa, etc. Read Thomas Merton too for a more contemporary example.

It's like Joseph Campbell said, "Life is a free fall into the unknown. the trick is to make it a voluntary free fall
