It definitely takes a little practice but once it is set it works. That looks like fill to me. I use mine for turning over the garden in the spring, it works great for turning over weeds and sod.
I love plowing with my 122 cub. I would love to get a brinley for my grandfathers 682 cub. And u are correct It is a ten inch. Where did you get the weight bracket for the 680 ?

It was a trifle wet, wasn't it? Hard to do a good job of plowing when it's too wet.

The bracket I made from 1/4 inch thick by 2 inch wide steel, wasn’t the prettiest looking but it did work
