I have CS2 beta and I must say, other than graphical improvements the biggest improvement is visibility and clarity, you will not need to put brightness to 3000 to see agents standing in a shade 2 meters in front of you anymore

Disclaimer: We only saw Dust 2 and Mirage so far, which arent really a big remakes and dont actually have water surfaces, shiny metal objects, cars etc. and their dusty theme and one dominant color arent doing Source 2 a lot of favors in terms of pleasant, new look that we will see on Nuke, Overpass, Vertigo

yeah sadly mirage is probably the most competitive map in the game so probably valve dosent want to change much but im hoping we get a mirage remake

Just giving a fact, they're still using the 2013 Mirage (I know mirage get a bit of an adjustment in 2018, but it's still a 2013 mirage, not fully overhauled) and just simply port it to CS2,
What they do is Change + adjust the lighting, bevel some brush edge, Adjust some material, and done, it's really effortless for Valve doing that, they don't even change a low poly models and low-res texture on this map.
Mirage is one of the CS:GO maps that does not push Source Engine limits like Ancient, Anubis, and Tuscan, yep I said it's not pushing 'Source 1' limit and it's not even utilized all of Source 2 potential. This map is still using a lot of brush-work and displacement-work rather than using a lot of models.
I guess they're gonna remake it later, At this time, they want this map just a normal port (touchstone) because players need to adapt with CS2, and most CS:GO Players know this map.

Think of it this way. If source 2 is applied greatly to a regular practical game. Easier to update. Easier time with other new valve titles. Easier modding. Its not just about csgo. Its about valves titles as a future.

"BEFORE/BEFORE with shadows and more ilumination", In my opinion, it is cool that csgo can make like another version of csgo but not calling it like a "Counter Strike 2", i think the game could change more about the graphics and the game, just for that, cuz its cool the skins and the ilumination is very cool tho, but to be honest they could did a better work ONLY with the maps

Looks like they turned up the brightness and increased some textures. All i hope for is a handful new maps to play with when full release comes out. Throwing make-up on old maps isnt a new game.

i understand that this map is taken place in a sandy place which noticing in cs2 some of the darker spots like from the fence or little wall lights are suppose to be covered in dust but it looked a little off to me as it makes it just blend in more with the walls and a little hard to notice but from seeing the the map from csgo it’s of course clean but it stands out more as well to just little environment details which to me looks nice, i also hope they improve the lighting a little more from seeing how the window in csgo had the light blare thru the little crakes from the window and then from csg2 it’s just nothing but that’s just me being a little picky, overall i will miss the csgo graphics as there was something about it where it made it feel or look darker in a way as the cs2 looks more lighter but that’s just my op

Повысили читаемость игроков на фоне окружения. Но я бы опционально ещё добавил тонкий цветной контур тимейтам и противникам как в Quake Champions.
The thin colored outlines for teammates funnily enough exists through walls with +cl_show_team_equipment

Игра выглядит визуально очень свежо и красиво, особенно цветовые решения. Про обновленное Инферно я вообще молчу - это искусство. Единственный минус от обновления - мне придётся покупать новый комп, потому что мой нынешний совсем не тянет CS2. Настолько сильно глючит, что наверное ФПС 20 выдаёт от силы. Я даже готова закрыть глаза на этот новый вырвиглазный худ с килами и какими-то карточками

@@millerthomas4331that ain't it chief, regular global offensive graphics look almost barely different from source ones from further away. It lacked shading which is present in many modern titles and source 2 brought just that. Personally I noticed some item physics along with the Ragdolls so I'm pretty hyped for the full release

csgo has a style of realism while cs2 is moving on to more of a cartoonish style, everything seems too damn bright in cs2 while csgo just seems like real life. I think source 1 engine has to be the most underrated game engines even tho not a lot of big dev companies use it except for valve, source 1 engine will never be forgettable due to how good and realistic it looks when you play it.
I think the lighting is much more realistic. Go outside sometime on a clear sky day at 12am. Shits bright as fuck!

No. Source 2 is an outdated pieace of shit. I love the old games on it but its not sustainable for the valve devs or modders. Its limited. Csgo looks more realistic because its the shading used in half life 2. A depressing and primitive lit apoclypse game.
