These are middle and elementary schoolers who all did there best and had fun doing it. At least they have lives unlike you people who spend there time putting down children. At least they did there best. I believe everyone was amazing. Props to all of you kids. You are all amazing, so continue to act and chase your dreams. Congratulations on an amazing production. Also, great job to these directors. I love this show. Amazing job!! :)

HEY, KIDS. NEWS FLASH! I was in this production of Shrek, Narrator #3 to be exact (with the short curly hair). Look, I admit that this wasn't a phenomenal performance. This was our closing show, and we were very tired. But the energy that I am seeing in these comments just makes me so unhappy. Specifically the negative comments from fellow theatre students. In the theatre, you lift each other up even if the production isn't exceptional. Tearing kids down (ESPECIALLY elementary and middle school students) is completely unacceptable on my terms. We were exhausted from the previous shows and were using the last bits of energy we had to put on a performance that people wanted to come to see. And guess what? This department has kept on getting better. The next year we performed A Midsummer Night's Dream at The Georgia Theatre Conference (I won the best-supporting-actress medal and our kid who played Bottom won the best actor medal), and we did The Lion King Jr. in the spring (and again the next February in front of the guy who played Mufasa on Broadway. And he loved it). The year after that, we did The Little Mermaid Jr. at The Georgia Theatre Conference and killed it (we won awards in Costumes and Set Design, best-supporting-actress (again), and came in second place), and then in the spring we did Mary Poppins Jr. that included tapping for the Step in Time number. Then I graduated and moved onto to high school where I have played roles like Howie Newsome in Our Town, Rosencrantz in A Night in Elsinore, I'm about to play the chaperone in The Drowsy Chaperone, and will be playing Malcolm in Macbeth this coming summer. But the kids at SMES haven't stopped hustling either. They've performed Legally Blonde, Alice in Wonderland, The Iliad The Oddesy and All of Greek Mythology in 99 Minutes or less, and just recently did Newsies where they had 31 KIDS tapping. And the theatre alumni haven't stopped as well. They've gone on to play roles like Jack Kelly in Newsies, Liesl Von Trapp in The Sound of Music, and Judah in Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. So just know that, while this wasn't a phenomenal performance, the people in this cast have gone on to do phenomenal things. So before you start trashing children online, just think before you type. I rest my case, thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
