Man, the 6X was highly competitive that night. I miss those videos! (I'm sure you do as well) I really appreciate the wrenching stuff and your thorough explanation of what goes on with the car in the garage and on the track. Good luck, and let's make the 6X great again!
Part of automobile racing is repairing the damaged parts. I’m glad that Onyx is working with you on the repairs. It’s one way for him to be intimately connected with his ride. 😊
Great to see the Father/Son team on the the wrenching and track! That time with Onyx is PRICELESS and will continue to build a lifetime bond, memories and skills! Great content, loved the archive race footage. "Well, there's a part we don't have to replace".......priceless.
Really enjoyed this vid and that was some very good racing. Your short track set-up seems far better than on the other tracks. I hate that we missed the episode with Onyx's racing deal. He seems to just now be settling in good and probably be kickin your ass in a race car before long.
Thanks for a real interesting racing video times two. Sorry to see Onyx’s car all torn up. Must have been a bad accident at the track. But that is racing. Been there done that. Looks like you all are getting it put back together again. That the way to do it. The second video was some real good racing footage. The car and driver did real good. Thanks for posting it Zach and Becky. Racing is racing. Enjoyed my time in it. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
I was gonna say I didn’t think I could recall an extended video of maintenance at the shop. I like it. That was a good race to add as well. Thought you had em.
Amazing at the end of your race, Zach, to see you lose the lead & appear to go backwards shortly after that last track caution. Nobody could've thrown a clear win away the way you did it! Next time, if you ever get the lead again just keep the pedal to the metal for a couple more laps & I'm sure you'll win. 🏆
I enjoy the racing videos, I use to fabricated those front and rear bumpers for those modified cars over here in Indiana where I live. I love watching dirt racing. Keep on keeping on.
To check header heat, water bottle with small hole drilled in the lid. squirt water on the tubes.. Keep the lid in one of those small top drawers in your toolbox. works great. I like the car repair videos, these race videos were better, track had better lights. Keep it coming...
Love this racing side I'm a huge racing fan love seeing how fast onyx is getting with his car embrace it and let the boy evolve would love to see him in a couple years in a winged sprint car running in the Kubota high limits trading paint with Larson and Brad sweet and rico
My younger brother races B Rods at Fairmont, MN and then the rest of his tracks are in NW Iowa. We are from NW Iowa. He came back from a 20yr hiatus from hobby stock and street stock. Racing has always been part of mine and the lives of my siblings and parents since my brothers started in their early teens like Onyx.
Zack, if you have to check exhaust temps, don't use the palm of your hand, use the back of you hand. The natural instinct to heat, will close your hand, grabbing whatever you touch! We don't want to see you with serious hand injuries, from something like that. Otherwise good job getting Onyx's car rebuilt in time for the next meeting, just a shame by the time you got there the rain got there before you, and rained you out. Nice to see you almost win a race, but that is racing... The intro to this, is not a critique, just don't want you to hurt yourself! Best wishes from UK.
into turn 3 and 4 ... stay high longer then angle your exit to the apex on 4 to maintain MORE momentum into the straightaway to the start/finish line. When you enter 3 low, and continue around.... (low) ... you exit 4 with considerable more "side" momentum. .... I'm always rootin' fer ya !
Just wondering if you’ve ever been to eldora either racing or just visiting. Just about 20 minutes from where I live. Also random fact, when you’re grain cart broke and the guys came from Ohio, J&M is about minutes away too.
Really enjoy this style with the car/cars. I am a dirt track fan, but mostly sprint cars. How about some spec differences between yours and onyx’s car. Also, how about some social media posts on where your gonna be racing so some could watch live with flo racing or other avenues
Hey Zack have you guys tried nitrogen in your tires instead of just regular air I might help you out a little bit that's what Nascar one of the teams I used to work for we used to do that nitrogen in them instead of air
Speed is dependent on the track they run on, the 6X car that Zach drives is turning about 600hp and is powered by methanol, the 73 car that Onyx drives is turning about 400hp and runs high octane race gas
Your inner side front wheel pretty much never touches the floor, letting you ride on the front outside Try mimic it again in a race and see what happens 🤔🤔
Rubbing racing and nothing that a good buff wouldn't fix and at the end of the day if your going to be a bear might aswell be a grizzly greeting from down under
Keep ‘‘em coming Zac seeing you and onyx working and racing together with the whole family around is fantastic 👍 thanks for sharing
i think you got a smile out of onyx when you said don't scratch it
You holding the spring reminds me of the part in days of thunder when they say "oh look, a side we don't have to fix"🤣
Love these videos. Nice to see what goes on behind the scenes of what it takes to race
I like the shop content. Gives us an idea of how much goes into keeping the car in top shape. Nice family operation.
With all the rain we've had this year, shop maintenance is about all you can show us. That was a great throwback run video.

Used FUBAR a lot back in the 90s when I raced. Keep up the great content!
These types of videos are awesome! As frustrating as it is fixing torn up race cars, these are when some of the best memories are made!

Typical parent: the kid is hard on shoes. Zach: the kid is hard on brake shoes.
Without wrenching there's no racing .Great to see you and Onyx working together ,and having fun with the all the crew . Great videos keep 'em coming .

Great to see you and your son working and racing together.
I like the behind the scenes working on the cars. But videos at the track and how that all goes is still my favorite.
Great edit... great combo of shop and racing. Keep up the awesome content!!

Showing some shop time is nice we get to see what goes on behind the scenes along with the racing
Zac yes I like wach you all fix I really love this channel I love both of your channels

I love it ! More race shop videos brother!! We watching from Louisiana!!😎🦞🦀
Thank you for explaining what is going on with the car. Great video thanks.
That’s how ya learn. Ya learn not to F it up, but ya learn how to fix it up

Wow Zach...you drove a good race man...well driven..

I'm sure he has a temp gun. I was surprised to see him checking temp that way.
@@jerryspangler6658 we have multiple temp guns, just use the hand method on start-up to make sure all cylinders are firing.

Great video, love you guys. Y'all take care.
Good job. Thanks for the early video. God bless from Tennessee.
we enjoy all style of videos 😎 shop cam is legit
You should do a video going over all of the trophies and memorabilia in the race garage!
Great video good luck 🏁
yea this is my fav day now bc you uploaded
You guys should come down to Hutchinson Ks got some great racing on Friday nights 👍
Anything you do is good entertaining
Wow restart was at the wrong time keep going Zac 💪💪💪💪💪
Absolutely love the shop scenes. Reminds me of my childhood. Where do you get your race car part's?? We use to use lane automotive by benton harbor MI
Most of them come right from MB Customs in Wisconsin, but it depends somewhat on what specific parts we need
You should come to thunder city speedway in Thunder bay Canada in September for our invitational weekend
Man y'all are best I'm farmer outta Ripley TN
That's why you farm Zach this way you can afford parts for onyx's little race car that he loves to tear up and puck up stuff
The ol dreaded caution flag with only 3 or 4 laps left is every leaders Achilles heel. Awesome race, though.
FUBAR....SNAFU....and TARFU........All very appropriate!!!
Just wondering if you’ve ever been to eldora either racing or just visiting. Just about 20 minutes from where I live. Also random fact, when you’re grain cart broke and the guys came from Ohio, J&M is about minutes away too.

That has got to be so frustrating with those stoppages
i have straightened metal for years, now a tamper is genius
I love the shop content
Hey Zack have you guys tried nitrogen in your tires instead of just regular air I might help you out a little bit that's what Nascar one of the teams I used to work for we used to do that nitrogen in them instead of air
Onyx is one on lucky young man to be in equipment like that.
Yes I love this type of videos
I see you have dewalt and Milwaukee what one do you prefer more. Also onyx did amazing with the stickers
The Milwaukee is considerably better in my opinion
I like that kind of a video
Would love to hear the story of why racing is so big with your family.
I hope the black parts are cheaper than the green ones you normally buy!!
Wow, that was a good microphone , it picked al nearby sounds.
Did you just get done watching TANGO AND CASH!?!?!?!?! Lol
The more racing more race car prep the better
Hey Zach! I just need to say, fubar is f'ed up beyond all recognition. This would be better called a Snafu, Situation Normal: All F'ed Up.
Looks like Onyx has himself a duck boat there too?!
That's a lot of fu bar..😂😂
love it man keep them videos coming! (that what she said)
how do you guys like the floor hoist that you have? is it nice an stable fully raised or do you use alot of caution when its that high?
more of this is great
I like this kind of video.
Where could a guy get a Zack Johnson racing shirt?????
Well atleast onyx is passing cars and placing decent,, no offense Zack but you might want to think about putting him in your car too! 😂
If you're racing your wrecking. But atleast he's being competitive. Dad needs to take some lessons wrecking is racing. 😂
What is fubar? Never heard that one.
Fubar=Fuked up beyond all repair
@@choochooman336 Thank You
Happiness is fixing a race car..
These cars are completely alien to us in the UK.
What kind of horsepower and speed are they averaging?
Speed is dependent on the track they run on, the 6X car that Zach drives is turning about 600hp and is powered by methanol, the 73 car that Onyx drives is turning about 400hp and runs high octane race gas
@@tw3145wallenstein thanks very much for replying
Bummer, I thought you had that one. The last restart was kind of wonky.
I like it
Hallie Deegan would be proud😂
Like it a lot.
They call that pizza in the midwest. That's not pizza.
Noob question sorry but whats the x short for in 6x?
Nice work millennial farmer!!!!!
Your inner side front wheel pretty much never touches the floor, letting you ride on the front outside Try mimic it again in a race and see what happens 🤔🤔
It was good racing
hi mum nice to see you
Is that that max Auckland, Rick Auckland's son ?
Matt, yes.
it was a good race
9:43 Keystone? 🍺 Ugh. 🤢🤮 Keystone would have to up its game to be a 1-star brew. You're gonna have to up your beer game.
Need to save money for tires
@@betweentherows That's fair. 😂 I track my bike and it's easy to go through a set of tires in a weekend and that gets real expensive real fast.
Go up on rr tire pressure or up a little on rr 😅spring
Simple as that!
Something doesn't look right with that picture. Does ONYX come and help with repairs?
why is the right front weel look strange like its bend out
It's cambered over so it gets more contact patch on the track in the corners
thank you
Hi 👋
Minnesota, birthplace of Hamm's from the land of sky blue waters and you're drinking keystone light and coors light! soooo disappointed!
Part of it. Get used to it my friend
:)
You needed to stay on the bottom. You was faster down there
Why isn’t the door open
He is young….part of the learning curve dad, keep the parts in stock…!
