- Dr Mike discusses the functional anatomy of the pancreas, including how certain hormones stimulate Acinar cells to release pancreatic juices and how ductal cells release bicarbonate.
The great thing about these videos is that if you don't just watch them, but follow along drawing the structures, labeling them and taking notes you really do learn.
your channel deserves more likes and views and positive comments
This video contained 100% of the information I was looking for. What a great teacher Dr Matt is! Thank you.
Your videos solidify weeks of studying and bring about a much clearer and bigger picture understandying. Thank you, ty, ty!
Not a problem, Eston! :)
So happy to hear!!
Thank you so much Doctor Mike . I wish i could find a teacher like you for my all the other subjects ...
A good way to remember acini, acinus, acinar cells is by their distinct cluster shape. The root of those words is aciniform which means "shaped like a cluster of grapes".
I am just seeing these videos for the first time. I love them. It really helps painting the picture. New school book editions do not give information like they use to.
This video is gold! Appreciation from a medical student!
Yet another brilliant video that helped me with my assignment!!!! Question asked me to draw & annotate how bile salts and pancreatic juices emulsify lipids in the duodenum. This video helped me understand bile salts so another huge THANK YOU from Cornwall in the UK. Wish you were my tutor because you really make me get it!
As a visual learner, these videos are fantastic and easy to learn! Thanks a lot!

You said the parotid gland secretes amylase which breaks down carbs but when you listed protase, amylase, and lipase you said proteins fats carbs. Please can you clarify what pancreatic juices break down what food stuff, thank you for your vids!
Did you just roll out of bed to do this? 😂 Seriously, as a diabetic, I appreciate the info. The body is an amazing machine.
This guy is great.
Honestly, Love this lecture!!! It is very informative and helpful.
The naming of enterokinase is somehow confusing nowadays. It is not a kinase indeed, that said it would be better called it as enteropeptidase. Regardless of this, thanks for the interactive and interesting educational video, learnt a lot from both of you guys!
Well done mate❤👍🏻👍🏻
Where can I find the next part? Thank you.
Wish the volume of the audio in it can be fixed. Very helpful though !

Hi, I have a question. How will my pancreas work if I drink black coffee at the same time every time I eat cake or any high content carbs? Or where does the glucose from the food I consume end up? Will it also go to muscle, fat or liver cells?
Between 8:59-9:00, correct me if I'm wrong but you should have said, "proteins, carbs and fats" right?
ubiquitous fan yup!
Volume of voice is too low to hear and watch at the same time. Speaking to the board?

Contrary to popular belief, gall stones are not caused by too much cholesterol. Gall stones are concentrated bile that has precipitated because of not eating enough fats. When bile is not excreted it becomes more concentrated and eventually precipitates into gall stones.
That's why balancee diet is important
Hello @@pippo767 . Please define a “balanced diet” for me.
