This Jagat Shiromani Meera mandir was built in the memory of Jagat Singh, son of Maharaja Mansingh I. This is the same idol which Meera bai used to worship and sing devotional songs after her marriage in Chittorgarh. It is said that many times external invaders tried to destroy the idol of Lord Shri Krishna. Then the idol of Shri Krishna was brought to Jagat Shiromani Mandir Amer. A statue of Meera bai was made in the Jagat Shiromani Mandir Jaipur and then Lord Shri Krishna and Meera Bai were married in this temple. Since then, Shri Krishna and Meera Bai are worshipped in this temple and that is why this temple came to be known as Jagat Shiromani Meera Bai Mandir.
    Friends, this Jagat Shiromani Mandir or Meera bai Mandir is a great example of Mahameru Palace in the beginning of the 17th century. The sanctum sanctorum of the temple is built in a pavilion with latticed pillars. In front of the idol of Lord Krishna, his vehicle Garuda Bhagwan is seated in a pavilion palace. There are beautiful arch gates made of beautiful marble stones. There are statues of elephants on both sides.
