  • The "Hawk Tuah Girl" has given the Internet a lot of laughs with her spirited interview. I just had to put it to song, and what better choice than "Get Up Offa That Thing" by James Brown, as covered by Vitamin M • Get up Offa That Thing...

    === Lyrics ===
    Hawk Tuah!
    Say it now!
    Hawk-tuah! (repeated)
    Spit all over that thang
    Hawk-tuah 'till you feel better
    Spit all over that thang
    Hawk-tuah! You get me?
    Spit all over that thang
    Hawk-tuah 'till you feel better
    Spit all over that thang
And try to release that pressure
"The only way to get over one is get under another"

    * The Hawk Tuah Girl was interviewed in a viral TikTok video and was asked, "What's one move in bed that makes a man go crazy every time?" to which she responded in a Southern accent, "Oh, you gotta give him that hawk tuah and spit on that thang," resembling a spitting sound amid oral sex.

I figured that after the Presidential Debate, we could all use a break from politics - even you. (I think that James Brown would approve.)
As a sidebar, this is the first I'm hearing of this new 'meme.' When I heard her say, "Hawk Tuah!" my first reaction was to look for the weapons controls on a Klingon Bird of Prey, since I could have sworn she was saying, "Fire Disruptors!" in Klingon . . . .

Lol, you reminded me of this quote from Isaac Asimov: "The saddest aspect of life right now is that science fiction gathers knowledge faster than society gathers wisdom." He probably wrote that in about 1970, but it means a lot in any age. However, I'm not at all worried about the debate. Michael Cohen said yesterday (I think it was on MeidasTouch), "Biden has been running the country every day! It's okay if he's a little tired!" Biden will continue to show that he is a great, caring, Constitutional leader, and Trump will continue to show that he is a crazy, crazy man with severely worsening dementia.

@@FionaKelleghan3267 I'm also reminded of that famous 1968 quote by Andy Warhol way back when I was all of eight years old: "In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes."
I tend to agree with Michael Cohen's assessment about President Biden - at least intellectually. But I'm almost 65, and when I was born, Eisenhower was still President. I wish I could internalize your and Mr. Cohen's "no fear" attitude, but I'm worried about the upcoming election as a whole - not just one debate. When I first voted in a Presidential Election, it would have been inconceivable that a convicted felon could be a legitimate candidate.
I can no more wish my feelings of anxiety away anymore than I can mentally adjust my A1C. And I wouldn't be 18 again if you gave me a million dollars; though in 1978 I did it for free . . . .

@@modelermark172 I understand! I'm anxious, too! But I let documented facts and reason run my brain, when I can. Experts tell us that the MAGA membership is declining. The group Republicans Voting Against Trump is growing. Biden had a bump in the polls after the debate, which is counter-intuitive, but also documented. Plus, the people of our country are good people. MAGA is noisy (screechy!) and organized, but there aren't many of them.
Alas, elections are always close; we still have the Electoral College; and Trump has already said that he will not accept the results unless he wins. So it'll be a rocky road. But above all this, I remain optimistic. I have plenty of cheer to share! No point in worrying all summer. *_My_* worry right now is that the state of Florida is making it really difficult for me to get valid ID to vote. I hope four months will be enough time.
