i’ve lived in a HDB flat all my life & i love it! i never have to worry about the hygiene & maintenance. i also feel that it’s safe as your neighbours can help you keep watch.
Hi I hope the govt can try to showcase a day once a week old variety shows, informative documentaries ,etc on tv to remind us of our rich past.many of the young are missing this lost heritage. Do consider please !
Lee Kuan Yew "If one looked at Saigon and Singapore in 1954, one would have said Singapore was the goner, not Saigon" but now you can see what ho chi minh did to saigon
@jamwithmates123 It's Unlikely they're now slums, they're constantly upgraded. The estates near where I live, like the Ferrier and the Cherry Orchard in Charlton, SE London are as good as dilapidated.
The housing is designed like 'a prison cell' with only one doorway same exit and entrance. Well, water and sanitation are provided. The occupants are 'day released' and return to 'the home cell' for a goodnight rest. Gone are the kampong way of life. No more shitting or urinating in a replaceable bucket latrine waiting for the Municipal Council 32 doors to arrive. The objective has achieved by NDB(National Development Board) equivalent to 1MDB. We have come a long way in transition from 'squatter slums to what it is today'. But, new problem arises. No sense of good understanding neighbourliness as compared to 'the gotong royong kampong folks'. Now, the social trend is "i don't care, you don't care ending with nobody care". Sly witty of a new cunning type of Darwinism! BCS(Bo Char Seow)
I miss those shows from the 60’s that had music in the background
Fortunately, there are NO filthy slums in Singapore. All the HDB flats are constantly upgraded.

I wonder if I could use this for a school project? The project is about making a video about National Day and Singapore.

Ahhhhh Singaporeans speaking in Received Pronunciation!!!
I'm glad they didn't. I live near a South London sink estate and it looks grim, even as the London Borough of Greenwich demolishes it.
I wonder if they ever learned the lessons from Ronan Point?
