Khmer has just came out of a long decline; the deterioration of the Khmer Empire, then battered by the Thai/Viet and followed by 350 years of French rule, finally the country became independence in the 1950's. Cambodia took off rapidly, in term of music and education. The progress and success were not to last. By 1975 it reverted backward. Today, those musics 🎶 from that modern golden era still prevailed!
