In Alabama and Mississippi, we actually call them "String Beans". Two to three generations would sit out on the porch and string them, i.e. destring them. I remember sitting on my grandmother's porch with her, my mother, an aunt and myself doing just that. And, though not mentioned, also shelling Purple Hull Peas. Regretfully, these intimate southern gatherings for the purpose of feeding the family through the winter are all but gone now. I do dearly miss those days and the wise ladies I had the privilege to sit and chat with.
I have been told not to use cameras at the Amish farmers markets. 🤔 If you go to this Market again, try Tellico Grains Bakery for breakfast or lunch (closed Sunday and Monday). It’s so good. It’s at the start of the Cherohala Skyway. The day before the flood, we at at Tellico Grains and drove the Cherohala Skyway into the Tail of the dragon to Maryville. Beautiful drive.
Hmm. I’ll have to check it out. I usually get my tomato and pepper plants at the William Blount plant sale in the spring. Great produce at Amburn’s in Maryville. Thanks!
There was an A&W in Ontario for a while on Holt but it ended up closing in 2006 and got turned into a used car lot. I was pleasantly surprised to find there are several still in operation when I moved to TN haha
lol i just love when people tell the whole world where something good is that will eventually be ruined by too many people knowing of it. I love people but i hate crowds and fighting to get something froma table cause 100 people are in the way.
@@Hoagmatthew family, friends, maybe future friends. . . I've like want to be around.I really just hate big cities and crowds and Maryville is disgusting now. I give it two years before homelessness starts climbing. Most jobs around don't pay enough to support what it cost to live here now. I do have a few friends who are from out of state but I think they don't want anymore people moving here either. But what I'm saying is please stop making our home look so inviting lol . Your helping kill the place you moved too. Whatever happened to her let's not tell people where the good fishing hole is or this nice place to get vegetables ect. I'm glad you decided to get away from that dumpster fire of a state but we really don't need anymore people in the area.
@@Hoagmatthew You got some very cool plants. I pray that God gives you an abundant harvest... gives more vegetables than you even know what to do with.

I live in Madisonville I’m definitely checking them out next spring.

Love that particular A&W but some of those west coast A&W's out in the middle of nowhere hit different.
Great place to get some great produce!
That looks like it’ll make a good garden this year!! All I got this year was some flowers and one jalapeño plant.😋
You need more peppers in your life 😜
You need to go to the Delano community market also on US 411
We love going up there. Come visit sometime. 🎉 the sloths and kangaroos are great to visit with 😊
Its like gardening in Jurassic Park
Love this. Where is this in Tellico, Hoag? I'm in Sevierville
It is on Fairview Road or County road 714. That is off highway 68 . 714 is about mile past the Junior High School and elementary school.

Definitely sounds like you don't "love" people 😂
