i have ping g15s and met this guy on the range with callaway apex pros and the way that ball leaves the club face is just indescribable. great trajectory and for distance control I'm definitely looking to buy my self a set
Traded in my taylormade rocketbladez tour irons for the Callaway Apex Forged Irons as the Taylormades are a cast head and Cannot be adjusted enough for me to play golf correctly. So picked up my new Callaway irons with KBS TOUR V STIFF SHAFTS and hit the driving range. Well what a great club they are. Nice soft feel, no vibrations, and fitted properly as they have a forged head. I have gone from 140 meters with a 6iron from the taylormade irons, up to 155 meters with the Callaways, with less effort and more accuracy. Great set of quality irons that can be fitted correctly to your swing, and the KBS shafts are top quality as well. My Handicap with Taylormades not fitted correctly due to cast heads= 28 ... My handicap with these newly fitted and lovely feeling irons = 11... life is worth living again! Yipeeee !
Callaway used the old blueprint of the Ben hogan Apex Edge irons which they got when they bought the company back in 2003 or something. Callay way was kind enough to still produce the hogan clubs until 2008 when the club name Hogan was taken away for good... :( I have the Hogan clubs and i've hit the callaway irons and they are almost exactly the same, with callaway having the legal groves and callaway looks on these of course, but as I said almost the same so if you are an old Hogan fan you should try these clubs
Great video mark, recently tested 2014 irons Mizuno JPX EZ forged, Titleist 714 AP2 and Callaway Apex pro irons. All were great irons but Callaway won me over, thanks for this video to confirm my choice. Will be getting them at the end of February.
i was wondering mark, you tough us, in your videos, how to play golf... but i haven't see yet the complete trajectory of your golf balls, especially with you driver. I would look at that with special attention. Thanks a lot. god speed
Went yesterday at the callaway fitting centre in chessington and got these bad boys with a true temper dynamic gold S300 shaft. The fitting centre was amazing and really recommend to go there! Also got the x2 hot woods.. ( Handicap 6.6 )
I was completely sold on these clubs. I went to demo them recently and found that I was very pleased with the long irons (3,4) that had the tungsten inserts. Great clubs for smashing! But as I got deeper into the set I found that I was actually hitting the X-forged irons farther and with better trajectories. I don't know if this is simply because the swing weight of the x forged better suits my mechanics, or if the slightly larger and heavier sole of the Apex pro is negatively affecting trajectory and spin rates. But all in all, these are great clubs. I think with the right shafts and counter weighting they could perform just as well as the x forged throughout the whole set.
Great review as always. For me, the regular Apex (review coming next?) was more impressive: much more forgiveness, still great looks, same great feel as the Pro, and same great distance.
Great videos Mark, these irons are now in my bag and match up very well with the KBS tour V shafts Changed from X forged 09's which I liked lots but defo made a good decision changing up....Callaway Rock right now across the board ;-)
didnt really like the standard apex but the pro felt great and was getting amazing numbers as well in terms of distance but the feeling u get from striking the ball exactly right with this club is fenomenal
How do these compare for forgiveness to the MP-53s Mark? I'm seriously thinking of replacing mine for the Apex Pro but I can't test them as I live in a very remote area.
Hey Mark, I have a question, my old 3 wood head (Cleveland Launcher steel) cracked last weekend and I am looking to get a new head as the shaft is almost brand new, would the Nike covert 2.0 tour head be good on the shaft, it is quite a stiff shaft and when I hit it the ball takes off low and just keeps it's height. Thanks, Bailey
Hi Mark, watch all your videos, great work. I am a -1 handicapper. Currently have xhot pro with project x 6.0 shafts. Looking at either x2hot pro or a combo of Apex 4,5,6. Then Apex Pro 7,8,9,pw. With the same shaft, thoughts?
How do these stack up against the x-forged 2013? I picked up a set of them this year and love them. Most of what I've read say that the 2013 X-forged are callaway's best players iron to date. Are these any better or worse?
I went to try this club out yesterday and it had a KBS tour shaft in it so it was a little lighter and I was hitting a 6 iron about on average 210 and the carry was average 185-186. It's a great club but it was everywhere for me the consistency wasn't on point
Good review (as usual) Mark. Any chance you can review the Callaway Legacy clubs? Way out of my price range however would be interested to know what your take on them is. Keep up the great vids.
Just bought the Apex pro with KBS c-taper sahft and i previously had the ap2 710. The feel compared I'd say that the callaway presents a smother feel from the face. As for the flight of the ball the different shafts i had does the biggest change. The DG s400 in my AP2s was abit on the heavy side for me so changing to the c-taper made me keep my low launch but let me get abit more speed in the club = more lenght. Besides that it's just a question of wich brand you like the best. They are both really good clubs, but i think the apex pros are abit better looking ;)
I prefer the Callaway's, but shaft will make a HUGE difference to both clubs so something to consider. I went for the KBS CTaper and never looked back. They are slightly lighter than my old Project X's but the ApexPro/KBSCTaper combo is absolutely awesome. The feel I get from them is just amazing, I can work the ball into a fade/draw really easy. Just found the Titleist a little 'clumpy', heavy and not as nice to look at as you address the ball… Be interesting to get some stats on distance over my old clubs… Good luck in what ever you choose : )
So what did they feel like on off-center hits - if the cavity back takes away the feedback from off-center hits then why bother. They did look less toyish than the usual crap callaway puts out. Like all callaway crap it will probably be available on ebay next year for $50. Shame to sully the Hogan 'apex' name.

got fitted for a set 3 weeks ago, gone from a 17 to a 14 handicap and are fantastic irons.
Just got fitted and bought them. Be in the bag when they come it. Felt great during the simulator, excited to play a round with them.
Grant Pfeifer Me too
me too bro
Great video mark, recently tested 2014 irons Mizuno JPX EZ forged, Titleist 714 AP2 and Callaway Apex pro irons. All were great irons but Callaway won me over, thanks for this video to confirm my choice. Will be getting them at the end of February.
These look very clean and smooth styling

Do a review on the callaway lumpy!
didnt really like the standard apex but the pro felt great and was getting amazing numbers as well in terms of distance but the feeling u get from striking the ball exactly right with this club is fenomenal
What sort of distance are you getting with your current set Mark?
Thanks Mark. Great review. I was wondering how it compares with the normal Apex forged irons. Any possibility of doing a comparison video?
You're making it very hard to resist getting these...
what would you pick out of the CallawayApex pro or Callaway XR Pro iron? and why?
How do these compare for forgiveness to the MP-53s Mark? I'm seriously thinking of replacing mine for the Apex Pro but I can't test them as I live in a very remote area.

Thank you Mark very informative and entertaining as alaways - well done, great stuff!
Thanks Bing
Apex pro or jpx ez forged iron for 12 hdc?
Can you do a review of these vs the AP2 714s please?
Hi Mark, watch all your videos, great work. I am a -1 handicapper. Currently have xhot pro with project x 6.0 shafts. Looking at either x2hot pro or a combo of Apex 4,5,6. Then Apex Pro 7,8,9,pw. With the same shaft, thoughts?
just hit these. Fantastic. Incredible look at set up. smooth and strong. 1100 bucks is a bit out of my price range though haha.
Made in Beijing. Careful.
Review of Nike Covert 2.0 irons?
Great vid . Thanks Mark

What lofts are on those irons mark?

2 more days and those suckers are going in the bag. Glad your review was positive 👍👍👍👍

Mark, overall, it seems that you are impressed with Callaway's newest clubs?
Good review (as usual) Mark. Any chance you can review the Callaway Legacy clubs? Way out of my price range however would be interested to know what your take on them is. Keep up the great vids.
Ur #1, i am about to buy those
like the look of these
Too low spin for a 6 iron on those numbers Mark?
Look good. But how much?!
man those balls really do drop out of the sky
Callaway Apex Pro or Titleist AP 2?
I want to know this too. Also the I25's

gret irons thanks
Got em 😎😎😎😎😎
I just got a set from a friend who bought them at a garage sale for $200 and I got them for $250. What an amazing deal"
At that price I would be worried about 'FAKES'..
Where is the gorilla? It's been ages since you guys did a video together... Is there bad blood?

Damn expensive though.
Its a shame callaway stole the hogan design. Im glad Hogan has blown Callaway out of the water with the new fort worth irons.
did you get paid reviewing these clubs
Are those FJ DNA's you're wearing you sneaky bugger?
