Looks like your anvil is a little low. If you stand up straight next to it your knuckles should be just touching the face. It make a big difference if it's too high or low. I'm not really sure if it is, it just looks like it from here
I concur that your anvil is a bit low. I would suggest you bend you knees a little more to compensate and have more strength. I would also heavily recommend you don't pout your thumb on your mallet handle but more around it like your other fingers. Hope that helps
