    • @TheWhoamaters
      @TheWhoamaters Год назад +21

      The time period here is likely between 1878 and 1900, as it is a 19th-century themed video, so we have to stay within the 1800s.
      So why 1878? The previous video on Phrenology would date the series to sometime between 1810 and 1840 in Europe, as that was the heyday of that particular pseudoscience.
      Because John Hughlings Jackson, named in this video, was not only a founding member of the scientific journal "Brain," but he also was not born until 1835. That rules out about the first half of the 1800s, I doubt he published anything worth studying by 15. If his work was being studied by our beloved Dr Hastings, it would most likely be from a publically available source. This is where Brain comes in, the scientific journal, still published today, that Jackson helped found. Its first issue was published in 1878, so more than likely, that is the earliest our story could take place.
      Knowing this, if we say the year is 1878, our 10 shilling price would actually today be £165.08!
      And as for the pseudoscience? I have no explanation

    This is so creative and well done. I look forward to more of these 19th century roleplays!

    Yay more 19th century! I'm loving all these videos. Dr. Hastings is quite a Renaissance woman isn't she? Just does a little bit of everything.

    This is so realistic I caught myself thinking: wow, how did this video survived for so long?
    I’m kinda embarrassed in me, kinda impressed in you

    Fantastic video, my only criticism is for me the fire sounds are too distracting. I get the most ASMR when there's slow, soft and distinct whispering with zero background noise, or at least that's what helps me get to sleep the most!

    This is such a wonderful idea 💡. Very relaxing considering this was a time period that medical procedures were not exactly the safest, to put it lightly 😅 . This concept is a great mix, especially with headphones on. ✨✨

    Omg when she said perfectly harmless” I really thought she was going to say “perfectly splendid” and I was going to throw my phone 😂

    Dr: how did they die?
    Me: Bears
    Dr: oh I see, yes there is alot of that going around.
