    I have installed these on 5 vehicles I've owned over the years.They are an excellent product that looks great and saves dents from people opening doors into yours in parking lots..

    Nice job, and the height looks right... that's about where you want it, after all it is to protect from doors hitting yours.
    Remember there's a lot of trucks and suv's out there that are higher up than cars.

    Hi, I just received GX460 moldings. Its paint finish is awesome. For Gx460 point A (9.5”) and B (10.5”) are different vertically. Where do I measure the point A and B horizontally ? Measure from Mid of front door for Point A and mid of rear door for Point B? Or measure them from the farthest corner bottom of each front and rear doors?

    You can also add another step by taping the top part of the molding to the car. Just don't forget to pull and stick out a little bit of the adhesive cover, just enough so you can pull it off later on. It's also good to do if you want to preview it first. Mine I didn't install it close to the side so previewing how and where I want it to look good makes this step useful. Using clear tape is also useful for previewing reason. Back to the extra step. Once you lined it up and taped (On my truck it was long and slightly flexible I had to tape 4 spots on front door and 2 on shorter rear). Start by pulling the molding adhesive cover from the bottom on one side and slowly work your way to the other end. Pull about an inch to start with then longer as you progress. Mine was wider molding so it has top and bottom adhesive tape. The top part was easy, this time I pul it off from top. If you happen to forget to stick out a small piece of tape or it went back in place while you were adjusting. Don't panic just use a toothpick or other thin object to stick out a piece of tape. It happened to me, one I forgot the other it went back on. Might be a good idea to tape the piece sticking out so you don't lose it hmmm:).

    When I opened the container, I noticed the glue activator tube didn't have a cap on it, and I could smell the contents. The exposed cotton seems dry. Does this mean the contents are dried up, or will it be ok when I crush the center of the tube? Also, how important is using the activator with the 3m tape?

    Amazing, is this to protect your car from getting door dings from idiots who fling open their car doors.

    I tried this came out crooked. The side panels are contoured it is tough to stretch a piece of tape straight across this bend in side of auto. If instructions for instance say measure up 15" @ point A and 17' @ point B take a large piece of card board and make template taking in account for width of trim. Tape template in place, then place trim on top of template and you will have straight line. Search you tube some high end vehicles like Lexus come with large template. Measure twice, three and four times, look down template inspect very carefully, once this molding is stuck it is a mess to remove. I hope you can learn from my mistake. LIVE AND LEARN

    What type of tape is this blue tape? Paper tape?

    • @radbooley5207
      @radbooley5207 3 года назад

      It's called painter's tape... it's a type of masking tape that's used for marking and masking off areas to be painted. Why it's so good to use when replacing trim is not only does it mark off the area where you're going to install the trim, but it's also easy to remove when you're done and doesn't leave any residue or harm the finish.

    Much better than the other video by Mfg.'s other RUclips channel (
    Sportwing 239 subscribers -
    ruclips.net/video/eFjh3Ekp4tc/видео.html) which mfg. links from their web site. They should direct link to this video. I noticed watching both video's - that the adhesive strips shown in this video are different from the other video and different then the one that shipped for my Mazda CX-5 model. I can't simply pull off the red plastic strips shown in this video- that would be too easy. I need to pull off all the red tape (4 sections) and place down in one action. The way the Pro Bond self applicator is applied seems a bit relaxed. Shouldn't the bond be applied so when the rail is attached - the bond covers fully the depth of the rail- 1-1/2' (for ex. ex.)?
    Question- Going through a car wash- any problems? After install would I wait a week?

      I get average 2 dings a year, I rather put 2 strips of mouldings one high one low just cuz i'm so sick of these idiots dinging my doors. the most ugly mouldings look better than even the prettiest dings.
