- Here is a step by step installation for the YakAttack LeverLoc Anchor Trolley. In this video we install the basic kit on a Jackson Kayak Cuda 14. For more product details and to find a dealer near you, visit www.yakattack.us.
Thanks, that was a good, "right to the point" tutorial without 10 minutes of opinion and anecdote. Appreciate it.
I had this system sitting in my closet for the past year and finally installed it on my Sea Ghost, wish i did it sooner! Works a treat!
Thanks for the video. It makes installation much easier and reduces the chances of mistakes. I installed one today on my new Perception Pescador 12. I looked at several systems and this seemed like the most professional looking and best functioning. I like the locking feature and the way the line is held in place by guides. I am very pleased and will recommend it to others.
Great clear instructional video, simple to install. I have one of these on my Viking Profish 400 and will installing another one on my Perception Tribe 11.5. Once installed, works flawlessly.
Just got mine in the mail, and I was very happy to see you had this video to make the install simple
Feel free to call us if you need any help.
Thank you for posting this video of how to rig an A.T. Will definitely help in the future.
When I first opened & installed this anchor trolley I wasn't impressed installing the pulleys only using screws and honestly I still don't like that part but aside from that over a year later and this anchor trolley is performing great! I recommend using at least one bolt in the center of the pulley (or a well nut if you don't have hull access) especially if you have a kayak with a high freeboard like a Pro Angler. I just bought another one. These are great anchor trolley systems!
Mine just arrived today for my 128T, good video and very helpful!
Thanks for this video. I kept waffling back and forth about the standard trolley or the HD one. I ended up with the standard trolley (just purchased today) since I could get it locally and could always upgrade to the HD backing plates if I feel like I need to. 99% of my fishing is done in fairly small inland lakes in good weather so I think (hope) the standard version will be good for me.
I have to say I think this is the best anchor trolley on the market. am ordering one today. the instructional video was great a lot better than that other yak company doing instructional videos that doesn't have a clue. thums up I bought a fishfinder finder it would be cool see how you mount one. the paddle video would help out a lot I have a really cheap paddle but its the only 1 I've ever used so I don't know if am missing out by not getting a better one. great video
+iwantosavemoney Thank you. The LeverLoc Anchor Trolley was a fun product to develop and design. We wanted an anchor trolley system that was unlike anything else on the market and solved a few common problems typical anchor trolley systems encounter.
Just installed mine today on an Ascend 10t. Added some silicone under the hardware for some extra protection. Install was easy, hopefully it holds up!
stegmandd I’m looking to purchase an ascend 10T soon. I’m sure the A.T. will hold up solid.
Just bought one today, looks simple to install!
Best video I’ve seen yet
Learning everyday! Thanks
Great video! I'm super happy with my Yakattack trolley system. I have a favorite kow water dam i like to fish and being able to anchor in the middle of the current has meant MORE BITES AND MORE FISH! What more can you ask for?
Worked great. Thanks!
I have an led strip in the front of my kayak and I installed it pretty close to the top of the chime (sp?) because I didn't factor in the anchor trolley but something worth mentioning next time or make another video on installing leds and mention it then.
Great video. No fluff...just get to it.
This will work with a anchor wizzard right? Same installation? With the anchor wizzard you need a fixated retrieval position
Great video
Great video! I may have possibly stripped some plastic from over tightening. Would you suggest taking the screw out and adding super glue to it or what would you suggest?
I tied a loop in mine..for the anchor hook up clip... vs.. a metal ring...
Can you do an install for the Leverloc anchor trolley on a Jackson big rig 2016? Much appreciated.
Luther any suggestions on a line to follow on the Bonafide SS127
Thanks for vid 👍🏾
This is a great product. But I recommend using rivets or well nuts. Screws are not enough in my opinion. When you have a yak that weighs 100+ pounds with gear. Those pulleys will have tons of pressure on them in high winds and current. Just installed two on my feelfree.
Did you use rivets on your boat? Did they fit OK? I am also having doubts about using screws without backing. Did you get Harken pulleys or Stealth pulleys. What is the quality difference. I have read that the Yakattack Stealth pulleys are not very strong/good.
I have yet to see one of these kits on a Old Town predator 13 or one installed from the factory. Is there any reason for that and is this kit recommended for a predator 13 ? Thank you.
I like to use well nuts when I do installations on my kayak would I be able to use them with your anchor Trolley system? Thanks Stewart
👍👍👍 greetings looks interesting where you have the Kayak
What do I do if my ring keeps snagging on the guides ?
Love y'alls products! I'm about to get a feel free lure 13.5. Do I need adapters for the side gear tracks? Or just the uni track bar. Could you make a video about this topic please?
+Kosmo Kayak Fishing The adapters will allow you to use products like the YakAttack Screwball on both the Uni-Track and the Uni-Bar. We will add that to the list of videos to shoot. Thank you for the suggestion.
+Kosmo Kayak Fishing You should get the Jackson Kayak Kraken 13.5 it's the same price and much better.
Would this work with an anchor wizard chute deployment system?
Should one put an anchor trolley system on each side of the boat or just one side? Great Video. Thanks.
You don't see it on every boat, but it isn't uncommon to have an anchor trolley on both sides of the boat.
Saw another video where the guy recommended to mount the trolley on the opposite side of your dominant hand which holds the rod in order to keep it out of the way. So left side for right handed person. Seemed to make sense to me.
I know this is years old but hopefully you still monitor. Did you repaint that kayak or did it come that way? If so, what did you use for paint. I like it.
The kayak in the picture was a stock color YakAttack Edition by Jackson Kayak so it wasn't painted.
I have a mightymount2 to put my safety flag on my perseption outlaw. can I use the included bolts eventhough I don't have access to the underside of my deck
Hey Luther. Awesome video and awesome products. I do have a question. I have a Journey 10 ss. I'm finding it difficult to install the 1003 due to the mold on my kayak. I can easily install the two pulleys but I can't figure out where to install the locking mechanism. If I put it above the mold it will not be aligned with the rope. if I put it below the mold the the flap of the mold keeps the locking lever from being used. Can you please give me some pointers? Thanks for your time!
Could you possibly send us a picture of your kayak, and the placement of the pulleys? We have never installed an AMS on this particular boat. Just send the pictures to support@yakattack.us and we will certainly help you
Thank you!
I really like the idea behind the HD kit with the vacuum plates but can that be installed on a Bonafide RS117.
The RS117 features an access plate at the stern of the kayak. To install the backing plates the use of the YakAttack Rigging Bullet would have to be used to get the backing plates in place. The correct thread Rigging Bullets to help with the install of the LeverLoc Anchor Trolley HD would be the 10-32 Rigging Bullet. Here is a video link to a short Rigging Bullet video showing how they are used. It is for GearTrac but it is the most simple and to the point video example: ruclips.net/video/6EnHBEEQHYs/видео.html
@@YakAttackKayakFishing oh wow that is awesome. Thank you!
did anyone use silicone when putting the screws in?
Do you recommend a dot of silicone for the screws to go through? Also.... Any difference in this one and the AMS-1004.
With the included self-threading screws you can add a bit of silicone after the screw has been installed if you would like. The difference between the basic LeverLoc Anchor Trolley and the HD LeverLoc kit is the HD included 3 backing plates for the two pulleys and the LeverLoc as well as two extra line guides. The basic kit is ample for most anglers. If you tend to anchor in areas with more wind, current, or boat traffic the HD kit would be worth looking at.
Do you put silicone on the screw shafts when permanently tightening them ?? Seems like it will leak if you don't. Just asking.
The pilot hole size we recommend is a bit undersized and the blunt tip thread forming screws help create a nice tight seal. If you want extra piece of mind you could put some silicon around the head of the screw but aren't really needed on the threads themselves.
If anyone is still monitoring this channel, please advise. If you did not have the bungee cords on the bow of the Cuda 14 would you put the forward pulley above the chine? Or is a straight run for the trolley line better? Thanks RJ
I would do the bungee trick or us the YakAttack Rigging Bullet to help with the install to get the pulley as close up to the bow as possible. We did just recently sell the kayak in this video but we were very happy with the component placement over the past few years.
Why no revits? I am going back and forth on brand and type and capability for weight want to use it inconjunction with Anchor wizard.
Are the backing plates only necessary if fishing out in ocean waters??
The standard kit is great for the vast majority of people. The HD kit was designed for those who are using heavier anchor setups and those who anchor in deeper or moving water.
Any way to do these on inflatables?
Is there a video on installing the anchor to this trolley or a drag chain? If so can you point me in the right direction?
Here is a link to an oldie that talks about using our SideWinder Anchor Reel with anchor line and an anchor trolley. It makes things much safer with having a better ability to quick release if you get into a bad situation: ruclips.net/video/E3KX6nHhOWw/видео.html
Where can you order a couple more of those paracord guides or pad hooks?
www.yakattack.us/AMS_1007_p/ams-1007.htm
Great video. Can you tell me what stands you used in the video. We're they a DIY
They were a DIY set made by an old brand friend about 10 years ago. The PVC ended up cracking so we tossed them.
@@YakAttackKayakFishing OK Thanks for letting me know
Wouldn’t using using well nuts or marine sealant on the holes your drilling be necessary?
We don't recommend the use of well nuts with any of our products. Following the instructions using the provided hardware will result in a solid install. Add marine sealant if you want but it isn't needed given the type of screws, the specific size of the pilot hole, and hand tightening.
would you recommend putting marine goo or anything like that on the holes where the screws go?
We recommend using marine sealant for any installation where holes have to be drilled.
@@YakAttackKayakFishing your method of installation doesn't allow for applying any type of sealant to all of the holes before installing the screws. Better to mark the holes with a pen or sharpie and drill them first. Just frustrating to see an installation video on how to do something then recommend to do something else.
@@YakAttackKayakFishing any particular brand you would recommend?
@@DavidCook-jy4cs Amazing GOOP Marine or Loctite seem to be the two brands we are always buying.
@@YakAttackKayakFishing thanks, very helpful!
Hello, can it be put on the Vibe Shearwater 125 model? Thank you very much! I already subscribed to the channel!
The LeverLoc Anchor Trolley would be just fine on the Vibe Shearwater.
Why isn't there some small bungy section
I actually just purchased a Cuda 14 and was looking at options for adding a Hummingbird Helix 5 fish finder . I was curious about mounting on the center console. What would you suggest?
Does your Cuda 14 have factory installed track on it?
YakAttack just on the console.
You could use this mount and attach it directly to the track on the center console: www.yakattack.us/humminbird-helix-fish-finder-mount-with-track-mounted-locknload-mounting-system-ffp-1004/
YakAttack would it be possible to add more yak track to the Cuda 14? And if so what would you recommend?
How would I contact you directly through email?
You could add more track. Feel free to contact us at 434-392-3233 ask for John. Let them know you have a rigging question. Or send us a message on Facebook or Instagram.
can you please show an installation for the hd kit
thanks
Here is a link to the HD install: ruclips.net/video/UzcVStoByRo/видео.html.
Real good Instructions but I have NO IDEA why Yakattack includes Blunt Screws for this Kit - First thing I did was go to the Hardware Store for Stainless Steel Pointed Screws of Identical dimension - So much Easier and Tighter fit and just better
I did not add any silicone when I put the screws in. Would it still be ok to take them out and then put silicone? or should I just leave the alone?
Silicone isn't completely necessary. If you want to add some silicone, feel free to do so, but only do it around the head of the screw. The type of hardware used in combination with the material of the kayak and the pilot hole size is creating a nice tight seal.
@@YakAttackKayakFishing thank you
With the yak attack anchor trolley system, how do you lock your anchor line?
There is a lever lock built into the system. It is the component installed at the 7:35 minute in the video.
@@YakAttackKayakFishing i am asking about the anchor line not the trolley line
@@alielkady5056 an additional cleat would be needed if you are using anchor line. Our GT Cleat or GT Cleat XL could be good options to secure the anchor line.
Where did you get the kayak stands?
They were a DIY project by one of our team members years ago. They work nicely and have lasted a long time.
Someone needs to do a video on how to build those.
Can buy your anchor trolley system in Australia
+MrTerryTurtle Here is a link to our dealer locator. www.yakattack.us/category_s/1998.htm. We can always ship to you if needed.
What brand of stand is that.
They were homemade a few years back.
was thinking of buying this kit...but alas...no harken pulleys now. they replaced them with Stealth...i hear they arent nearly as well built
The Harken pulley used in anchor trolleys of the past was designed for the sailing industry and not meant for the use and environments kayaks go through. Being mounted on the outside of the kayak you can hit the pulley on rocks, trees, docks, bridge pilings, etc and the Harken wasn't designed to be put through that stress. The Stealth Pulleys now used in the LeverLoc Anchor Trolley kit are the only pulley on the market specifically deigned for the sole purpose of being used as a component in a kayak anchor trolley.
What is the point of barrings in a pulley for an anchor trolley? That is one more thing that sand, dirt, and sediment is going to make its way into and hinder the performance and also the barrings are noisy and simply not needed in a product like this. Instead we use a Teflon infused nylon roller that is never going to give out, it much quieter, and built to last the life of your kayak. No other kayak accessory company stands behind their products to offer a lifetime warranty on their anchor trolley which we now do. The Stealth Pulley is protect from impact and is snag free from both sides of the pulley making it the right tool for the job.
Does it matter left or right side?
The side of the kayak that you install the anchor trolley is purely personal. Let's say you use our CellBlok fish finder mounting system and you mount it on the left side of your kayak. With having a transducer arm on the left side you would want to install your anchor trolley on the right side. Some customers install the anchor trolley on the right side if they are right-handed and vice versa.
Just bought this kit - no goop? No well nuts? Nothing?
Owl Jones that's what I was wondering too....too bad no answers
Maybe you bought the AMS 1003 instead of the AMS 1004?
Where can I buy that exact kit?
www.yakattack.us/LeverLoc_Anchor_Trolley_p/ams-1003.htm
This was the most frustrating install. I think it got the cut off screws for the HD version. It was a PIA to install. I don't know how he managed to do it himself. Even with my wife pushing from the other side, it took me an hour to do all 8 screws. Should have given me a pointed screw so that it would better guide the screw in. I regret buying this anchor pull - plus they cheaper out with a "strong plastic" pulley instead of a stainless steel. So pissed about this install!!!
David Aggies 😢
Ring keeps snagging on guides
I wish I would have waited and bought one from you guys. I have my own channel with videos. You guys should check it out.
What's the purpose of locking the trolley line? Won't the ring stay at whichever end it's positioned to? It will be pulled in that direction by the anchor once the yak orients itself in the current.
Depending on the current and wind, locking the trolley line gives you the ability to face quartering up or down stream/wind rather then just directly up or down steam. It gives you the extra piece of mind that you will hold position rather than be at the mercy of the water.
probably if one wanted to "lock the anchor in the middle or so" to keep it from sliding to either end of the craft ... .
short answer is NO it won't always stay put, especially if you are adjusting the amount of anchor line you have out (pulling some in)- or when using a drag chain on a river drift and you are constantly letting out or pulling in a little bit of line.
Awesome Video! I wish you had one showing an install on a Pro Angler but this was still useful for me in my install. We did a full review of our experience here: www.expeditionrecreation.com/gear/yakattack-leverloc-anchor-trolly-hd
No marine silicone on those screws = water in hull.
Not in our experience.
You Do Not need sealant of any kind when using screws. If you drill a hole much smaller than the screw there is no way water is going to get in. You will get a ton more water inside just from what comes off your anchor when you pull it in or your lure when you bring it in the boat.
@@heidentubrefinishing2976 Sit on Top kayaks have a sealed hull. So no reason not to use sealant just for good measure. For Sit In kayaks, prob not worth it then for reasons you alluded to.
zoom in smh
I’m gonna invent one that’s actually easy to install. Or one that comes with decent instructions. This is wack
