  • Images of St Michael's Cathedral Church, Coventry, which was destroyed on the night of 14th November 1940.
Includes many interior and exterior pictures from before the blitz (which give a good idea of what was lost) followed by images from the 1950's through to 2009.
For more information on Coventry's three Cathedral's visit the Historic Coventry website:

Nicely done as always Simon - educational and entertaining. Great to see my pictures put to such good use, too!

Should have been rebuilt instead of being left as a ruin. But it's an intriguing place to visit and the new Cathedral is an interesting modern building.

The Coventry industrialist, Sir Alfred Herber, wanted the cathedral to be rebuilt to its former glorious self.

Part of my family attended church services there at the old Saint Michael's, maybe some today, I have no idea who they are. I'll never understand the bombing of any church by another Christian nation. How did this happen? Yes Hitler. It was either an accident or done by unbelievers. I pray for the souls of those that destroyed St. Mikes.
