Imagine how easy this test would be for Rohan. He could literally just Heaven's Door the guards to ignore him and just set the lighter up in a situation where it won't go out. Or he could Heaven's Door Polpo into thinking he passed even if he failed it

Theoretically the smartest solution to the test is to leave the lighter in the hall to his prison. Probably underneath the observation camera. No one would come into the prison hall and Polpo probably wouldn’t even know it was there. The air in that room is still and quiet and the lighter has enough juice to run for 24 hours. Then the next day you come back to the prison, pass the guard check and just pick up the lighter. Granted, you wont get a stand through this process.
Well like I said it all depends on placement. Personally, I’d put it on top of the camera because even if a guard entered, they wouldnt be likely to look up. Additionally, drafts and breezes occur towards the floors of rooms. The prison door is also a sliding door which means the gust it creates is not as extreme as that of a hinged door.

Something of which only Bruno and possibly the other members are aware. How many people did he meet and make friends with only to later send them to their deaths at the hands of Black Sabbath? Seeing him interacting with all of them knowing they would very likely die later because of him suddenly becomes much more chilling.
The beauty of Jojo 5 is how crime is portrayed as the savoir of the ones who social institutions supposedly dedicated to protect have failed, education in the case of Fugo, family in the case of Narancia, justice in the case of Abacchio and so on. Actually, Golden Experience was actually peirced during that battle.... nothing happened. My idea is that if you don't have a single minded needed objective, it will peirce and then do nothing. Notice how it moves on its own when Kira has having a massive panic and was extremely desperate, and at first peirced G.E. and did nothing before worming its way into his hand. Meaning that, during the initial peirce Giorno was almost desperate enough, but when Diavolo gloated he became desperate enough. The same with Silver Chariot.
Snow Creek you do realize that is not the requiem arrow, right? It’s a regular arrow. If it was the requiem arrow, then Diavolo would have just asked polpo for it
@@liamczap5030 Ok, the idea of a requim arrow is unsupported by the actual Anime and Manga. Sure! The arrows look different but thats it. Is Polpo aware of [BLACK SABBATH]? He didn't acknowledge it's exposure to the sun or the multiple beatings it received from Giorno. Also, it's been stated that it's an automatic stand, so it acts independently of Polpo.
Polpo: Nothing by the way you want to see something cool? Polpo then proceeded to pull out the gun and shoot the lighting summoning B.S. guy: I feel like I just got shanked by a renassance wannabe.
"So, this flame." "Hmm?" "I must keep this particular flame alight, correct?" "Yes, those are the rules." "Ok." *Procedes to light a cigarette, and blows out the lighter.* "The flame is carried in my cigarette. I will return with it tommorow."
Keeping a cigarette burning seems a lot more difficult than a lighter . Unless you use that logic to keep transferring things to other things that burn which might make for an equal if not more difficult and Bizzare situation
The finger thing was a reference to the lead guitarist of Black Sabbath who created Heavy Metal after losing those very same fingers. It was a result of his prosthetics making him play differently
In the flashback, a member of La Squadra (I think Illuso) says “speaking of useless abilities, (like Formaggio’s) where’s Sorbet and Gelato?” Which implies that one or both were stand users, albeit with “useless” stands

Bucciarati : "Ok" *La Squadra and Bucciarati's gang killed the boss, Bucciarati, Abbachio and Narancia are dead because Rolling stones, and Risotto is currently the boss*
You're missing the part where Giorno and Risotto are working directly against each other. They both want control of the drug trade for their own personal use, except one wants it for profits, and, the other wants to end it.
I have a theory that Polpo and Black Sabbath may not have always been as we see them now. It's unlikely that Polpo could rise in the ranks with his body as it is and a remote stand that has the potential of strengthening his enemies. It's more likely that Sabbath used to be a more traditional stand, like it was maybe longer ranged and could jump through shadows, and that Polpo was a more normal looking person when he entered the gang. Ge definitely didn't have the arrow in his mouth to start. When he became capo, Diavolo gave him an arrow with which Polpo was to create stand user grunts with. At this point, Polpo was a high-ranking mafioso who probably lived in excess, so when he was given this stressful task as a direct (or as direct as it can be) order from the boss, his stand evolved and absorbed the arrow like Kira. Black Sabbath went through a weird mini-requiem, gaining the ability to grab souls and a remote behavior, and Polpo changed his body over time to fit his slothful ability.
You can see a younger Polpo in a one shot where Jolyne goes to Italy and Bruno and Polpo think she stole a unicorn. Polpo looks similar but is smaller and less fat. I forget the name of the one shot, I think it was done for Gucci or something.
You know what would be a badass series? Someone taking fan's stands and seeing how well they'd do in the Lighter Test. Imagine how much fun we could have....
I still find it bothersome, that someone actually capable of smuggling the lighter is punished with not getting a stand and a seemingly lower position.
@@zashgekido5616 I think those people would have a higher likelihood of unlocking a stand if they did re-light the lighter. If I was Pulpo, I'd tell them to turn it off and on again.
I don't like the theory that getting a stand is contingent on getting stbabbed in the first place. I feel like a better version of the theory is you get stabbed regardless of whether you pass or fail the test, at what point you get stabbed simply determines what sort of position you're suited for. This test doesn't cover all positions of La sqaudra but definitely some of the important ones. People like Leaky eyed Luce were likely associates , people who came over from some other gang, or people who just answered to passione in their protection money collection structure without getting the benefits of being full fledged members. A slightly more iffy idea is that since not all positions NEED stand users poplporo may ask the person reccomending you or do some independent research to decide whether you really need to get a stand or if you would be able to handle it.
You also discount the possibility of someone failing to keep the flame lit, and returning to Polpo to return the lighter without attempting to relight it and admit defeat. This outcome would show the person could be trusted to be truthful, even when that truth is not favorable to them. Such dependability is important in a criminal organization.
Isn't there a 3rd flaw? If you already had a stand, and you reignite the lighter, you will have to face-off against Black Sabbath which is arguably pretty strong (depending on the shadow and location you are at).
Unless you have a reason to hide your stand like Giorno did, you should NEVER encounter that issue. Just show Polpo "Hey, I have a stand, here's what it does" and you'd be in.
Great, now I really want to see a version (or read a fanfic) of what would of happened if Giorno joined La Squadra. The sounds amazing and I absolutely loved Risotto as a character even though he was quite a minor one. Thanks :/ Very well done video regardless, I especially loved how you broke down each answer to the test would result in a different position in Passione.
Waitaminute... In Narancia's origin story, it says that he went to visit Polpo unbeknownst to anyone, and passed. WHO GAVE HIM THE INVITE??? Did he just use his stand to find Polpo? How would he know how to find him?
I think Narancia had contacts who knew about Polpo, he was already living in poverty and likely knew gangsters older than him who might've known about Passione without actually working in it. Narancia went to ask Polpo to join, probably let the lighter go out the moment he left the prison (because it's Narancia of course) and Black Sabbath gave him Aerosmith. He was put in Bruno's group and was taught about Stands by Fugo and Bruno.
@@iwantsleep8079 Aerosmith has a cockpit with a pilot inside, Narancia probably just had the pilot carry the ligher in it. Either that, or like RichGang said, he let the lighter go out while Polpo was still explaining the rules before he even left the prison.

A Risotto`s squad story would be awesome also I'm curious how Diavolo recruits his guards cause Notorious B.I.G was only activate when his user dies so what requirement do you need?
I'm thinking if that happened, Risotto would be a mixture of Bruno and Abbaccio to Giorno, as in the leader of the group, but not fully trusting of Giorno. But at some point while their fighting an enemy Stand and Risotto is terribly wounded, he then realizes all the times Giorno was always helping him, always by him, always with him. And right now, Giorno's getting destroyed, but Risotto's recollections would glue his soul back together, causing Metallica to leak from his wounds and all the Metallica Stands would merge into a more humanoid Stand, which is shown after Risotto opens eyes to reveal that they've gone from black to white, symbolizing his soul being together again and proceeds to body the enemy User.
Would be hilarious if someone got a good stand and returned the lighter which is still off "sorry Polpo I failed" "oh good day to you then" and then the guy left Italy to make money with his stand lol
What aboug people who's lighter goes out, and they bring the unlit lighter to Polpo. I'd like to imagine that if this happens, Polpo sees that this person has a heart of gold, and lets them join, as they are honest, and by extension, trustworthy.
Black Sabbath's arrow is just a normal stand arrow and not a requiem one . So Giorno would end up with a stand similar to "Bites the Dust" instead of Gold Experience Requiem . Considering his situation , he would probably receive a stand required to track down the bossu(like Babyface) or upgrade Gold Experience to detect life energy like a radar . But it's just a theory
This test is way too easy for gamers. If you never do anything aside from play games at home, then what can logically put out the fire? - Fan? Just don't turn it on. - Wind? Your inside a house just don't open the shutters. - Sweeping motion? Just put it in a corner and don't go near it. The only hard part at this point is the prison guards, but let's be honest, what gamer hasn't learned a million different ways to break in/out of a prison?
Simply recreate the lighter with an excruciating amount of detail. And avoid relighting the one that will trigger black sabbath. Although you would need to know that stands exist in the first place.
What would happen if you close your eyes, extenguish and relight the lighter, in a crowded area and open your eyes after ther reignition so you wouldn't have seen it but dozen/hundreds of people around you did.
giornos hair donuts can actually store an infinite amount of objects because theyre portals to pocket dimensions thats how giorno actually passed the test
Because Giorno needs to be the one to stab it. Also, a cut is different from a stab. There's another theory that because the arrow used to make both silver chariot requiem and golden experience requiem has a bug on it but the other arrows don't, the arrows without a bug are incomplete. The finger thing was a reference to the lead guitarist of Black Sabbath who created Heavy Metal after losing those very same fingers. It was a result of his prosthetics making him play differently

You're missing the part where Giorno and Risotto are working directly against each other. They both want control of the drug trade for their own personal use, except one wants it for profits, and, the other wants to end it.
Like number 70. Balance restored.
Maybe he can use whichever object he wants on black sabbath's mouth, be it a regular knife or a stand arrow.
You can see a younger Polpo in a one shot where Jolyne goes to Italy and Bruno and Polpo think she stole a unicorn. Polpo looks similar but is smaller and less fat. I forget the name of the one shot, I think it was done for Gucci or something.

Imagine how much fun we could have....
Yeah
Three years later and this video is still great. Also, La Squadra member Giorno AU is an amazing concept and I would love to see it too.
I still find it bothersome, that someone actually capable of smuggling the lighter is punished with not getting a stand and a seemingly lower position.
How long do you think those poor standless bastards would last?
@@zashgekido5616 I think those people would have a higher likelihood of unlocking a stand if they did re-light the lighter. If I was Pulpo, I'd tell them to turn it off and on again.
It’s cool my dude. Those people would likely unlock a stand later in life. The arrow isn’t the only way.
They are some position that is not very dangerous
*Polpo is one T H I C C B O Y*

Simple, hed nigerundayo past the guards
You also discount the possibility of someone failing to keep the flame lit, and returning to Polpo to return the lighter without attempting to relight it and admit defeat. This outcome would show the person could be trusted to be truthful, even when that truth is not favorable to them. Such dependability is important in a criminal organization.
But since trust in the criminal underworld is built on lies, a person who admits the truth can be seen as a threat.
My question is why didn't Giorno just keep it as a flower until he got back 🤷🏾♂️

Isn't there a 3rd flaw? If you already had a stand, and you reignite the lighter, you will have to face-off against Black Sabbath which is arguably pretty strong (depending on the shadow and location you are at).
That isnt supposed to happen, in just about every circumstance but Giorno's, you would just tell them you have a stand, and they'd just let you in
Unless you have a reason to hide your stand like Giorno did, you should NEVER encounter that issue. Just show Polpo "Hey, I have a stand, here's what it does" and you'd be in.
Doesn’t it grant you a new minipower to your actual stand? Like Kira at the end of DIU.
@@ozymandias8523 That only happens if the arrow chooses you for a second time. If not, you better not get impaled by it, or else you'll be very dead.

Waitaminute...
In Narancia's origin story, it says that he went to visit Polpo unbeknownst to anyone, and passed.
WHO GAVE HIM THE INVITE???
Did he just use his stand to find Polpo? How would he know how to find him?
Michael Wadsworth he definitely got Aerosmith by Polpo , Fugo got Purple Haze by Polpo even though he is very intelligent
BloodStalker 500 well knowing Narancia he probably put flame out in front Polpo while he tells him the rules
More importantly, how would a stand like Aerosmith be able to return the lighter. . .

Carne can summon it normally, just as he does on the airstrip.

Part 5 would have been so short had black Sabbath just stabbed giorno and we got GER like 4 episodes in...
Can't believe it's option 3, which is Gold Experience simply rejecting the weaker virus and getting nothing in return 😐
The way I thought of it was that either you become a stand user or you've proven your dedication to the gang
Alright, but I would also like to see a alternative universe where Giorno joined El Squadra instead of Bruno's group

giornos hair donuts can actually store an infinite amount of objects because theyre portals to pocket dimensions thats how giorno actually passed the test
Plot hole: gold experience was hurt by the arrow that black sabath carried in his mouth..... why he didnt became requiem?
Because Giorno needs to be the one to stab it. Also, a cut is different from a stab. There's another theory that because the arrow used to make both silver chariot requiem and golden experience requiem has a bug on it but the other arrows don't, the arrows without a bug are incomplete. It's complicated
