- Melvin the Magical Mixed Media Machine (or just Melvin the Machine) can be described as a Rube Goldberg machine with a twist. Besides doing what Rube Goldberg's do best - performing a simple task as inefficiently as possible, often in the form of a chain reaction - Melvin has an identity. Actually, the only purpose of this machine is promoting its own identity.
Melvin takes pictures and makes video's of his audience which he instantly uploads to his website, facebook and twitter account. Besides that he makes his own merchandise. All of this within 4 minutes of craziness which you just have to witness yourself.

I didn't know it was going to be a Rube Goldberg device.
#MissedOpportunity to somehow incorporate in the machine to put out the flames
amazing plan!!!
0:06 Tick-Tock… + 0:13 Ring!
Irado vei.
Thats some chain reaction...
Hiiiii, I’m Sihan
omg my name is melvin...awesome
This must take forever to set back up.
i wonder.....if theres a way to make rude goldberg machine that can reset all its elements as it goes along so that it can just keep going and going.....would it be classed as the ever elusive and so far impossible (though not improbable) 'perpetual motion engine'??
You can make a special type of floor and make a big loop of dominos, and if a domino falls, the floor lifts and lowers to reset it. There would have to be one for TONS of dominos, cause this would be slow,so yeah it's possible it would work like this. When it falls, the floor lowers and the floor it fell on lifted. Then it would be upright.
And the floor would not make power it would use it. With solar panels to make it infinite.

They have already been big marble machines like those XD

How many takes did this take? And how many hours were put into it?
Love the Rube Goldberg machines, but the camera work on this video is mediocre for the quality of equipment you used. The camera men (consider more than one?) need to show more of the action happening, and you should consider several fixed angle cameras to capture the fast-happening sequences. Then go back and edit the video together.
Wow :) das is geil ^^
cameramen, much to learn you still have...
Looks like sci-fi
Cessna154 liked this!!!
Wallace and Gromit would be proud
Very cool machine, but very poor camera. Why is it so blurred most of the time, and did the camera team have no plan on whats going to happen? So much work for such a bad video. I would sack those camera-people for shure (if hired anyways...)...!
@erdweigerer I definitely agree at all!!
I'm sure it's neat, but the video did a very poor job of explaining how the machine works. I think it's also partly the design of the machine, but the filming didn't help. The video makes it look like just a bunch of sequential events, with no apparent connection. How did X trigger Y? This isn't explained at most steps, taking away a lot of what makes a Rube Goldberg machine clever and fun to watch.
tom n jerry lol
camera guys should clean the miss ..
Bloco de nota minecraft
Concept is great ... but the camera work was really disappointing...
Tem como
Cool stuff! Unfortunately the camera work sucked.
Someone has way too much time on their hands.
@omfgmynicktaken maybe they were not properly informed byt their employer about what they had to shoot
I didn't like the cameraman's work. Most of the time behind... too far away so you cant recognize anything... anyway good job :-)
Awful camera work, but great project!
Fui
what kind of witchcraft is this
a master piece... ruined by film work D:
Camera work sucked, cool project
The steadicam men needs a new arms :S (poor filmed)
very bad camera operators work......
Shit camera work, also how is this mixed media? I don't see skype sending a message to a phone that starts vibrating and continues the flow again.
very bad way of filming this!
operator work sucks.
