He sounded exhausted. Maybe he just didn't have the energy to deal with a rambling Granny Smith. Loved the way you talked to him in the end, hopefully it will make him think about his life choices. It must have been a nice end to the call for him too.!
Goodness Ms.Trix this one was completely unexpected. Hearing what you said to him brought tears to my eyes. The real you has incredible compassion - I hope he can escape. Thank you!🤗
Awww, you reminded him of his own granny with your kindness, and his conscience just wouldn't let him do it. God touched his heart, and he suddenly felt convicted. I'm so grateful that you set your own feelings towards scammers aside and made him feel special, like he mattered. That may have been the first and only time he's ever been told that. I think he will always remember you for that. You complimented him for deciding to do the right thing, regardless of his reasons. I'm sure that had a huge impact on him. Awesome job, Trixie! You killed him with kindness. 🥰❤️🙏✝️
I recently heard a bait from @irlrosie (shout out to her!) where she talked to him about Jesus...... The guy started worshipping and praising on the phone with her and he ended up forgetting about the scam 😂❤
The closest I've gotten to remorse from a scammer is one who told me he was only doing this temporarily until he had enough money to find an honest job. Not sure I believed him. Most won't even hint that they're dishonest. I had one yesterday claiming to be from CVS. I asked only one question, "Are you a scammer". I wasn't yelling, rude, or anything else that could be construed as offensive. He responded by cursing at me and hanging up before I could respond. I would have played the role of the naive victim by asking what I did do to deserve that response. Some apples are more rotten than others.
I think scammers are getting more clue-up on scam-baiting practices. This scammer was suspicious, or skeptical, of your old-lady voice. Perhaps he’s really fresh into the whole thing and therefore naive, who knows. But you were very civil toward him, even knowing about his ‘job’. That must have resonated with him and maybe, just maybe, pricked his conscience. Loved the apple references. What a murky pond you have to wade into Trixie, having to do these calls. You're a trooper!
I'm guessing if he scams someone tomorrow for $500, he would be singing a different tune. Scammers don't have empathy and blame the victim for being stupid. If this guy did not bring in money, the call center would boot him out. The fact he is still there tells you something. Sad story or not.
Wow he sounded so sad! Trixie you were so sweet to him but genuine concern. He will never forget you!!! Everything has a purpose and you are blessings us by educating us! But with this young man just letting him know that he matters!! And he could do better for himself
I remember hearing a scammer refer to his boss as his "owner", on one of TAGOW's videos. When this guy said remember we're on a recorded line and that other forces were in play, not exactly those words, but words to that effect, it made me think of that comment. 🤔
Im sure he tried to scam others he sounded exhausted, or maybe he just wanted to end his day . I wish he'd stop, but once they get a taste of the easy money, they dont stop unless something far better comes along . I don't want to seem negative, but my years listening to these people they see it as their only way to survive and help their family. I love that name 😂Thanks Trixie
I don't think you're being negative at all. In that moment, he didn't want to scam me. For whatever reason, that's the way it was, so I didn't treat him as a scammer in that moment.
Aw Trixie that was amazing. You really know how to handle a situation when it presents itself. Full marks for this one. Your questions and responses to this guy were spot on. You are such a lovely person. Thanks again for sharing all of these experiences....This is such a valuable service.
I'm glad you gave that scammer some good advice and I'm glad he didn't try to scam or manipulate or talk sexual I think he's just doing it because he has no option and he probably doesn't have education for anything else a lot of the times these scammers they are forced to do these jobs and scam people but then they get so hooked that they don't care about doing the right thing.
Unfortunately I do feel sympathy for scammers once in a while, because I know some do have a hard life. But this guy, honestly I think he just sounded too tired to deal with chatterbox granny smith. 🤣🤣🤣 Love you Trixie!!! 💞
He sounds so depressed and maybe the guilt he feels got to him, but it is very difficult for these people to leave these type of positions once they get into it. The poverty they face in India/Pakistan can seem unbearable and tempts them into believing people living in western countries are so rich they can afford to loose some money. They do not understand how hard people work to build up their savings for retirement and how much more expensive it is to live in the USA/Australia/UK etc,. AND it's the "big shots" and bosses behind the scam operations, the corrupt police and politicians raking in the money! It does not justify their criminality but sadly they justify it to themselves! Once the devil starts the ball rolling it can be very difficult to listen to the angels whispering in your ear.
You know how bullets made of silver are lethal to vampires?, well your references to apples had the same effect on this scam boy!. He was either very tired, or the notion of apples drained his scammer instinct. He really sounded like his parents learned he was a call centre scammer, & he had to face them after work. It was certainly a bit different, he was hapless with the apples!!.
Trixie, I called my phone company and they sent me a code and said don’t share it with anybody but they asked me for it why? I didn’t give it to them. That was awesome that he didn’t try scam you.
If you're 100% sure you called your phone company, they may be using the code to verify you. However, scammers have the real company send codes then impersonate the company and ask for the code in order to gain access to your account.
I feel the same, and my sympathy always has a layer of doubt. In the years of scambaiting, I have had ONE scammer who I think really left scamming. We remained in contact for quite a while.
That was an interesting surprise ending. I'm thinking that if Granny Smith returns, she might want to mention that her husband, Adam died from a poisonous snake bite. Just a thought...........
I thought in the beginning that Jonathan was a reference to Johnny Appleseed. Anyway, what a turn of events this was. I hope he does find employment where he can earn a living. I’m sure life isn’t easy for him.
@@TrixieTricks That’s so interesting. I live on Long Island, many farm stands and apple orchards. I wasn’t aware of Jonathan apples. I will be looking for this now 😊

That was definitely an unexpected ending. He sounded so depressed and unhappy to me and I don’t think he was faking it. There was an article I read a couple of months ago about Indians being trafficked and forced into working in scam call centres for very little money, or in some cases working for free. Perhaps he is one of those unfortunate people..
This was a different call for you. Loved it. I enjoy the angry scammers. But, maybe you got through to this guy. Just a little. Just enough to make him wonder why he keeps going back. Maybe he needs another job. Maybe he is burning out with the long hours and frail voices he is robbing from. Maybe he goes legit. Let's hope.
I got a call a couple of weeks ago from a scammer in Pakistan. He broke down and said he couldn't find a job anywhere else and he had to earn money to support his family. I tried to give him some suggestions on what else he could do. Not all of these scammers are bad people. They're just in a bad situation and just trying to survive.
I know that some of these young men are forced into marriages and jobs that they don’t want by their familiies. Some have a harder time adjusting than others. I hope that he can get out and find a legitimate job.
He was truthful in saying that he decided not to scam you because he believed you were trying to sound like an old lady. I don't give him any cool points. He didn't take responsibility for what he is doing either. Him stating that what he is doing is 'not by his hands',that says it all for me.He is forced to do it..NOOOO everyone has to make decisions in their lives, and have to understand the consequences of those decisions whether good or bad.He hung up and probably got an older person and tried or did scam them.
He probably tried to get a victim right away. After I hung up I did everything I could to cause that number to get as many baiter calls as possible. Just because I wasn’t in the mood to do it didn’t mean I wasn’t in the mood for it to be done. Haha!!!🤣
Yes! I'm inclined to believe there's always something someone can do, but I'm a business owner in the USA so I know my perspective is skewed. I hope he makes his way out.
Hey Scammer !!! How'd ya like them apples ? !! 🤪 [ Your husband Adam ? ... Called him Bob ... Did he not call his company "Adam's Apple" ? 🤔] ...Sorry but when scammer said "I'm trying" in such a sorrowful voice ...I didn't believe a word. He was already suspicious, so gave up. It had nothing to do with morals. It doesn't make sense a scammer would scam the vulnerable and elderly most of the time, then would suddenly develop a conscience. Scammers are "professional liars" and can act in many a situation. I've heard scammers cry and beg for money and help saying sorry ...then forgetting to mute ...and laughing in the background. How many had he scammed that day before you ? ....and yesterday ...and all week ? etc. He admitted to suspecting you. The rest was an act.
@@TrixieTricks ....I only ever saw one scammer a few years ago actually change his life with help from Trilogy Media & Perogi and he has a successful business now. ...and one helping inside a call centre risking his life....and this was last year. So it is possible ...but you can tell when they instantly change ...that's fake.
I have only seen one myself a few years ago. We stayed in contact for quite a while and he never asked me for a dime. He expressed true remorse and changed his life. It happens - but not instantly and not often.
I hope that anyone who decided to call this number, leaves a comment about their experience with this young man. Some scammers do seem to be ambivalent about what they are doing, but they still continue to do it. As a scambaiter, Trixie is expected to be a different person... play a role, act. That said, who Trixie is as a person is still there and bubbles up to the surface often. I enjoy when the REAL Trixie shows. up... if only because she is a genuinely likable and fair-minded person. I don't see a hint of racism, hatred, or prejudice when she encounters others. She dislikes thieves... no matter where they are from. My youngest son is 25 years old, so I know that 24 (the age of the scammer) is an age in which one is still trying to find their way in life. My youngest son is a software engineer and, like all my kids (the three oldest are doctors) he had the opportunity to get a higher education. I don't know how the higher educational system works in India. Is being able to go to college based solely on intellectual merit or on one's financial means to afford it? I don't know much about the caste system either or if it still actively exists, despite laws that seem to suggest that it is no longer a part of Indian society... which I don't believe. Is this young man a scammer partly because he lacks worthwhile skills and/or a higher education? If that's his excuse, millions of people fall into the same category... yet they aren't scamming others for a living. It's common to hear scammers say that they can't get any other kind of job so they are "forced" to be scammers. Again, millions of people have a hard time finding a job that provides them with enough money to live comfortably or even just get by. For every "excuse" for scamming, there is a counter argument that cancels out their so-called logic. There is no easy answer to what Trixie explored with her bait. I've heard other scammers "change their minds." Sometimes.. it is because they know they've been exposed and just want to back away and not have to admit to being a scammer. I guess I'm just not convinced that this scammer had a "change of heart." Being that Trixie's character is everything the average scammer is looking for... a little old lady with a bank account...I'm not sure why he decided not to scam her. He did mention that he had doubts about Trixie being old 8:11, so it might be that he knew the jig was up and so he decided to end the scam. Scammers rarely tell the truth, even about things that don't matter, so it's hard to know what was really on this young man's mind. Nevertheless, it was an interesting bait, and I thank you, Trixie --AS ALWAYS--for sharing it.
Thank you. I have the same questions and concerns. Bottom line, he didn't try to scam me so I didn't treat him like a scammer - in this moment on this call. I hope he gets out - I hope they all do.
Two wrongs if you know what I mean don't make a right. But I've watched these for years. All is not always what we think, true: they show usually no remorse - but some are almost forced into it by their circumstances. They don't receive all the money that is scammed. But BE ALERT.
I think you might have got to him. He sounded genuinely upset 😢 and perhaps a little ashamed. I hope he does call you to talk privately. I think you might have made a difference to his life. Well...we can hope.
Could it be you are now notorious and the call centres have been warned about you. He sounded genuine though. I hope he can get out and find something else.

He might have recognized your voice, and knew he wasn't going to scam you, and gave up
Entirely possible. That was my one and only call of the day.
how about them apples ?! :)
Yeah! 👍🏻
What about apple sauce.. great work.
Cheers! That’s so kind of you. 👌 Granny Smith will be back.
didnt expect that
I was surprised
Two wrongs if you know what I mean don't make a right. But I've watched these for years. All is not always what we think, true: they show usually no remorse - but some are almost forced into it by their circumstances. They don't receive all the money that is scammed. But BE ALERT.
You are 100% right, great point!!
Do you have a Windows pc? (they always want that) Yes, I was going to get an Apple but I have a Windows
😂
❤
˜”*°•.˜”*°• You're awesome! •°*”˜.•°*”˜💕
I hope he will change his ways
We can always hope.
Granny Smith is a real pip (sorry, that's all I could come up with) 🙂
I'll be trying out Granny Smith again.
Thanks! Seems Sam Smith was somewhat sincere. From India.
Hi Nigella, Thank you. He did sound somewhat sincere to me, too. I wish him well.
Trixie, you touched my heart!
Thank you.
Wow
Indeed
Did the scammer ever call you back? Maybe he would work for Perogi from scammers payback?
No.
Also they don't listen!!
True@
I think he figured out that you were a scam baiter & was too exhausted to play with you.
Definitely a possibility. I was playing around with the apple words.
@ It was very clever!
He scammed you with the puppy dog dropped eyes
He's a scammer.
I think you might have got to him. He sounded genuinely upset 😢 and perhaps a little ashamed. I hope he does call you to talk privately. I think you might have made a difference to his life. Well...we can hope.
I like to hope.
I love apples and used to live on them.

Not religious, but still with some sort of spiritual "not in our hands" concept that excuses any awful thing he does. Humans....
