    Thanks for this. You’re really inspiring! I’m 24 and get easily addicted to things as well. I’ve always been binge drinking in the weekends, using nicotine every single day, drinking tons of caffeine and party drugs occasionally. These past few months I have been quitting every bad habit I had and replaced them with good habits. Reading, learning to code, running, founded a startup and broke up with my girlfriend for after 4 years of a bad relationship. I’m moving to a new city in 3 weeks and can’t wait to live my life and get my business to a billion dollars. Holla at me then!

    So weird watching you after listening to the pod for so long. Great story, loved how open you were and how, despite being very educational, made it seem like it isn't really even a big deal.

    I've never had a drink in my life but I resonated a lot with some of the character traits you mentioned about being an intense person who always goes all the way. That's something I've observed in myself even from a young age and I always stayed away from any substances because I knew I wouldn't be able to stop myself and this has just reaffirmed that position and I'm glad you shared your story.

    Funny. Came here from an design newsletter that recommended your copywriting crash course > I googled The Hustle > then searched the MFM Podcast, and well, here I am, listening to a story that I' can relate to. That "rockstar feeling" speaks to me a lot haha. I'm gonna miss that for sure. Thanks for sharing.

    When you said ages to 20-24 didn't really count, and you feel like you are 27 now, it reminded me of my AA friend calling drinking "time traveling". Like you don't really sleep or rest when you are drinking. You just pass out/black out, and you pick up where you left off. In a fog for years. Those years really don't count. You don't remember them.

    Hey...thanks for the candor.
    To stay sober, would you say you use will power or do you have a system. If the answer is a system, please describe it. Cheers.

    Thank you for sharing. I’m not as far in my journey but I definitely and finally figured it out and realized I couldn’t drink alcohol anymore. It was a problem for me. I see that isn’t that way for everyone but it gets in the way for my life. It’s funny that now that I’ve really committed to a sober life, all of a sudden I’m understanding entrepreneurship in a new light. I owned a farm before because it was what I was passionate about but I made awful money and it was backbreaking. Now I’m learning how to leverage my time as an entrepreneur and build a business in a different way. And there’s no way I could do this if I was still drinking. It’s the keystone habit for my life. It affects so many other areas that it had to stop. I really enjoyed your perspective and I’m glad you are having a ton of success!

    Really appreciate you sharing all this Sam. It's great to hear your perspective on and it means a ton that you're willing to share. Alcohol can be a lot tougher to break and have a lot more control than people realize unless they or someone close to them has gone through it.

    27:30 On the contrary, weed is worse esp. if you're an entrepreneur. Time goes off quickly and you waste time doing nothing than something useful. I'm glad you don't smoke weed and I hope you don't start coz it's not better.

    • @moneywisebyhampton

      How many people have died from weed withdrawals or overdosing?

    • @SaifurMohsin
      @SaifurMohsin Год назад

      @@moneywisebyhampton Quality of life also matters. I was not talking about deaths. If you’re high on weed, you aren’t doing much. As an entrepreneur, time is very valuable!

    • @moneywisebyhampton
      @moneywisebyhampton  Год назад +2

      @@SaifurMohsin You think the quality of life of smoking weed is worse than alcohol? There's no hangover, it's not addicting, and you just wana chill vs. fight and get rowdy when drinking.

    • @SaifurMohsin
      @SaifurMohsin Год назад

      @@moneywisebyhampton There is a hangover--just google search for "weed hangover" and you'll find enough articles on it. If it isn't addicting, then how come studies have shown that more than 41.54% users have CUD (Cannabis Use Disorder)? This clearly indicates that nearly half the people are addicted. And from personal experience, I have seen the lengths people go to get some pot, just to feel "lighter". As for the last part, I personally have come across enough weed users who are violent. I would agree that alcohol-users are more "rowdy" in terms of numbers but that doesn't mean the weed users aren't.
