Before Netero dies, he warns the Hunter Association that someone “claiming” to be his son will charter to a trip to the dark continent. So my theory, is the real Beyond died years ago and this person is a disguised calamity.
Beyond probably is still alive as the man we know today, but he was always kept secret by Isaac. That doesn't change the fact he's probably containing the Zobae disease and is thus still a walking apocalypse.
I love the way the author said it best. Meruem is greater in power than some things in the DC but they are far more suited to Mass genocide which honestly is more terrifying.
yeah it would be weird if Meruem is weak or just average in DC. Meruem took 0 dmg from Netero who is one of the strongest characters. I would think it would be silly if DC monsters are stronger by Meruem in a significant manner.
Exactly, the chimera ants were measured as B rank before Meruem, and prior to gaining Nen. Evolved Meruem is definitely A grade. This video also said Netero was in his prime at age 110 but that’s also questionable.
@@emsa7esm203 Meruem didn't take 0 dmg from Netero. Netero just couldn't deal fatal damage to him and also ran out of steam long before Mereum ever would have.
@@emsa7esm203 Bruh just go back and watch the fucking episodes lmao. Netero had Meruem bleeding from multiple attacks aka he took damage. Obviously he was outmatched by Meruem but that's different from saying "Meruem took 0 damage". One of those statements is true, the other is entirely false.
Netero was past his prime when he got older. that's why when he asked how strong Pitou was from just outside of her senses, they said she may be as strong as him. To this, he flexed stating that his current power is half of what it was. Now whether that was a joke could be a solid question to ask, but we know his son is more powerful than Netero, so it could really be true that Netero was twice as strong as we knew him at one time.
I’ve always liked the idea that the gate keepers are testing humans. They send them home with the one thing they would have to over come to get the item they went to get in the first place. Like the gate keepers are kind of bored and want humans to evolve. So let’s send them predators that the prey would have to overcome. Like in nature nothing can stay stagnant for too long so the flow begins or rot sets in.
I prefer the theory that the reason the gatekeeper exists is to keep Humans stay inside the Mobius Lake because Humans are the most dangerous calamity to the world. So they choose some of the more dangerous creatures in the Dark Continent to deter humans from ever stepping their foot into the dark continent.
@@toybox2917 heh fair point since I can assume humans have not been the best mannered people to visit. But I keep wondering why they gave them the means to get the item they wanted on the way back. In quimera ant arc, is told humans as society/nations are far more dangerous than quimeras....So that might explain why humas are being put in quarentine at the center of moebius lake...And why just a few get the permission to leave while being monitored by gatekeepers/guides. Maybe in the past, humans at those old cities in the D.C was destroying and killing everything.

If Nanika was brought back as a calamity, then it makes sense why most of Killua's family can't stand them. They are basically a curse they are forced to live with because of their ancestor.
One theory (idk if it exists already) I have is that humans are an S-tier threat by themselves and were placed in the middle of the lake, far away from everything else so they don't ruin everything. The Gatekeepers are there to KEEP THEM IN and because eventually someone of the Human race will make it to the Dark continent. Even with the Gatekeepers there. So give them a world-ending threat each time as psychological warefare. I personally don't think it would be out of character to Togashi's writing. The conclusion Meruem draws is that humans are way worse than even Chimera ants because of the Human will. I’ve always headcannoned that the whole bringing a calamity back has to do with a lesson we need to learn. Seemed like ancient humanity was very close to in some way or were on the Dark Continent even. We were either pushed out by someone/something, or humans decided to leave such a dangerous place for one of relative safety (the human world we know). With that in mind, my head-canon is that the lessons the gatekeeper teaches humanity by way of the calamities is to either reinforce that historical notion of being pushed out or us leaving of our own will. Think of Don Freecs - he hasn’t tried to take anything from the continent and wants to simply explore and record places and things. The calamities bring a sense of balance - you take wonderous materials from the new world, and also must bring something horrible (as that major good thing doesn’t exist in the human world, so that balance must be maintained.)

I always wondered why Togashi never mentioned why cant we just send a satellite over there, if the answer is there are no satellites then how do cellphones work? what happens if you send a plane... that kind of question, he can be so meticulous about certain pieces of information in order to create a convincing setting so i wish he explains this eventually.
The world could be a gigantic planet, but then, they would have known that with satellites, unless Nen bullsh*t has prevented it. They have no fixed wing aircraft - airplanes. No helicopters either. They know the concepts of wings and rotary propellers though, so they have pretty good airships. The Dark Continent and Lake Mobius might be extradimensional locations - their Earth is tied by various means to this bizarre and dangerous parallel universe - the Dark Continent. The access point is somewhere in their planetary ocean, once you sail with the intention of getting there. The Gatekeeper entities are the ones who transport you there. This is my head canon.

My God I can already hear Jabari screaming in my ear hxh the best anime alive bro 😭
I think the reason why humans always come back with a Calamity is because they felt I think we have to think of them as like Proctors that see if we pass or failed and us going back back to the world they know means you failed and you take back a Calamity to force you to get stronger
That's a good theory
Hey if you guyes want another anime to explain and dive into try Jigoraku it's cool af and I think you guyes would do great with it
This anime literally is wild card of all
My theory is that don freecs is dead and been reborn as Gin freecs by using his nen.
Wait naniiii Hunter x hunter isn't over yet
15:41 finally somebody else said my theory. I always though since a long time ago⭐️-_-💧
Gah dang they are balls deep within me with this content. Wtf how are y'all this good?
like i get that the editing style is very active and all but it rly hurts the eyes tbh, i think making it simpler would help a lot
my problem with the whole ant arc is why didnt kilo just wish them all away...or wish them to be weak.. kilo having that power would make him the strongest to exist ever.
You should learn more about kilo power.
