A few weeks ago I bought a nice W126 SD 1981 with only 200k 🙈. Yellow paint and the brown interior. It's lucky, one from California, imported to the Netherlands by California classics Holland. I hope to pick in up this week of next week. Can't hardly wait 🙈😂 Your videos will definitely help maintaining my Mercedes-Benz W126 SD. And your W126 SD is almost brand new. I'm a little bit jealous 😜. Good luck with selling this beautiful W126. With kind regards Helmer (the NETHERLANDS 🇳🇱)
Thank you for the compliments and you're going to love your w126 they're the best cars ever made! If you have any questions when you're working on your car feel free to shoot me an email you can reach me through my website www.woodsandbarclay.com
The HDs are actually what Mercedes originally installed and they feel like the original cars did. If you buy the recommended part number they are way too soft and don't feel like the original cars and have a lot of body roll.
@@woodsandbarclay Good to know. Our ‘99 E300 is next in line for new Bilsteins. Then the SD later on. “Doc” the SD has some body roll, but not so much that it’s worth replacing them yet.
Yes we put hours of work into this one to make everything perfect. Lots of new parts! This is an excellent car. If you go to my website you can watch the 7 part video series showing everything we did. www.woodsandbarclay.com
The engine compartment is in video part 7 please go to our website and click on that car you will see a seven-part video series of all the work we did on it. The engine is near perfect showroom condition. www.woodsandbarclay.com

Interesting about the HD shocks. Do they soak up bumps as well as the originally recommended Bilsteins, or are they a little firmer over the bumps?

Nice car for the asking price. Some folks are paying more for vintage air-cooled vw's that are hacked restoration projects.
