- A full playthrough for the new "Soul Melter EX" difficulty in "The Ultimate Choice" game mode in Kirby Star Allies on Nintendo Switch.
This secret difficulty is unlocked by completing "Heroes in Another Dimension", and is even harder than regular Soul Melter.
All bosses have received some upgrades, most noticeably Whispy Woods, Kracko, Meta Knight, King Dedede, Lord Hyness, The Three Sisters, Morpho Knight, Void Termina & Astral Birth: Void.
I played this co-op with my friend, and it was a lot of fun. Yeah, it doesn't really showcase much skill, since it's 2 player, but since my friend was here we just went with it. 👀
I may do a solo run later on, but probably not anytime soon because Smash Ultimate is coming out in a few days.

I dunno, one gets tired after doing boss rushes after a while. Is there a good reason why you have to go through the bosses four times before arriving at the hardest difficulty?

It's like soul melter but you're stuck at one HP, so all damege will kill you.
Also no checkpoints or power-ups or allies, just basic kirby alone.

They should've called Soul Melter EX "TRUE Soul Melter" with respect to the true arena
They instead used EX as respect to Extra Mode in Kirby Dreamland, even going as far as playing its soundtracks from that game

You should read the lore of the pause screens. Void is Kirby from another reality. Depending of what kind of energy was used to destroy Void (Positive or negative) they will resurrect as either a Star Warrior (Kirby) or a Star Conquering Traveler (Termina). Void is dying with a happy face because they will finally have a better and happier life in their next life.

Its actually a reference to the kirby anime. In one episode, the kirb is jumped by a frog and the devil frog takes control and wreaks havoc in cappy town.

I haven’t played this game in a while but I just came back and unlocked this and got all hearts/beat Heroes in Another Dimension, so next time I can have my one cousin over, who also has the game, I will take this challenge on. (Also Void is literally just the game telling you that you shouldn’t have wanted more)
When this game was fresh, I beat it in under a week and when I say that, I mean I 100% the entire game. I never went back to it. But I never knew there was an EX Soul Melter option. I’m gonna try it soon

I know I'm late to comment but I personally would have chosen the yoyo (fire). better invisibility frame attacks and rapid attacks can quickly take down bosses with ease.
but the hammer isn't a bad choice either if I remember the charge uppercut attack is the highest damaging attack in the game. so I guess you can risk getting hit more for a chance to do more damage.
You can spam down+Attack with hammer to get Perma I-Frames, You just need to time it perfectly.

When you activate soul melter ex, kirby literally questions your decision. Like: "ummm you sure you want to do this?" And then player clicks yes. And then kirby would say: "i warned you player... ill give you some extra hp for this."
