I honestly love Nextbot chasings in Gmod. There's no primary objective, no detailed plot to explain and justify the situation, no gore, and no monster or enemy designed to be scary. The only aspect that's apparent is the primal feeling of being relentlessly pursued, with no escape. In a way, they are unnerving, but entertaining at the same time.
Oh that's mention he's speed up. The multiplier speed has increased to make Shrek moves faster. When everytime he kills the player he moves at the speed of light than you. He breaks things, he will consume your soul, and most importantly he will find you no matter where you are? Even that there's no escape from Shrek. Literally just no way escape from the orge.
Now this is one of the wonders of gmod, the ability to recreate anything wether it be a horror movie or a flying bathtub and anything between. Gmod truly is a masterpiece.
I love how this mod gives Shrek three stages. First, where he's all slow and plays distorted music as if he's toying with you, second is where the music just stops and he's quite faster than before. He actually has 6 phases. This Shrek bot was based off of the one from Swamp Simulator. In that game you collect 7 onions, on the 6th and final phase that's when that stressful and scary theme plays. Edit: forgot to mention each phase he gets faster of course

You should try the extreme version of him. Literally, you cannot outrun him with vanilla running speeds. And staying in corners and narrow areas will just make it worse.

The scariest thing about this video is the player gradually going mad, he/she starts off so casually and in the last 2 minutes of the videos they're a paranoid mess.

Think of this from Shrek's perspective. He was transported to the school by some villain, perhaps the fairy godmother. She torments Shrek by giving him the task of killing your character, or else she will inflict pain on Fiona who is trapped and bound in another realm. That's why Shrek keeps frantically hunting you. For every second that passes while you're standing, Fiona is being subjected to pain. The problem is, your character keeps respawning. You just don't stay dead. So Shrek is forever cursed to kill an unkillable person to keep Fiona from suffering. Imagine if your loved ones were forced to do that for you. Imagine if your partner, parents, sister, or brother had to chase something for eternity in order to keep you from suffering. Or imagine yourself doing that for them. That would be horrifying and tragic.
I sometime will dream about a nightmare that a tall shadow just keep chasing me in the endless school field and the shadow just getting faster and faster. That scares the shit out of me
