How can to install mysql and workbench on Mac! Please get download link below
* Installing MySQL

* Connect to mysql
- start mysql server if it stops in System Preference
- reset password for root user mysql
In terminal: mysql -u root -p
mysqladmin -u root -p’old passw’ password new

Worked . Thanks . Used "export PATH=$PATH:/usr/local/mysql/bin" from comments as it was showing command not found and it worked after that . Thanks everyone

I got this at 3:13
Incompatible/nonstandard server version or connection protocol detected (8.3.0).
A connection to this database can be established but some MySQL Workbench features may not work properly since the database is not fully compatible with the supported versions of MySQL.
MySQL Workbench is developed and tested for MySQL Server versions 5.6, 5.7 and 8.0
do I "Continue Anyway" or cancel, because I was never given a temporary password to continue following the rest of the video. please help

Gracias!, your Help me a lot, if you not remember the password, just delete Mysql and install it again, so they give you antoher default password for root and then you can change it.

if command not found is showing up, try adding the whole directory for MySQL:
/usr/local/mysql/bin/mysql

I dont understand your mean much. But you can try 'sudo mysql -u root -p'

I think you should delete Mysql and install it again, so they give you another default password for root and then you can change it

For Mysql 5.7 above, if anyone issue with set password, use the command after mysql prompt,
mysql> set password = password('newPassword');

I had this problem as well but it turns out I was just entering it in wrong because I was missing one character. I would just say double check your password to ensure you're entering it in right.

I think it always generated a temporary password when installing mysql. You can try to install it again. Hope this helps!
