Way beyond my current skill level in music production, but still super interesting to watch. I tend to watch too advanced videos all the time to see what awaits me later on instead of concentrating on the basics ;)
@@TomCasey For lofi I wouldn't use and 808, that's more a trap vibe. What length was the kick in the video? That's more the sound I'm after anyway. Thanks.
I probably made it from my own sounds. I've been ghost producing sample packs for companies for a long time. You can check out my packs here: beachroads.co
Don't hesitate to EQ out some of the high frequencies from your hi-hats and tune them down a full octave. Many hi-hats sounds in lofi are usually lower in pitch and frequency compared to the polished, hi-fidelity samples people usually grab these days
Umbrella term for high-freq elements, like hi-hats shakers claps and sometimes snares, sometimes grouped together in a single stem inside sample pack products
@@TomCasey That makes sense, and is what I would have guessed, but this is the first time I have heard that term, not sure how common it is. Thanks for clarifying!
Man you deserve so much more recognition! This was incredibly helpful!
Thank you! Glad it helped you :)

Thank you for this brother. You deserve much more views and you will have.
Thank you brother. I'm grateful even if just one person finds and likes the content. Cheers!
Lately I've been resampling every sound on my SP 202 or 4track. It's bulletproof for lofi'ing homemade samples. Great video.
My friends all use SP samplers. Classic
Why doesn’t this have more views and likes and stuff!?

Yea, this is an older video of mine and my content can be pretty technical. I'd be happy to make lighter videos in the future. Thanks for watching!
Merry Christmas again, I'm a LoFi addict!

Glad you enjoyed!
Thank you man, helped me a lot! Good work!
Thank you
Which drum Samples did you use for the demo? Thank you so much
I make most of my own samples these days. I also release them commercially @ beachroads.co
very well done and useful, what about a similiar video about sound design of laser FX bobbles, boombap ear candy?
Another great tut. 👍👏
Don't think it was mentioned in the vid, as a rule of thumb, roughly how long should the kick be? 50-80ms? Less? Thanks.
Thanks! There’s no steadfast rule for your kicks’ length. A longer kick may sound more like an 808 if it resonates very long, which you might want.

@@afi6061 I keep my kicks pretty short. It's probably around 50 ms

Anyone got a quick Lofi mix tip for high hats?

@@marc.lepage You're very welcome. I do make up words, sometimes. Lol. You've been warned.
You lost me at DAW. I really hate them in music creation. Too much work.
Nothing wrong with a mixer and 2 track tape machine my friend.
I don't like when someone talks too much in their tutorials, this video could've easily been condensed into 3 minutes. Thanks for the help anyway...
Thanks for the feedback. I’ll keep this in mind for next time 👍
@@TomCasey I'm sorry if that sounds bad but i don't know any other way to say this.
