Welcome back to Jade Joob! We are back and for this series I am playing Red Dead Redemption 2
I am so excited to play Red Dead Redemption 2 for the first time!

Thanks for putting out these vids Jade. I’ve been replaying RDR2 again and having so much fun. Been having Arthur wear the scout jacket because I used to have a coat just like it when I herded cattle for my grandparents
Hey Jade!
Tip: - Now that you've found a fence, you can sell your looted valuables and that gold bar you have. Fences are great ways to fatten your wallet.
1:03:28 - when selecting a food item to cook, you can press left or right to cycle through various recipes for that item that use herbs that you have picked. "Thyme Prime Beef Joint" for example. Using herbed versions in your cooking will buff your cores even further than plain meat.
1:17:19 - Have Pearson upgrade your satchel to be able to carry more items.
1:35:45 - Some side missions are only available at night and won't appear on your map during the day. Don't miss out on some nighttime adventures!
1:57:20 - "What kind of gang are they?" - If you go into your options menu and turn on "names" in the dialogue captioning, you can see who is talking. So when members of that gang talk, they will be identified, i.e., "Lemoyne Raider: It just feels like we ain't gettin' nowhere."
Turning on "names" in the dialogue options also helps you in your own camp when you are overhearing conversations and arguments, you'll know immediately who's talking or addressing you.
2:03:30 - "I'm mighty disappointed" - When looting a camp like this, you can use your Eagle Eye. Loot-able items will light up. There were a few medical and cash lock boxes and a chest you could have found. Camps usually provide some decent stuff and can be quite worth it. Took me awhile to figure this out too! 🤠

Shooting tip. If you notice the little ring around your dot when shooting, it shrinks down as you aim. The smaller that circle the more accurate your shot. So if you aim and fire quickly sometimes you'll miss, even when the dot is on the enemy.
Also, get in the habit of putting some long guns on each time you get off your horse, etc. For some reason the game keeps resetting it so you just have a your handguns, it was one of my frustrations while playing.
I prefer to use a repeater (like the lancaster repeater) and either a shotgun if it's a close quarters type job, or a rifle like the rolling block or springfield if it's going to involve longer shots.

So many times I think to myself: She doesn't know what's coming... 😉
But I thought about things the same way in my first playthrough.
Just enjoy it! There is only one chance, to do things the first time! 🤷🏼♂️ I know I am pretty smart! 😂

Addendum: Be aware, this game might ruin open world games for you afterwards! I always miss the option to interact with NPC, like you are able to in RDR2... For me they set an absolute standard with that!
In olden times, people referred to getting a beating as taking licks, like the licks of a whip. That's what those guys at the church meant when they said they were going to lick Arthur.

@JadeJoob then again, in some of these little redneck towns, I wouldn't be surprised if some of Arthur's enemies would want to lick him before or after killing him.

Which town do you like best Rhodes or Valentine? I personally like Valentine, idk the orange tint in Rhodes just doesn’t agree with me lol

In post civil war times in the American South, there were a significant number of people who hated the federal government. After all, the southern states tried to become their own country during the Civil War and believed even God supported their claim, so "true believers" in the old south would have seen federal agents as invaders if a sovereign nation. Messed up, but this game does pretty well with the portrayal.
Very messed up indeed! I can't imagine feeling so entitled to another human beings life and labour 😵💫

@JadeJoob indeed, and it was more than even that. Even though there were abolitionists among the Southerners, the entire southern economy was built on agriculture, while the North's economy was becoming more and more industrialized with a focus on manufacturing. Slavery made agriculture in the South highly profitable, and when the industrialized North gained greater control in Washington, D.C. the desires of abolitionists in the north pulled strings in Washington. Everyone saw which way the wind was blowing, and the South believed the only way they could remain profitable was to leave the Untied States and become their own country, which started the war.
Removing the human element from it and looking at it purely from an economic standpoint, it was very similar to the situation that led to the American Revolution, except this involved slavery. The southerners believed they were carrying on an American tradition of independence from tyranny.
It was so much part of the southern culture that you can even find former black slaves in southern history who became successful plantation owners and had black slaves of their own, and in some cases, treated their own slaves worse than the white slave owners. Truly horrific times.
The immediate aftermath of the civil war was a society even more racially charged than before the war. There were a bunch of impoverished whites who saw recently freed slaves doing so well that their own sense of self-worth was challenged, and this helped fuel the creation and spread of the KKK, whose original goal was to scare black Americans into not voting and not enjoying a life of success. That organization quickly got out of control and began killing people and became the domestic terror organization we all know and hate today.
Well, I've blabbed too long again, but I hope it helps add some context to the game.
Start robbing from the robber's that's what Arthur does. If you come across guys with a safe they are trying to break into ya rob em! same with those morons the Lamoyne Raiders.

It's about time you get a better horse then this basic one, try starting with catching the white arabain horse in the snowy area its not that hard but is almost best horse in the game will make traveling much faster.
