Had the most bizarre altered journey when I went sevenoaks yesterday. A broken down train somewhere near orpington made our (tunbridge wells to Lndn bridge service class465 ) go via eynsford to London bridge , not something you see everyday. If only someone caught it on camera speeding past otford.
Thats interesting! I'm surprised the driver knew that route, I don't think they use the route through Bat and Ball that much. As you said, a lot of the footage of special trains you see from creators like me is down to strategy and good luck!
@@StarlifeStudios yes indeed, maybe they get trained to do it sometimes just incase , and also the driver went a bit slower despite it being a route that allows for speeds near or above 70, probably to be able to react to the signs on time. Maintaining 50 to 60 mph on the route. Before passing swanley and then switching lines (a line i never knew existed ,over a bridge ) to stop at chiselhurst ,letting people off for orpington services , despite not being scheduled to stop there. The conductor announced that people should change for orpington, it was definitely a good strategy . And what's funny the 465 I got earlier towards sevenoaks didnt stop at orpington or Dunton green etc, just went straight to sevenoaks from london bridge passing orpington at speed, which is also rare.
I’ve been to chislehurst a few times, the lines there confuse me so I don’t know how drivers understand it, especially when something goes wrong! You need to start videoing your journeys BB-, you seem to get better luck than most!
@@StarlifeStudios breh, I guess years of doing it lazers in their brain, I have no idea either. it was the dumbest luck ever haha, its true, it always happens when I just want to go for a ride and not actually going anywhere . I lowkey want to drive trains . I'm still thinking about it.
I really recommend it JJM. The other thing I should say is that the staff on this station are fantastic. Lovely and friendly, the thameslink drivers are great as well, ask when one terminates and you’ve got a good chance in getting in the cab!
@@StarlifeStudios Wow ok. also video idear could you do trains at Hildenborough train station its very close to sevenoaks and you do get lots of not stopping trains there including freight trains at speed two. hope its possible. also yeah the staff are great there there really kind two.
The only southeastern stations I've been to are, Catford, London Victoria, Canterbury East and West and Ashford International. My main lines are Southern and SWR
From what I’ve ready 66718 stays in the southeast most of the time and rarely ventures out of this area. The sparks occur on the points and I think the rain helped with that!

Hello, St Pancras is a tough one. I’ve tried doing it before but got told to leave. Cannon St is a good one, I actually filmed there in 2016 but never put the video out, I’d like to do that station in rush hour. I’ll see what I can do..
@@thestaffordshirerailenthus5126 My visit consisted of a fair bit of rain though! Also be aware that there are staff at the station entrance now checking tickets. Tell them your a train spotter and they'll let you through.
Yeah, I think by the looks of things they’ve spent a lot of they’re time sandwiched between other units and that allows dirt to build up. Some of them (like at 08:25) have things written on them. The ‘yo yo yo’ and :-) made me smile haha.
Great video! Can I ask how you got permission to access the platforms? Do we need to ask the staff? I would like to know for when I come to England one day. Thanks 🙃
Good Evening! So the rules vary depending on which stations you plan to film at. In London the vast majority of stations are manned during daytime hours (especially major stations, I.e termini) and therefore most train operators require you to ask either at customer services (if it exists) or ask a member of staff to give you permission. To be honest, for the vast majority of stations I visit, I don’t ask at all, in fact it’s so common in the UK that most turn a blind eye to it. For the purpose of your visit, I would only ask at large stations with more than 4 platforms. By the way, you pretty much always get accepted onto the platform when you ask hence the reason it’s pretty much pointless at small stations! Hope this helps. 😃
@@StarlifeStudios thanks very much for your generous answer. I was thinking of visiting that specific station (Sevenoaks), but I guess i don’t need to ask there?
Saw a 465 pass there the other day, strange but cool.
Nice video! You could really hear the wheelslip from those 375s. Never knew 66718 had GBRF Tube livery.
The guy driving that train at 8:30 had major wheel slip going on! Anyway Great Video! :)
