  • Hello, it's Thursday!
This week I challenged myself to design and make a really cool dinosaur...and things didn't quite go to plan. Can you paint on yarn with acrylic paint? Let's find out together!
I love my genetically engineered theme park amigurumi though, and I hope you do too!

I'm glad you're taking a rest/taking the time you need! I love the raptor so much. He's so cool but also just the right amount of derpy to have a delightful little personality lol Random detail, but I loved how you stuck the teeth through his "gums". Just such a fun and interesting moment of crochet being perfectly shaped for something in nature. Love it when that happens!

No, it’s gonna look a lot better if I just have random parts in a bucket. Awesome. Can’t wait for your Halloween project!

Tip, put fabric softener into the acrylic paint and if turns into a homemade fabric paint, it holds pretty well and even increases the color coverage🎉 tip from an artist who constantly paints on shirts. 😊

Beautiful design and i would love the plushie of this size. Cute actually makes him better cuz terrifying is not that huggable imo. The use of paint is a great idea.
As an artist you can add fabric medium to your acrylic to make it permanent on textiles also can use fabric modpodge as a top coat to make them waterproof. Any additional details you can use a sharpie or fabric pen.
But if you don't have those options acrylic paint will bond to fabric using heat like an iron or heat gun.
Then you can run him through the wash and air dry. Though as with everything eventually the colors will fade.

Ok I just wanted to say that I love your sweter or jumper or whatever that really is, but it's so amazing. And I'm so impressed by your brain I mean I'm currently doing your octopus, cyberus and baby frog and thinking abt starting fenix🤷🏼‍♀️ and it's kinda easy for me at this point to do it, except the sawing of course cuz we all know its horrible (my gosh this sentence is going to be so long and out of sense but who cares really), but doing some pattern on my own? I do not even have any idea what I'd like to do actually 🤷🏼‍♀️ the only things I can do outa nowhere are blankets and bags but chosing colors? I can't. I mean I can't ever decide, I hate it. Seriously.
So yeah I really am impressed and I mean it and thank you so much for all your projects, cuz they are mostly the only ones that I do and I would die without them😅 so yeah only that. Thank you. ❤
    Greetings from Poland 😇❤

The painting is genius for this one. Also about acrylic paint. It frequently dries fabrics very stiff and unpleasant. BUT, in the acrylic paint sections here in the US, you can buy a clear medium named textile medium. You can add this to your acrylic paint in the painting dish. Just mix it in any color. It causes the acrylic dry softer and more flexible on the fabric. I've used it with art quilts. The painted stripes added so much character. The painting from body on to the body parts really blended them very naturally. I personally adore your small patterns for my work. This lare raptor is truly wonderful. I love watching you design. I'm learning a lot from you. I have a gr son who's favorite color is orange. I think he would go nuts over this raptor. I'm not upset at all about your filming schedule. Please work at your own pace. My life is going through adaptation in my treatment schedule. This and the volcano watching I'm doing has put me behind in crafting and watching schedule, :)

If you want to make a quick and easy fabric glue that's flexible, just mix some regular acrylic paint with some Aileen's Tacky Glue and BOOM. Flexible paint. I fixed my cracking headphone ear pads with this, and it's held up. I think it was a roughly 30-40% glue to paint ratio.

That’s a really great idea to paint the yarn if you can’t get a colour matched yarn. Apparently you can make acrylic paint into fabric paint using a homemade fabric medium mixed into it, using vinegar, glycerin (baking section of supermarket or chemist/health store) - recipes online.

As someone who both paints and crochets the idea of painting yarn with acrylic paint stresses me out so much, but it turned out looking super cool. I would always use chalk or eyeshadow because I feel like acrylic paint either wouldn't stick properly or make a weird texture on the yarn. I love the way you did the teeth, I've never though about making them like that and now I want to try it.

I’m loving your aesthetic and your method for adding lots of texture and frills to lizards. Any play plans to design a triceratops? That’s my favorite!

I've used acrylic paint on yarn, (mostly because it's the best way I've found to do short, close-cropped hair styles,) and the only thing I can say with it, (because I don't throw my stuff in the washer, I recommend people spot clean the dolls I make,) is that it takes a SURPRISINGLY LARGE amount of paint to cover an area of yarn.
