I thought UC was the silver bullet to overpayments and false claims all it’s done is cost a fortune in infrastructure pushed the ones who need support into poverty and debt and been as easy to exploit as the ones it replaced. Why not have a pause system for people with disability who want to try to work but don’t want to have to face reapplying for the benefits they have to give up from scratch. This will end up like the last time genuinely disabled people being targeted and either stressed into worse health or taking their lives.
Yes jobs will decline as employers simply stop taking on full time positions...... probably get arrested eventually for not offering full time positions under labour

I remember when my son was back in the primary. His classmates who lived in council house on benefits are using new iphone while my son on budget phone. And one of his classmates was son of refuge family visited my house. He thought the meals in schools are free without even knowing those are not free as it's benefits. Coz I was paying for my son's school meals. I am fine some people do need extra hands to help. But I do think they should know these helps are not come free. They should feel grateful instead of thinking free is a norm.
Good get people training get some qualifications if they cant find work and they should be doing voluntary work such as cleaning the roads, helping to do more either in charity shops, schools and hospitals instead of doing nothing. Stop importing more people especially net loss people who have no value and cost more then we need. Young people should be working if not learning invest in them and help create flexibility in job allow more part time vacancies and job shares. Also cut the politicians wage and put that money in to helping disable people make going outside and work places more adapted look at the steets an roads there uneven and broken fix that. Put more resources into making working easier especially for disabled people allowing more learning centres and support. Also check on fraudster who have assests, make it easier and reward those who report benefit cheats.
