This is a great episode! Also Julia saying that she pre-maturely laughs at her jokes because she thinks of Jacob's reaction makes my heart melt. Lovely episode everyone :)
This feels like Julia’s Deep One is how the character was introduced in the comics: as this big, bad, mysterious, and terrifying villain that was the main bad guy of a series for a long time. Nathan’s feels like when The Deep One was reintroduced as part of a villain team up, but got kind of sidelined as, say, the “smart one” of the villain group to make room for the more well known villains. Jacob’s is like when the character was brought back again, but as a one off, villain-of-the-week situation which wasn’t 100% faithful to previous versions but was so popular on its own that most people now think of that version when they think of the character.
Nathan’s version is now having a cultural resurgence thanks to “The Deep One being the best character on the show (1998)” clips being picked up by the RUclips algorithm
I really enjoyed all the non-standard in this: the three panel page, the serial format of having the next artist use the prior as a prompt, and having Julia go first to encourage something wild from the start.

DRAWING SUGGESTION : Nathan's big book of dino lies. Nathan read some really old and incorrect dinosaur facts that Jacob, Julia, and Karina must draw what they think that dino looks like. If Nathan wants to draw, someone else could give him a dino fact.
One unintentionally beautiful element of this video, is the fact that it doesn't even need chapters! The three segments on the screen separate the drawing time for each piece almost perfectly in the time line!
Didn't know the reference for Jacob's "this is a stylus", so my mind jumped to "now this is a stylus all about how my canvas flip-turned upside-down", and now I want that to exist. I feel like Nathan's is the principal at a magic school, Julia's is the stained glass portrait of him, and Jacob's is the version that the students make for the school play.

At about 8 minutes in- speaking as someone who does HEMA, Historical European Martial Arts, there's both that, and Buhurt. HEMA is primarily focused on the historical recreation aspect, while Buhurt is primarily focused on hitting people with metal rods. They are two very different sports, and when comparing things like armor construction and technique between the two, there are incredible differences. If you're interested in historical swordplay, I highly recommend HEMA, and would never under any circumstances recommend Buhurt. Quick PSA, just because the differences can be hard to spot from the outside.
from what I've seen Buhurt is more of a team sport, with events like "The battle of the nations" where the object is scoring hits and points by taking opponents out. A lot of HEMA is mainly focused on one-on-one techniques while using civilian clothing (Bloßfechten) while Harnischfechten is less popular due to the costs related to the acquisition and maintenance of a full set of historical armor. The main difference with LARP or SCA stuff is that they both use blunt weapons with spatulated or rolled tips instead of foam boffers or synthetic padded weapons, and in the case of Buhurt, halfswording and piercing techniques are discouraged and viewed as fouls. But yeah, I agree that Buhurt is incredibly dangerous, because their weapons are seldom balanced to be safe, and there's just no realistic way of eventually being trampled and controlling fractures and concussions.
