What's on the bench has always been my favorite show! I thought you were gonna talk about the element rc scale drive line. Love this show! Do it a little more often.👍
Don’t be silly, why would Enyone get upset over that. Do you really think the police would be interested on the numberplate on a model car get real chap
Hey Matt: So happy you got the 4runner on the 'whats on the bench" series. So, incase you were wondering... the leafs are indeed Dean's (Chino) military-wrap springs (score!). The metal inner fenders are from "cchand". The deans plug/wire is basically an extension cord that runs from the engine bay, thru the trans tunnel, below the rear seat floor and into the battery box in the bed (but you are right, on my brushed motors/esc's I always use dean connectors). That electronics plate I made for under the hood was set up so that mamba x will fit right in the front of the motor (as long as you use a Holmes stubby) and directly above the steering servo (as long as you use a 299lp or other low profile unit). Hope this helps! Can't wait to see those front seats upholstered and installed...!
Wow, that's alot on the bench! I can't wait to see these rigs finished! I love that 4runner, full depth interior, GCM drivetrain, LEAFS! Maybe you can find one of those molded engine bays that will leave enough room for the electronics? I used to run a Dean's plug on my motors too, I need to start doing that again!
One of the videos I failed to comment on. Well I fixed that. Super cool build/giveaway. Yes I know it's gone hahaha. Love the 4 runner. A buddy of mine had a 2 door 4 runner full size. They are cool. I know iv seen ot before but... its awesome. I'll say it again.
I have on my bench a Tamiya TT01E Audi, I’ve got every upgrade for it and a Ford Escort MK2 body shell and cockpit driver figure, i also got the 3D printed RS wheels and Perrelie style tyres for the late 70s rally cars. Also a Tamiya NSU Prinze rally car, my dad had one waaaaaay back in the day, late 60s ish. So I had to have one. I’ve got a Tamiya Globe Liner truck to finish off, just 3 years late, lol 😂. You are going to be busy for quite a while with all those builds. Orange and black tee shirt comes to mind for the number plate, lol 😝 Awesome video. 😎👍👍👍
The brake booster & fluid reservoir being on the right hand side threw me off for a second. I feel you on the weather situation, I was driving home from work tonight and noticed there are quite a few trees changing colors already. It’s too early for that. Is it really already the end of September?! Time flies when you’re playing with tiny trucks.
Get the #&+$ outta here! You gave that truck away!? Wow. You videos are sic. You give aways are crazy. Glad I discovered your channel. I started out with RC myself when I was about 9, with RC planes. My first build was a Gentle Lady glider with I believe was about a 6 foot wingspan. I then got into crawlers about 15 years ago, and loved the idea of scale trail trucks but didn't seem too common then, not here anyways. Now though, 15 years later scalers are crazy! I can't wait to get one. Just doing a ton of homework first to decide what to get. Your videos are a huge help with that. Can't wait to go from balsa to styrene.
I know about sanding 3d bodies. It took me like 3 months to prep my jk3drc 79 ford that's still on my bench. At least its painted now! Just need to attach trim and windows, mount to chassis, and take it to proline by the... DOH!
@@scalebuildersguild yessir! Silver Linings... *also I need to finish my 79 ford and rebuild the missing photos from the thread so you can put it in "best builds of 2020" ;)
I'm assuming as you printed you know what your plate means Matt! Loving this build I'm from the UK and see a lot of Range Rovers and Defenders that look as knackered as this. Good job buddy on the builds and the channel content. Your vids always make me laugh! Apart from the felony skate park bash that was just down right classy! 😁👍
I can't belive it either that the season is almost at the end, at least where there is snow (like here in Quebec) as I dont like to run my trucks in the snow and we can't go crawling on the rocks anymore
I would turn the driveshafts around on the 4Runner so the female side is mounted to transfer case. Less chance for stuff to get down inside of the female side of driveshaft
I'm still disappointed in myself for not doing "whats on the bench" when I had the idea a month before you did yours haha darn my procrastination! *I'm glad you did it though and its a billion times more entertaining and you show different rigs almost every time!
Will the rims on your mini me Jeep fit the gladiator’s portals ? Please let me know as I want the same for my gladiator but getting mixed reviews if they fit or not. Thanks and keep up the amazing work.
Question, what’s the best chassis for a beginner wanting to build a hard body crawler? So much info out there it’s hard to get a bearing. Love the channel btw keep up the great work!
Awesome RUclips channel 👏 I luv ypur work & knowledge to this hobby... I have a question for you sir, so I just purchased an axial scx10 gladiator in red but i wanna make the roof black how or what do I use to remove the paint... thanks.
✌🏻😎🏴awesome collection on the bench Matt 👍🏻. Like the license plate but it doesn’t match up with you. Besides I thought you was married. Ok maybe it does match 😂. You should put one on the front saying “ your a” 😂
Tosser, brilliant. Absolutely love the Range Rover. I literally just finished paint and assembly on one for a friend, I may have to get one for myself now. I've never tried weathering my builds but this and your Defender look amazing.
It was never a collab. He sent me some cash to build a truck as a giveaway, and that's still very much happening. Kit and a bunch of accessories have been purchased!
@@scalebuildersguild I wasn't sure what to call it so I figured collab was the closest thing to call it, btw thanks for you an josh for inspiring a new build for my collection via your latest mayhem project but with a twist, lol
Because Quebec as a province makes it extremely expensive to run a contest where you give something way. It's not fiscally possible for many, even large corporations. And it's not me, it's everybody.

Watch for that in Episode 9. Too new.
You going to get into a lot of trouble with police force with that number plate!!! 😜 Great builds. Quicker the year is over the better!!!

Your Axial Gladiator looks SOOOO GOOD!!!!

Wow awsome four runnner and that range rover is stunning. Thanks for the vid 👍🤘
Glad you liked it!
the range rover looks so badass, cant wait to see the running video with it.
Hands down best attention to detail. Love watching the stuff you do

waww!! this is awesome scale model 👍👍❤🤩😍
on my bench i have a Ferrari TT01 Drift car motor swap, OG SCX10 getting a axle rebuild & new servo, & building a 1/3rd scale Carbon Cub rc plane
Love the leaf spring mounts from JEC! Can't wait to see some running videos.

Very cool!
I chuckle at your long term, my CXT build has been 11 years and its still not done. That giveaway truck looks stunning, really well done.

Pretty much projects in hand and all look amazing!
Can you share leaf spring conversion maker, grc or smth?
This chassis comes with leafs from RC4WD. No conversion required.

Of current RTR, what would be your #1 pick? The Axial SCXIII?
Awesome RUclips channel 👏 I luv ypur work & knowledge to this hobby...
I have a question for you sir, so I just purchased an axial scx10 gladiator in red but i wanna make the roof black how or what do I use to remove the paint... thanks.
Since Jeeps have a textured finish to the roof, I'd tape it off and paint it on the outside with Tamiya PS Black, then hit it with some PS Flat clear.
@@scalebuildersguild thank you so much brotha 🙏
No Quebec? Sacre Bleu!
i got a one from hobbyking and its a tough nut its survived 50 tree crashes 50 flips and so much more
A tosser is someone who relaxes in ‘a gentleman’s way’ good English insult! But you know that anyway!
That thing is amazing. I miss my old beige '85 Hilux Surf. I should never traded that in on a SAAB.
We have all done stupid things to accomplish what we thought at the time was "growing up".

Nice stuff is the 4Runner running the 1.9 wheels or 1.55
They're 1.55's stretched onto 1.9 wheels.
Where did u get those tires and rims and are they 1.9 that was on the jeep gladiator
I'm just dying to see that 62 in a running video. Hopefully you can take it out for a short run before giving it away?
I don’t think it would be right to get the tires dirty before giving it to someone as a prize. I wish I could, but it isn’t meant to be.
@@scalebuildersguild Yeah, I know (sadly)... Hopefully they'll take the opportunity to film it when they receive it

Nice car bro
I’m curious, and not sure if you’ll reply but HOPEFULLY, how does one lower a TF2 on leafs for the blazer body to make it more scale to a stock level
Get softer leafs, and shorter shocks. Probably the best way. I also remove the internal springs from the shocks.

It's old, not available any longer from what I can tell.

Because Quebec as a province makes it extremely expensive to run a contest where you give something way. It's not fiscally possible for many, even large corporations. And it's not me, it's everybody.
what is the roof rack on your rrc?
I got it from JS Scale: www.jsscale.net/range-rover-classic-b69055.html
Does any company make a CJ5 Willys Jeep 1:10 hardbody body in USA. ?
No, but there's a couple resin kits out there to convert a Wrangler hardbody from Tamiya that are worth investigating.
Scale Builder's Guild ok will do. I would love to swap my SCX10 axles and Electronics. Fabricate a custom frame. Leaf spring suspension.
If I remember correctly, FJ60 was a manual and FJ62 was an auto.
62’s has the double square headlights.
