I don't think this is only forró... The music is forró, but I recognize dance moves from different dance styles, like salsa de roda, samba de gafieira and salsa cubana, besides forró. I am a forró dancer and I live in Brazil.
100% correct amiga bailarinha ,Im a salsa dancer and you are right they improvising and mixing different styles ,those vueltas are salsa moves ,I need a Brazilian girl to teach me authentic forro ...🤣
I dance many Latin dances and love watching old videos of Marquinhos and Vicky da Silva. I think you are right. They are dancing in a group like Casino Rueda and doing many turns like salsa and lifts.
I would give credit to the Brazilian men for their incredible ability to lead as well that make it easy for the women to dance well. I had never even heard of forro. I was introduced to it when two Brazilian exchange students came to Canada. I knew how to dance a little salsa. The way they led was mindblowing. I had never danced with a man who knew what he was doing as much as these guys. They put their hand on my back and lead only with that. It was humbling and very fun to let them lead.
I appreciate and love the explanation of the dance on the screen. I have so many questions as to why a couple that I watch on TikTok that dance Forro, dance the way that they do. I also saw where the man picks up the woman on his chest and she giggles her body on him.
forró is like a living language and was only danced in the Northeast, but later it conquered the entire center, southeast and south of Brazil and, therefore, it is a captivating, happy dance that mixes with with various rhythms and the tendency is to combine it with funk, as we are a very creative and happy people our politicians are the ones who end up with our country and steal taxes because the northeast region is poor, similar to the southern region of the United States, but the dance academies resist, mix everything and give enormous shine to the dance mixing Samba de Gafieira, Forró, Lambada, Salsa, Bolero, Zouk, Soltinho, Tango, Lindy Hop, Maxixe, Mambo, Bachata, Kizomba, Vanera, Merengue, Rumba, Cha-cha-chá, Cumbia, Polka, Waltz, Milonga, sertanejo and forró. Brazil was supposed to have a good, orderly, cheerful people and not be this country of unemployment and violence, especially in the big cities.
We have different music styles in the forró gender, each one has it's tempo. This song I believe could be evaluated between Allegro and Presto. The compasso is always even, never odd.
@Ben G Hmm ok, I teach Lindy hop which can be quite a bit faster, and it's only sometimes that you don't put your whole foot down. It looks to me like a styling, that's why I asked.
I don't dance, but could be for style too .. it's alot of hip movements, dancing on your toes makes it sexier, i believe. I'm from Brazil and women always dance forró like that ...
When you dance forró you will know how much easier it is for the followers to follow in fast dances when dancing on toes (actually is not "on toes", but my english speaking won't be able to explain hahaha). There are a lot of reasons, but for me, as a forró follower, the main reason is that we are so close to our partners through all the dancing and there is a lot of rounding movements, arms crossin movements, between other caracteristics. So, for me, is natural and easier to dance on my toes. But that's also a culture style. Brazil is really really big, and there are lots of different dancing ways around here for the same dance gender.
Quem te disse, forró tem inúmeros passo , depende qual o tipo do forró, pois o forró tem vários estilos de dança e ritmo, se vc pesquisar vai se surpreender com a vasta variedade.
Had to double check this wasn't on 2x speed.
ahahahahah
LOL

I hate people that dance lambada at forro’s party.
Yeah I saw that along with some salsa de verão, and frango com rois sujo thrown in there for good measure.

This is salsified Forro; just going as fast as possible and turning as much as possible without considering timing, rhythm or character.
dance of my dream! how we can get it here in Israel?

I love Forro. I went to a Forro festival in Rio and had a blast.

Why are the women dancing on their toes? Looks difficult and painful!😮
ta mais pra Samba Rock que pra forró.
I don't think this is authentic. When I was in Canoa Quebrada people were so much more natural. This is show.

cómo Chama a música??
Feira de mangaio / Clara Nunes ou Sivuca

The dancing does not follow the music at all.
It follows the beat differently to western music
