    My hometown! I love Birmingham and it will always have my heart.
    It’s a ton of great restaurants, the people truly do get along, and the suburbs are really nice.

      Do not. I have lived here my whole life. Spent the weekend in Huntsville and as soon as I finish grad school I am heading there. It is a much better place.

    A huge con for me is that mountain passes funnel traffic into narrow areas resulting in colossal traffic jams twice a day, and accidents can back up the limited access for double digit miles with hour or longer delays.

    She's spot on. The crime rate in Birmingham is very high, probably best if you don't look it up, but it is mostly black on black crime, so if you're not in those areas it is relatively safe.

    I moved here a year ago, I wouldn’t recommend it, if you want to have a life and have things to do outside of going to a college football game

    I live about an hour away from Birmingham. And about one hour away from Huntsville. 95 out of 100 times i will go to Huntsville. Just look at the census population decline, if it was really great it wouldn't be losing people

      @@heythere6983 Huntsville is HALF the size of Birmingham AREA WISE, and barely has the population now, its always been the 4th largest city until they started ANNEXING all around them just for the population. It doesn't have the infrastructure that Birmingham has, and is NO SAFER than Bessemer! Nothing to do you couldn't find in Gadsden or Bessemer or Wetumpka except visit the space center!
