I had a 2005 Buick Lesabre Custom with the 3.8L. It was the best car. I ever owned. I wish I would never have sold it when it hit 200,000 miles. It got 27-28 mpg. The only money I ever stuck into it was at 175,000 miles the blower motor in the cab went out ($110) and the cord for the engine block heater went bad ($30).

I’m just about to get this exact car. I found one with 138k miles for about $2,000 and I figure it’ll more than likely last me the rest of my life. I don’t go far very often, in the past 8 years I have owned 5 cars and only driven a total of about 80k miles in total. The only car that has lasted was a Honda Civic that I bought a few years back. But I’m going to get this good old beast.

Guy acts like 2004 is retro like the 1970s or something. I was driving 1980s cars well into the late 2000s. Ford made bench seat cars until 2011. As far as nostalgia, this Buick had alot of features that many car owners wouldn't see standard until after 2010. The HUD is an example of something you still don't see in many production cars.

Simple features? It took cars until like 2014 to catch up to all the features that were on this Buick. Hell, even my 97 Buick Riviera had most of these features. This car was loaded in terms of "stuff". Modern infotainment is the only thing that's missing unless you want to count cross traffic alert or something like that. Even today, in 2019, a lot of the features that are on this 2004 Buick are optional. A lot of the stuff was available in the year 2000. Just think about that that's 19 years ago. The only thing that has really Advanced is some safety features and infotainment. We basically still have the same stuff today but this car back then was loaded in terms of features. Lots of GM cars like Buick, Cadillac and even Oldsmobile always worth ahead of the curve when it came to technology. Sorry, it just sort of slightly annoyed me that someone would think that these features were "basic".

John Doe I know several people with LeSabre built from 1992 - 2005 and the only real problems they've ever had is with the window regulators. They've all been bulletproof reliable in other areas such as with the 3800 engine and 4T65E trans, GM knew how to build a Powertrain in these cars right at home in Hamtramck, Michigan.
